Hi GH ive been using a DCT for the last week or so on and off with a LT and I have had no issues with it vaping great, I purchased it from e-cigshop. I do find the boges better for flavour and allround vape except the keeping them topped up part so im looking forward to getting minisub tank to use with them.

Thanks Newmark. You got the carto's from there too? They are Smoktech I see but I assume boges will fit too then? Most of the DCC's that I see seem to be Smoktech. Never tried boges yet.

    boges won't fit a DCT
well maybe the boge xxl's will, but I think even they are a bit smaller than dual coils

Yes got the DCC's there too. To be honest with you I'm not sure about the boges fitting them. I know the 2.0 ohm ones I have are too short but I don't think the boges fit them as there's a section for the flange thing to stick into on the DCT tank so I take it that they might leek unless you use a smoktech carto with the flange thing on it though I might be wrong.

    huh
an irish supplier now selling SR boge's. hope no one makes the mistake or ordering them for an ego battery, but good news for variabe voltage owners

only available in black so not suitable for tanks, damn. still, nice to have the option.

guess ill post this in the Where to buy thread since thhey're not suited for tanks

Still haven't received my carto's for my new arry tank, it's annoying at this stage. I don't know what I'll do if they don't arrive Tuesday. Cancel and reorder? But then I'll be waiting another week. Frustrating.

It's an okay vape, the DCC's aren't the same as TBS's normal DCC's tho...slightly different experience using them, draw is a little tighter, and they don't run as hot!

But it's nice that you can fill it up, at 8am, and not have to worry about it till later that night! :-)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,305 ✭✭✭Green Hornet

I find the same with the DCC's I got during the week. Vapour is not as warm and less 'full'. Think I'll get some ego-c lr heads during the week and thinking of getting another iMist atty too. Everybody seems to love the iMist except me so maybe I got a dud. Didn't spend much in the last couple of weeks…

Thinking of a DCT as well but I'd prefer if the ego-c lr worked. If that doesn't work I'm going to get a DCT.

My brother in law has a stainless DCT and he's said he's 'found what he loves' with it....mine is the smokey black one, and I have to say if I was buying again, I'd spend the extra €1 an get a stainless!

    What resistance are the DCC's?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 3,761 Mod ✭✭✭✭eeloe

I think they are LR, well quoted as LR anyway.

I don't have equipment to test them unfortunately!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

i think dcc's only come in 1.5/1.7/2.5ohms. although different branded cartos might have different performance levels.. *shrug*

its possible having it in the tank is affected the warmth of the vape? as the liquid surrounding it might be acting as a heatsink?

    --edit
just watched a video wher a guy said he was using a 2.8ohm dual coil
    so..

    *meh*

Bought 2 ego batteries in Nov. One gave out today!!!!!! Other one ran out so leaving it charge and hoping it holds out until Wednesday. Probably go soon too as I've been alternating.

Went for the DCT and carto's as well as 2 batteries anyway.

PBusardo review of the Mini Sub Tank....

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

nice, and he has it on a lavatube. looks good although I dont like how the top of the carto sticks out that much.. could easily fit another ml of juice at least if they just made the tank a tiny bit bigger

although I guess with the easy filling it doesnt really have to fit that much inside

    --edit

changing the carto looks pretty much exactly like the chibi tank.

so much cool gear floating around at the minute....and it's only mid March, imagine the cool stuff that'll be released towards the end of the year!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

repairables and mods i'd say are the next big thing

really dont see how they can push cartos/tanks much further.. just make them a little more consistent and .. that's about it really, they already do the job they're meant to pretty damn well.

    --edit

    rofl
get into that hole to get your juice in there

I think there'll be a lot of new clearo style devices too, that seems to be where a lot of the R&D is going at the moment and the vision/stardust is pretty popular so I can see others trying to copy that.

Got my mini-sub tank and chibi tank today and am currently in vaping heaven, with the mini-sub tank, boge 2.0 ohm, LT @4.4V, parkes vaping PV4 18mg juice 50VG/50%PG and a freshly charged battery. Now if only those good batteries will hurry up in the post :D:D:D:D

I had to buy 2 new ego batteries so I went for the 3.5ml DCT from Smoktech as well. Hoping that the carto's are better than some I got last week though. Very little of anything out of the 2 I've tried so far. Also bought some ego-C LR atties from TVS. Some Liqua juice too................bloody expensive week.

Thankfully my boge carts arrived today and I finally got to hook up my arry tank version 4 (stainless steel) and my initial thoughts are that it is a serious piece of kit.

