    What's yours?

Regarding Biology and Virology and Immunology, probably the same as yours.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,807 ✭✭✭ShatterAlan

You don't need qualifications to ask someone to cite their claims.

    You are deflecting.

    I didn't bulldoze anyone's opinions. I simply asked a question.

    I didn't bulldoze anyone's opinions. I simply asked a question.
This is very hypocritical of you given the long list of questions you've run away from because you can't answer them.

I think it's a bit disappointing that someone who has a postgraduate is so willing to be completely intellectually dishonest in defence of completely silly conspiracy theories.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,807 ✭✭✭ShatterAlan

Why are you trying to deflect, they are simple questions.

You don't need to cover for the guy, I am sure he can answer them easily if he so chooses.

I don't see you piping up demanding evidence with respect to a counter-arguments and screeching about "deflection" when the discussion is going your way, so perhaps you ought to cool your engines.

Well IF you are qualified then I would recommend that you come clean and shower the world with your expertise. I would recommend that you share your knowledge to allay the fears of those who harbour skepticism and trepidation.

Claiming to be a qualified immunologist yet ducking under the cloak of anonymity .... you're hardly putting your health qualifications to good use.

    You studied only to hide?

I can completely understand someone wishing to retain their privacy.
What difference does it make anyway, just ask your question, if you have a question, and see what the response is!

Because then the response might counter the conspiracy claims and it will be another point he'll have to ignore and run away from.

By questioning the other posters qualifications he can pretend to have the high ground and have a point.

    All very intellectually dishonest...

and if it was suggested, which I've never seen, it would be unlikely to get strong support.
So it's purely your own decision.

Well then you have completely allayed my fears.

What I would like you then to cover is my right to free assembly.

The latest UK bill, The Police And Crime Bill, makes it lawful to dismantle a demonstration if it is too "noisy" and causes "inconvenience"

    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-56391988

Not only that but there are now powers for the police to break up any gathering and that will now be legal:

    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-56400751

And for those of you who have a problem with the Traveller or "knacker" as some would like to say, there is now a stipulation to be jailed for not having a license to live a nomadic lifestyle.

So, my question is this. If you pay your taxes and do "the right thing" should you be able to complain in public if you disagree with how your taxes are spent?

Last question...if you choose NOT to work, pay taxes or receive a penny from the public kitty and instead decide to live in a forest and eat berries and live under the stars and away from the numbers, should you be fined and sanctioned?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,807 ✭✭✭ShatterAlan

Are you always so aggressive or does it only happen when you are repeatedly proven wrong?

Only when answered by a simple question.

My line of questioning causes you discomfort? And your excuse is to accuse me of aggression?

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,229 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

My line of questioning causes you discomfort? And your excuse is to accuse me of aggression?
And again massively hypocritical given that you ignore pretty much any difficult question.
And especially given that you have been constantly avoiding the simple question central to this thread.

How is them telling of their expertise in anyway pertinent to them revealing their identity?

I suppose that anonymously anyone could claim to be an expert in microbiology and then skit off insisting that they wish not to have their identity exposed.

My question was simply....."what are your qualifications?", The answer was "I'm graduated in this field."

I don't need to know the man/woman's name and phone number nor do I even need their age or even the country in which they gained their knowledge or the university. I doubt that that would compromise somebody's privacy. I simply asked for qualifications, not a scan of a degree, or a reference from a college, just a summary of qualifications.

Not too difficult for a scientist, one would hope.

Yes, absolutely, as long as it doesn't cause major problems, or rioting, or looting, etc.,
and as long as it adheres to any health guidelines that happen to be in force at the time (eg. in the covid context)

Last question...if you choose NOT to work, pay taxes or receive a penny from the public kitty and instead decide to live in a forest and eat berries and live under the stars and away from the numbers, should you be fined and sanctioned?

I wouldn't think so, as long as you weren't making a nuisance of yourself, or causing an issue for someone else.

How do those UK police powers differ from powers they previously had?
I'd have expected them to already have had the power to break up noisy or rowdy demonstrations,
such as they might have done in the past with football hooligans, or other rioting, etc!

    I still don't agree.
In a small country like Ireland the number of people with specialised expertise can be limited, and, as revealing their qualifications is not necessary in order to answer any questions, I don't see why someone should need to give any information that reduces their anonymity.

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,229 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

A bit like how anyone could claim to have a degree in engineering, yet believes in objectively silly conspiracies.

