Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That Sierra guy with the essay is back again, €2000 lower this time and it's still overpriced.

1770 words in the DoneDeal ad if you need to kill half an hour

I had it transported to Ireland via transport truck as was easier than flying there and driving it back
    Riveting stuff.
I then sourced a second LHD Sierra for parts as wanted to fit the rare Headlight Level mechanism that came with a lot of LHD models
You must be fun at parties!

Seriously though, I think the seller is a boardsie and has done some savage restorations on tractors?

Oh really? The plot thickens! Of all cars, Sierra's probably make more than they're worth here but the fact it's LHD is a killer.

I dunno, the house in the pic looks familiar. They had a cool Sierra van and restored some Zetors beautifully. Mightn’t be the same people at all.

It's been crashed and all too!
Sounds like he's written an essay on how it happened, in the snow. On crappy old tyres too.

How did he fit so many letters into the ad even? Honestly, 2k is probably enough for that.

Easily twice the price it should be, however...it's an 08/2007 built car that was first registered on 16/12/2008, meaning it's an 07 plate on emissions tax! Does that make it an ex-demo/press car that was given a reg on delivery in 2007 but not first taxed until end of 2008?

Tell me if I'm wrong but I feel this deserves to be posted as do a few 3 Series.

Soon to be 9 years old and no iDrive but still looking for 13k.

There was a private 2011 white 320d estate up last week that was looking for 15k.

Fairly bog spec for a UK import too! You could have a tidy F30 320d (if that's what floats your boat) imported from a UK dealer for 13k instead. Mad money for a just-above-base 3 series that's two generations old.

Looks to be parked up a long time going off the state of that brake disc, and NCT up since March? Almost certainly gave 3k on a trade in, wash it and stick it on carzone for 13k, genius! Must be a relation of the lad selling the Sierra above.

Yeah - I never would have gotten that :D

And I don't think the seller will get it either :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,097 ✭✭✭johndaman66

It took some time to sell my 09' 1.4 litre Auris for a tad over €3k a few months back and it was spotless with about 20 months NCT on it. That said it was at the lower end of the price range for 09 Auris on Donedeal at the time, many asking almost double. As I recall the only one cheaper was looking pretty rough.

Mk 1 Auris - an inferior car compared to the Corolla they replaced.

I dunno. It's got cup holders in the front and rear seats.

That's a big deal. It's the first thing I would tell people about actually if I was advertising it.

If the Audi is mechanically as good as it looks in the pictures and has genuine 200k km on the clock it's worth the punt at close to that money I think. Just my personal opinion: "Buy a car not a number plate". Would be a real economical and comfortable cruiser for that intercontinental trip home for Christmas for example.

Just needs the right buyer that buys a car that suits them as opposed to car that suits to be seen in. And those A6 are a very good quality car with "unlimited mileage" capable 1.9 TDi.

If the pictures are anything to go by it's a credit to it's owner, wonderful looking car. Could be a real bargain for somebody in the end.

€1750 for a very dog eared 29 year old accord with 15 days Nct. Taxed until the end of the year which isn’t too bad.

Still spicy money for what it is realistically worth €750

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,005 ✭✭✭selectamatic

God I couldn't call that a dreamer. That will be an extremely useable car with €56 tax. And it doesn't look that rough at all really. And it's currently somewhat roadworthy.

The main concern I'd have is why the trader seller is shipping it on without at least trying to test it.

If it was in any decent shape and a decent Nct I’d agree with you, not a panel that doesn’t have a mark, left hand wing mirror hanging off, chunks out of the wheel trims, missing headlight washers.

Seller put it through a €5 car wash and tyre shined the tyres and asking €1750, don’t get it myself.

The only saving grace it has is it’s taxed and liable for €56pa rates in a few months.

    2 things:

    1. Why would you mention it has bucket seats as one of the first points in the ad but not show them?

    2. Why tell us it was insured as a 2nd car, that has literally no bearing on anything

It does highlight the fact that it can be insured on a classic policy which in turn makes it slightly more desirable. (Emphasis on the slightly.)