At the minute I just can't see how it could ever leak, much like version 3 which I will use as a back up using clearomizers. It is weighty and I'd imagine unbreakable. Actually it adds a fair bit of weight to the lavatube, just something to consider if that's an issue for you.

I am also very impressed with the boge cartomizers, I have only ever used dual coil carts and I liked them, but the flavour and vapor of the boge is fantastic. Assuming they are somewhat durable, I can't see myself going back to DCC's.
The heat is reduced but the flavour from the RY4 through the boge, more than makes up for it.

When I got the tank I also purchased arry's delrin punch (£4.50) for the carto's and I have to admit it surprised me how well it worked. It's basic, but it does exactly what it says on the tin.
I can't see how the carto would ever bruise/collapse/lose shape during the process, also it seems impossible to punch a hole too far into the carto. Another excellent feature is there is no need to measure or line the carto up as when you put the carto in to punch a hole it is automatically lined up perfectly.

I will post pics if I can.

Chibis arrived last night. After a few practice runs on an old DCC, I used a (cheap lidl imitation of a) dremel to cut some slots in a carto and put it all together. It's tough going getting the grommets in, but I think now that I've done it once it'll be easier next time. I forgot to lube them with some PG too making it harder on myself :). Delighted with it so far, it's keeping the carto well soaked and not even the slightest hint of leaking, or even a little gurgling. At $5.50 a tank they're very hard to fault.

ive already read that they make a better seal when they're dry, but i can't say i've noticed a difference at all whether they're dry or wet
you will get the hang of changing cartos, I had a whore of a time the first couple of times but one day I just wasn't have any luck getting them in and I had to try 6-7 times in a row.. by the end I just knew how to do it. now I get them changed in a couple of seconds. slot black end pieces on either end of carto, slowly push into tank. push end caps in to seal. boom
like all things, it just needs practice

one tip I figured out yesterday. i was having a bit of an issue with a flooding carto, I'd screwed about with the end cap on top when I was filling and couldn't get it to stop flooding. so I just wadded up a tissue and stuck it into the top end of the carto for a few seconds. it soaked up enough juice from the filler on top that the flooding stopped and the vape returned to normal.

Considering how hard you have to push to get them in, I don't see how any liquid could get out that way anyway :)

    Good tip as well, thanks.

    ****ed missed the postman
    2 packages didnt get delivered

one was definitely the arry tank
if I had to guess the other was my healthcabin order or my toscanamall order

    pain in the balls :/

The thing with carto tanks is when you are fitting a new carto, don't put too many drops of liquid into it. Just a couple of drops to dampen the top.

When you put the cap on your tank you are creating a seal so the liquid in the tank will be pushed into the punched hole of your carto.

If you put too many drops into the carto itself initially then you will definitely suffer from flooding issues.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 9,689 Mod ✭✭✭✭stevenmu

When I was filling yesterday I actually didn't fill the carto at all, as I was filling the tank I could see the filler start to get wet. When I dropped in the last 2/3 drops from the syringe it was well soaked.

(I have 2 slots in the carto, and one of them is probably bigger than it should be)

Just got my DCT. Whats the little white washer for?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 3,761 Mod ✭✭✭✭eeloe

It's to put it behind the drip tip I think....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,305 ✭✭✭Green Hornet

Spent 2 hours getting a stinking taste and was blaming the juice. Checked the carto again and it was dry. Blasted thing wasn't wicking for some reason.

Vape is very cool and I'd prefer it hotter but if I can get it wicking I see how good this could be.

Might have to replace the carto though as it's probably never gonna vape right now.

Make sure when you fill the tank that you leave it for about 5 minutes for the juice to get a chance to soak through as the pre-punched hole is small enough in the dct cartos but once you leave it soak you should then have no problem. Also put about 5 or 6 drops through the top part of the cartomiser yourself.

The white washer your asking about - If thats the rubber yolk at the top of the cartomiser just remove that with a screwdriver and leave it out and put on your drip tip then.

    i was confused as hell

    Changed the carto…oh yeah!

Lovely hot flavourful vape! Little bubbles at the pin hole. Thank the Lord.

There must have been a problem with the hole in the first one and I burned it. Nearly killed myself inhaling burnt filler. Nice!

    This yoke is brilliant!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

    great stuff

if its anything like I remember, try not to chain vape.. give it a little bit after a few vapes as the hole is so small it needs a bit of time to soak up enough juice again to get a decent amount of flavour

Will do. Must be bad QC on those Smoktech carto's tho. Very hit and miss.