Your demands for him to provide details of his degree are completely pointless and are just a deflection from points you are afraid to address directly.

    It's not fooling anyone.
Why do you think it is?

    First OFF...."Noisy and rowdy demonstrations"

How did the Suffragettes get a vote for women? ANSWER: by bringing attention to the cause that women should have the right to VOTE. Some of them lost their lives in this struggle. They weren't all sitting in a park sipping teas and hoping for the best. They were acting. They brought a city to its knees until they were allowed to be represented.

Do you think that pissed the neighbours off? Was that just "annoyong"?. You think that a demonstration must be a meek little flag-waving exercise away from the crowdswho are shopping? FCUK RIGHT OFF. When your right to complain is illegalised or controlled, that's bad. When others think that control is fine and dandy then you are in big trouble.

I don't want to be doxxed (again) from this website, if that's okay with you. Happy to share my credentials with a cmod or admin who can confirm. Dunno how to go about this, maybe a mod could help here.

Yes, this is very true. Most degrees are titled somewhat uniquely and give away specifics like where one studied or sometimes more. I don't want to explain further.

Also I haven't made any claims backed up by my qualifications yet. I simply stated that I was qualified in one of the 4 things mentioned, and asked why it was being asked for / what the point was. (as it didn't seem too relevant for an internet discussion)

The premise of this thread is all measure are permanent. But we've been in and out of various levels of lock down already. So obviously not all measures were permanent, even over the last 6 months.

Are you that well known ?

I sat the leaving cert and got into a well known university.

    There you go, doxxers,

I came out with multiple qualifications......bring it on doxxers.

You can't tell of your biological qualifications because of what....being doxxed?

Leaving aside your reluctance to reveal you qualifications in one of the 4 "things" mentioned, could you, by any chance, telll why you are a qualified opinion and qualified individual regarding that of which we spoke?

Again this is all irrelevant deflection.

It's desperate and a little sad at this stage.

Other than a strange detour trying to find out some random Internet persons qualifications for the last few pages, did we find anything out actually relavent to the topic... Like what restrictions from covid are permanent, and why someone would want them to be permanent?

Nope. I think this conspiracy claim has been abbandoned.

It's definitely been abbandoned by the OP as the glorious revolution they were hoping for didn't seem to come.

What is funny is that you say something which do not conform with actual dogma on some covid thread and you are told it is conspiracy theory and you are sent here. Then resident "conspiracy experts" tell you that "where is the conspiracy" and tell you there is none.

I cant even count number of warnings I got for saying right from the start that it seems that vitamin D prevent you from getting severe covid - it is pretty much how chinese dealt with it in wuhan right when it started. Anyone who dared to mention it was laughed at.
Same with restrictions, when first lockdown was announced as temporary measure for 2 weeks and how we all are in this together anyone who said it will last years was told they are crazy...
PCR testing finding cases everywhere when repeated enough times...
When someone said vaccines will not stop you from getting covid people in vaccine thread went berserk and all that pious talk about that one death with covid is one death too many all the while deaths or permanent damage from vaccines are perfectly acceptable sort of a "it is a cost of a business" scenario.
Natural immunity apparently do not exist or they want to convince you that it is not as good as vaccine induced one... Oh well, tough luck if you are female or allergy sufferer it is for common good.

It's all an arranged situation. Don't tell me there a few posters here devoting their lives to nit picking Conspiracies here for free.

All you have to look is scroll back and see who is posting and when. It's like a work roster. Regular posters suddenly goes quiet when another regular begins.

Never replying to each other given their common devotion to anti-conspiracy is a bit strange.

    They are on a payroll.

At least with the fake moon landings idea they have a reason for thinking that it was faked because of a belief that getting to the moon was too complicated to actually do. All these covid related conspiracies are totally lacking in any kind of reason for even being a conspiracy.

It give conspiracy theories a bad name, if that were even possible. :)

Mine too. Although I have no idea who should be giving me the pay check.

Funny to think that people who have different lives, live in different time zones, have different work schedules etc, and so usually only post at similar times every day are part of a new conspiracy. Maybe it’s an indication that conspiracy theorists are often unemployed and so can post at whatever time of the day they want.

    Stop badgering other posters.

By all means attack their opinion they are putting forward.

If you believe they have 'so called' qualifications, they should be easy to dismiss. But you are just deflecting.

Unfortunately the dept of anti- conspiracy isn't allowed to WFH as its an essential service. So we are on shift. Service will be interrupted on rain days, since no one knows how to use an umbrella.
