Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That was a decent performance! Wilson is somehow afternoon finding another gear, absolutely incredible.

  • Registered Users Posts: 861 ✭✭✭Vudgie

    What a win...Wilson was outstanding.

The TD by Lockett was amazing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,930 ✭✭✭Paleface

    Great win!!

Its been a really encouraging start to the season. I hope they can keep it up as its going to be a very tough division to get out of this year. Could possibly come down to divisional wins at the end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Great to have all the stress done by half 9.

Such an awful slow start. Turnovers and picks from the defence kept us in it and then Russ had his usual few big plays.

Tough one v Ravens next weekend but 5-1 can’t complain.

Sit back and watch 49ers @ Rams now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,930 ✭✭✭Paleface

5 - 1! What a start. Shame to lose Will Dissly for the rest of the season if it’s confirmed he did his Achilles. On a positive note Jarran Reed is back from suspension next weekend

  • Registered Users Posts: 82 ✭✭akenno

Ravens at the weekend, I feel the key will be tackling Jackson and stop him from making big plays through his feet. If he beats us in the air then fair enough. I'm looking forward to Reed being back in the line up and hopefully he will be able to generate some pressure through the middle of the line.

Our offence I'm not worried about, with the way Wilson is playing at the moment he can do anything. It will be horrible seeing ETIII in the opposing colours in Century Link but I really hope that he doesn't have a positive impact in the game for the Ravens. Then from next week on he can go back to being a Hall of Famer.

I would also like for Dickson to get some decent punts in this game (obviously I would prefer he never sees the field for a punt throughout the game), he has dropped off a lot this year.

Got the live spot on Sky this Sunday, first time this season

  • Registered Users Posts: 82 ✭✭akenno

Well that game didn't go to plan. It all came down to 2 drives that Jackson took over.

The missed field goal gave the Ravens the short field, and of course they went for it on fourth down and they converted it. Our defence was gassed, and Jackson ran all over them. It must be so frustrating to have the wide receivers covered and then you see the QB go running for first down and more every time.

One loss isn't the end of the world but NFC West is so competitive that you can't afford to drop many games. At least we have the Falcons next week, in what should be an easy win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

We were on top until the pick.

Were 10-6 up and moving down field with ease, dominating time of possession then bang 13-10 down.

Ravens turned it up second half and couldn’t live.

Looks like we may get the 1-6 Falcons without their starting QB next week and then the Bucs at home who are very hit and miss.

Could be easily 7-2 before the first 49ers game who will probably be 8-0

Just to note we’re on at 5pm next weekend with the clocks changing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,724 ✭✭✭oleras

A few more of those drives would be nice !

Starting to watch the Bucs game for next weekend

Suddenly that was a huge turnover

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

And just like that half the season is over!

    6-2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

Would have taken that at the start of the season, but we're so inconsistent right now. We can only hope we gain some consistency before the business end.

    Josh Gordon incoming

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,930 ✭✭✭Paleface

I’ll be shocked if Josh Gordon is a success at Seattle. I think it’s a bit of desperation after losing Dissly and not being able to acquire a TE with his productivity.

Had the Bucs held to a field goal and Wagner gives them a soft first down through a penalty which ends in a TD

Second Bucs TD gets thrown to one receiver bounces of him and gets caught by another

Throw in a missed FG and XP from our side and it feels like one of those days

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

This season needs a health warning

    7-2

  • Registered Users Posts: 861 ✭✭✭Vudgie

Wow we made hard work of that one.... the Wilson/Lockett partnership is incredible and Metcalf is coming good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,930 ✭✭✭Paleface

A win is a win but the signs are ominous if they are struggling to beat a poor Buccaneers team at home. You could argue that Arians has so much experience playing Seattle as one reason why it was a close game. They already beat the Rams in LA.

The next five games are all very tough and will
Make or break the chances of getting into the playoffs. I know it’s unlikely but they could conceivably lose all of them if they don’t improve on defence. Offence looks fine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

Just like we play down tonour opponents' level, I hope we can play up too. Defence needs to improve and our lack of sacks is almost embarrassing. If we'd lost the toss last night we would have lost in OT.

The Seahawks way seems to be just do enough to win now. Secondary just seems so poor, Griffin just doesn't seem good enough right now, he had so much potential but just doesn't seem to be developing enough, he had a very poor game up until that one deflection. Mike Evans is hard to cover for sure, but it was an embarrassing display from the defence. D-Line couldn't go near Winston which is criminal with how bad their O-Line has been all season.

49ers game is going to be tell all, Sherman is no doubt looking forward to it. A win would turn it into a great chance at winning the west, a loss means it's even tighter with the Rams for 2nd and the wildcard spot.

On the other hand, I still hope Gordon can give us a little of what he showed for the browns in 2013, with him and Metcalf lined up on the outside and Lockett in the slot it could end up being an even better offence.

I'd have to disagree with you on Griffin. He has been very good all season. One game against a top 5 receiver is nothing to be ashamed about. He is giving up nearly half a foot in height to Evans. The secondary are young and will make mistakes but I do think there is a solid unit there if it is given time.

I do agree that the D Line has been atrocious and this has not helped the secondary. Clowney has been a menace in the back field but just can't turn it into sacks. The rest haven't done nearly enough.

Expecting Gordon to do anything close to 2013 is asking a lot. If he can come in and be better and more consistent than our current number 3 and 4 receivers I'll be happy. Otherwise it has really cost anything.

I suppose I'm just disappointed with how quick he is developing overall, it's his 3rd season now, and yes he has improved a lot of aspects of his game even since last year but it just seems like his zone coverage is very poor and throwing me off. Then again, we don't have any better CBs.

With Clowney, it's weird. He isn't the same player that the Texans had, but he's adapting well. He's outstanding against the run when he spots it quick from the edge.

I still reckon Gordon will be productive, we have 3 extremely fast WRs now lined up for Wilson which can only be a good thing.

    This season....

    I just can’t anymore

    Insane insane game

  • Registered Users Posts: 82 ✭✭akenno

That is the definition of a rollercoaster game. It had everything.

I don't know about ye but I'm really enjoying this season. I'd love a blowout win as much as the rest of ye, but seeing Wilson and co constantly dig games out is great to see.

Look around the league and see the crap that some fans have to watch week in, week out. Seahawks are always in games, a couple of plays here ot there we could be unbeaten or we could be 4-6.

We could be watching an MVP season right in front of our eyes, try to enjoy it.

A great win and now heading into the bye week to recuperate and prepare for a tough road game to The Eagles.

Only saw the highlights but it looked like a crazy game!

Great win, hopefully build even further from that.

I take back what I said about Griffin, what a game from him and nice to see Clowney have a monster game too.

I don't know how you do that so regularly. I suppose it helps when you usually come out on the winning side.

Congrats on the win, see you in at the end of the year back in Seattle.

Hopefully will be a straight forward win...... yeah

With the game being flexed out of Primetime this week it's live on Sky at 6pm, Cliff Avril was one of their pundits last week and looks like he will be this week too.

Typical one of the games they show on TV at the regular time I’m not here for.

Though I will get to see Packers @ 49ers at a reasonable hour Sunday evening

Improving my games attended record to 4-1

Not a great game but 9-2 can’t complain!

Defence was very good again today
