Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That's great branie,I'm in a similar situation with my mother but results haven't come back yet.

I've a few things that I'm I suppose are a little more than trivial.
Basically everything today couldn't have went any better for me.

Was told last Monday I need to get something sorted urgently.
So, choices were waiting list at public hospital or private and get it sorted today.
Thing was,I don't have health insurance and cost was around 2k.
    Said I'd pay :o
So this morning had to get Corona test first at hospital so procedure could go ahead.
Results came back 2 hours later and were negative.
Then procedure was done 2 hours earlier than schedule and turned out all good!
Then was told that a public doctor performed it so I would not have to pay for it! :)

Btw the swab up the nostrils is pretty nasty.

This love letters post has me smiling.
I have finally admitted (to myself) that a local farmer is wooing me. His cheeky notes with eggs has progressed to cheekier notes, eggs and flowers. I’m quite shy and he is slowly wearing me down … if he starts on the poetry (or beeping the tractor horn when he passes me on my run) I’ll be a goner!

I wouldn't call that trivial though. Hopefully things stay that way.

    This is brilliant :):):)

Just to add, after thinking about the love letter post, its mostly letters about whats going on in his world while were apart. Much the same as probably everyones emailing to each other at the moment. Theres no 3 page tributes to me or anything but theyre from the heart and something I will always be glad to have.

Sitting here with wee ones watching cartoon network.
Teen titans go episode was about valentine's Day and it reminded me of how ,on the morning of valentine's Day Tesco is ALWAYS full of stressed, chastened looking men at the till , flowers, 💓 shaped chocolates and card in hand.
It just gave me a laugh.

Got to speak to my mother on facetime last night.
First time seeing her face since early March.
I asked her was she glad to be able to see my face.
She replied not really no, and gave a big laugh.
She may have Alzheimer's but great to see she's still a smart ass!!
She also tested negative for Corona.

    Emotional dolly here

Called in to the folks place to drop off the newspaper on the way to work. They were dancing to Randy Travis singing "Forever And Ever, Amen" on the radio. I dropped and ran before they saw me but, to be honest, they only had eyes for each other.

Oh, I love all the love letters stuff! I am also now very invested in the progress of the Ruby Ring-egg farmer saga -our own TH thread soap opera!

My TH today is that I'm officially allowed to leave my home today (I mean I've been walking the fields anyway, but now it's official), so I'm going to walk the 4km to my local shop/petrol station and wave in the window at a cousin who will be working there. We're very close and I haven't seen her since the end of January between working abroad and then her working overtime in a shop and me cocooning. Such a simple thing and wouldn't have thought twice about it a few months ago, but I'm super excited.

The Ouverture of The Italian Girl in Algiers is playing on Lyric FM at the moment. I'm working in the kitchen with that quite high, the smell of freshly brewed coffee, and a chocolate cookie. :)

My WiFi is back working. The cable had been eaten by a cow. I was out this afternoon trying to make my internet cow proof. Mad eejits have acres of grass, but ate the cable. Still, back in touch with the outside world.

While it's not nice when people get hurt, it helps if the injury is funny and the victim has a sense of humour about it. So it was with trepidation that I read about Queen guitarist Brian May getting injured in a bizarre gardening accident (!), but he's laughing about it: he's torn a muscle in his arse, essentially. :o

Death has this much to be said for it:
You don’t have to get out of bed for it.
    Wherever you happen to be
    They bring it to you—free.

Brought the littl'uns out for a walk along a quiet route I knew we'd meet no one.

Was enjoying a rare moment of silence when the 5 year old says "why doesn't everyone just wash the world to get rid of the coronavirus?".

While I pondered that and how it might work...

"If everyone just brought their hose with them everywhere we could clean the coronavirus off everything"

Took a moment to think how I should be encouraging given that she was trying to find a solution...

"Well...it is a pretty genius idea".

    A much-needed laugh was had

Lots of TH's today which is nice in itself

Bought a set of solar lights for the back yard to sit out when i can, and they were a bargain..as Mamof4 said above they're cheery to look at!

Bought a set of great value ceramic pots for potting up bedding plants and herbs and they're pretty to boot

Met new friends online who I spent all of last night chatting with on Zoom, very unlike me, but great for a change of pace from all the isolation of late

Also bought a garden hose thats gonna make my life a lot easier, and allow me to powerwash the driveway and paths.. there's something so very satisfying about seeing grime disappear in an instant

Plus my local greengrocer opened up and i was able to finally buy my Nan some of her favourite treats from there, including medjool dates, so she'll be TH when I drop them in to her tomorrow!

Lots spent but stuff I was planning for ages, and I am happy out:)

I still go to the office each day. Out of 200 plus staff there are probably 10 of us in there so a ghost town.

I wouldn't say I am a "key worker", more a disposable worker :P All the top bosses work at home ha

Over the last 6 weeks we get to know more about each other, have the chats and have a croissant rota going. They are in departments I have no reason to ever email but have a bit of camaraderie going :) We will all be chatty long after this is over, well I think so anyway
