Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I build whichever model I like least (A or B) first, then take it apart and build the other model which I display for a while, however space is an issue at the moment so I breakdown some sets and store them away to display newer sets. I've only space to display about 6-7 models, three of which I keep constantly build so I rotate my other 3-4 depending on the size of the models.

When I get more space (i.e. move) I'll hope to have a wall with shelves to display all of my sets, I've about 30 Technic sets so will need a fair bit of space to put them all up.

I figured they weren't giving them out, just thought I'd chance my arm :)

Well, that and we got a copy of the Marvel Superheroes game last month without receiving any, didn't realise they had them.

I saw that in the flesh yesterday, it did nothing to steel my will power :pac: It's a beast of a thing, enjoy.

I caved and ordered this year's addition to the Winter Village theme, #10235:

    6spDBS.jpg

However, I ordered it last Tuesday and I still haven't gotten a dispatch email, getting impatient/worried.

I really don't have room for this with our current Winter Village set up, but it's a nice headache to have really :)

I saw this built and in a glass case in the Lego shop in Copenhagen and it looks amazing. I was going to get it for myself for Christmas this year but am going for 10225 R2D2 instead. I couldn't resist it after watching the designers video.

    Indeed he will.

If he doesn't it'll be the worlds first Lego-related tiger-kidnapping.

In fairness if he could get us 50% off for Lego, he would be a king around here. :D.

I guess there is a "catch" where we cant get involved. :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,435 ✭✭✭wandatowell

Though if he did ever do the right thing and put in a big boardsie order it might look a wee bit questionable if he orders half a dozen Millennium Falcons :D

    Do it.

No boardsie deals I'm afraid.. I get a certain amount lego at a discount per year. Gets used up by family. I do a lot of business with them.. Has its perks, annual trips to billund, factory tours etc. Needless to say I'm my nephews favourite uncle

Word of advice. Dont go boasting about having a 50% discount on Lego, on a Lego thread.

The flimsy story about getting a Lego "allowance" doesn't help things.

I distribute lego educatoin kits, I have no problem doing boardsie deals, as I have done in the past, on anything I distribute.. You can see my store here, it's getting an update in the new year with more products.. anyone looking for anything pm me.
Unfortunately I don't distribute retail LEGO hence the reason I can't get discounts for everyone on it.. If anyone is ever looking for anything specific I'm more than willing to help out..

If I had a Lego discount I'd be like "Hey everybody enjoy paying RRP for lego, lolz"

I'll prob get banned for this but ironically I spend so much time running workshops with lego that I rarely build it outside of work. Christmas is the only time I really build at home..

Well m8, I cook for living and I hate cooking at home. :) I would not be surprised if you are surrounded by Lego at work and just wanting something different at home.

I would love to have somesort of job which would involved Lego. Though I dont know if I would enjoy to be Bricklink reseller... Having my own brick and mortar lego would be fun though.

    We've over 500,000 lego's and counting so I'm fairly surrounded :P

If you want to ruin something you love do it for a living.

I wouldn't say that, I do have a pretty awesome job and I never thought as a child I'd ever get to visit the LEGO offices, tour the factories, meet the family... It sure as hell beats every other job I've ever done!! In saying that there are times when the last thing I wanna see is a lego brick.. they're usually the days when I've to sort out all the boxes!

Almost bought unimog in Smyths too. I am sort of in between 42008, 42009 or unimog... Not sure what to pick up yet :(.

Get the Unimog, it's about to be discontinued and you will have a good 18+ months to get the other two sets at a discount.

I got the unimog and so far it's been the best build experience!

Nearly got the Unimog yesterday in Smyths Blanch, last one. €179 reduced to €159. It was on the top shelf and when they lifted it down the bottom of the box was completely ripped open. No idea whether everything was in there or not so I left it. They seemed annoyed I wouldn't take it after getting the ladder etc. LoL

It was still 179.99eu in Cork. :( If it was 159.99eu I think I would have bitten the bullet for sure. Just a little saving would make it worth it. I am sort of kicking myself for not buying it yesterday even for full price. :(

I think misses wants to go to Cork this week so I might as her to pick it up for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 501 ✭✭✭HorseSea

€159 would prove very expensive if there was a bag missing inside, the rip was the entire length of the box so I bet someone had helped themselves as some stage. Go for it at €179, it's a huge set.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,508 ✭✭✭Oafley Jones

Unimog is a fantastic set. Get it, you won't regret it.

Got a present of Mindstorms EV3 for Christmas. It's incredible, only worry is do I have the imagination to get the most out of it. Some phenomenal ideas online.

There is at least 2 in the Smyths in Naas, for anyone who is in the market. (Also means if you buy them there's no risk of me being tempted...:D)

    €179

They had €20 off the 4x4 crawler and that seemed to be the only discount on technics I could see.
