Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I will point out, this is a thread about eating and drinking and you've taken some weird insult at nothing, so let's not spoil the thread for everyone else. But work away if you really need to get it out. :D

I've flattened the curve a little over the last couple of weeks.

Still eating like a Lord, just burning off more of the calories and being a tad more careful now with desserts.

Jaysus the last four months I was eating and drinking like a man on death row that was working unsupervised in the prison kitchen.

Sipping a blackcurrant flavored mustard.a now with crushed ice, all about the discipline.
    mustard is the best.

    Stay strong, stay safe.

I had pork chops with potatoes and lots of sweet cucumber pickle. Spinach and mustard. Lakemore mustard is the best.

Noms. Just finished 2 slices of Brennans bread toasted, Kerrygold butter, 2 rings of Divillys black pudding mashed into each slice, covered with 2 Clonakilty sausages each. Sometimes I go mad and put a bit of Chef glass bottle ketchup, but not today.

Finishing a beer chatting to a friend in Birmingham. Gonna have a bowl of chicken curry that has onion and mushrooms all over it. A bowl of chips on the side. Bought them earlier when I was out for a walk.

I'd lots of everything left over from yesterday's dinner ,(have to stop making too much!) , so the potatoes are now lovely potato cakes . Not as good as my mother's were , but good enough !

There's a nice bit of gratin potatoes left over from this evenings dinner that won't go to waste if they survive the night with a growing teenager in the house that is liable to raid the kitchen at any hour.

Had them with a chicken breast stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon, all washed down with a cold can of Bulmers and a packet of Rolo's from the freezer for dessert.

I had homemade pizza this evening made by the missus. She did a great job. It was very nice.

Making chili con carne with cirio pizza sauce instead of tin of tomatoes , I ground the mince down over a low and slow heat until it turns to dust, garlic , onions and a pack of taco seasoning, add my own chili and simmer for an hour. Whole house goes quiet while eating, the hamsters give me a fist pump just because they smelled it.

That's an oul fave of mine that I haven't had in a while RG. I remember the big snow in Nov/Dec 2010 and Tesco's sold a two pack of those lads. Used to love them with a big backed spud while looking out at the snow. Made my own after that as Tesco didn't do them anymore. Been a while though. On my to do list now if I can find the right cheese.

Tonight, it's a simple pan fried striploin steak, mash, mushy peas and gravy. Bread and butter too.

Just had smoked west Cork fish cakes with homemade chips and garden peas. It was very tasty. Some Cork heads might know the brand. It's the fresh fish deli co. Their haddock goujons are lovely aswell.

Round 2 with the gratin potatoes with an ol' sirloin, only fit for the couch and Netflix now.

    It's a hard knock life.

I'm doing one of those student college-dinners that are cheap and surprisingly tasty. Chickpea curry, where you cook garlic and onion in oil, plop on a can of tomoatoes with lemon and cumin and curry powder, add chickpeas, and dish-up with rice and yoghurt.

Replace the chickpeas with chicken or even prawns. Lovely hurling.

I get fish delivered from Star Seafoods, it is absolutely gorgeous, they've just added new locations around the country for delivery, check them out.

I've mince defrosted so I'm doing homemade burgers and chips whenever they're all home from training and that will probably be after 10pm ,might have a sauvignon while I'm waiting.

    Great minds think alike.

These have been patiently waiting for the Rolo's to run out.

They will be frozen and will be the selection from which the 2nd course as of and from tomorrow evening is chosen.

    It's a biscuit, it's a bar...

Not long finished pork chop, mashed potatoes and carrots and peas. I inhaled it I ate it that fast as usual.

I'm having my 3rd bombay gin while the honey and mustard ribs are melting away in the oven, to be consumed with very smooth, salty, buttery colcannon.

For desert , as requested by a 10yo lady, we will be having mashed banana and cream covered in a worrying amount of cadburys flake.

I've been eating a lot of pork chops recently, for the first time in years (most of my diet is usually vegetarian or fish).

I've noticed huge differences in quality. Didn't like the lidl ones at all; skinny, fatty ugh.

The ones from Aldi I like, as they have less fat and thicker. Medallions. Wasn't a fan of the tesco ones either.

Is there anywhere that sells free range pork chops? I don't want to be supporting poor conditions for the piggies.

Slow roasted a piece of Bacon today and I'm having a few slices with Mash and mushy peas. I'm in a mushy peas mood lately as sick of garden peas. I may pour some cheeky gravy over the bacon or just rely on the peas.:D

Wednesday night beers so have a guess.

    Gonna walk it off now.:D

A variety of things cooked this evening. Mrs G went for a chicken wrap, salad and spicy wedges. Some sweet chili sauce if required. I roasted a nice piece of bacon and Ms G opted for that with mash and gravy. The balance will make great sandwiches or another dinner tomorrow. I have some (not yet cooked) chicken satay for later. Sure WTF else would I be doing!
