Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not yet, and I can't imagine anyone is going to discuss it here until the application closes on Sunday for the sake of an even playing field.

I did it before and I remember it being quite tough, you see the question for 15 seconds and the camera comes on you for 2 min. Quite difficult

We can all hope can't we!! Cheers for the info on the way it works though :)

Following on from the question of salary. A recently signed off pay rise will give a pilot with 26 years service assuming you hold command a basic salary of €201k before all other generous add ons. Retirement age is 60 with an option to continue to 65 if you wish.

Your expensive training is paid for in an era where similar opportunities are limited. You are also at the very start of a new career. I’m not sure what some people expect!

Its a great opportunity for anyone interested in getting into the industry and will be well over subscribed.

Haven’t done it yet but if you look at thread from last selection process you’ll have an idea. Going to do mine on Saturday.. dread it. Did the online assessments today. Good luck 😬

To anyone who has done the online assessment, is a mouse needed?
Can it be done on a laptop track pad?

Laptop track pad works fine.. think it’s actually easier than using the mouse..

Done all of my tests tonight and the video interview. Questions quite straight forward but the camera setup got me a little bit.

    Good luck to all

    Hi gav,
What kind of questions did they ask?

Won't say the exact questions here as that would be unfair to the people who have already submitted.

But the questions were very general, nothing technical. I wouldn't be getting too worked up on them, it will be the format (video recording you with a clock in the corner counting down) that will put you off more so.

Its very easy to find out what the questions are if you use some intiative. Ya cant be asking boards.ie what way to configure before take off!

Definitely agree with this! Safe to say I'm not going to be the next big youtube star :D:D

I hope not but I reckon this is the end of the road for me :(

Don't get discouraged, these tests are hard, you have probably done better than you think. That's what I am hoping for myself anyway!

I don't know about anyone else but I sure as hell felt like I did a lot of waffling about very little in the video interview so sure we are all in the same boat :)

For anyone who have completed both assessments. In 2nd assessment, is your Interview item listed as completed or still "In Progress" after completing it ? I have a tick box beside all other items but not this one. Got an error message for 1 video upload for interview.....

    Thanks

Just finished my assessments, the interview item had a check beside it. Fairly happy with the interview, questions weren’t too tough but I may have waffled a bit! Ha...happy enough with the rest of the assessments! Good luck to you all!

Just going over my basic arithmithic now. Is there a need for calculators or are they permitted?

    Thanks in advance.

What kind of questions came up in the interview if you don’t mind me asking? How long did it take?

It’s only 90 seconds per question and there are 4 questions.. fairly standard questions.. nothing technical

What were the questions? And did you speak for the full 90 seconds?

Does anyone have an idea on the timeline for when invites/rejections would be sent out once the current stage deadline has passed?

Think I’ll be struck down if I gave the questions out.. but they were just general questions.. nothing abstract really.. no I didn’t speak for 90 seconds for every question you can stop the recording when you have said all you can say..

The people who have to review all these might appreciate brevity!

All done. A pretty mixed bag and reactions was the only one I got full marks on. Took a lot out of me mentally I must say, fairly exhausted after it.

Think Verbal Reasoning despite smashing practice ones was probably my worst part as I approached it wrong. Mouse control did ok for the first few mins and then a bit of carnage. Similar for others. Arithmathic was straightforward. Maybe got 1/2 wrong.

I thought the video interview was grand as im used to presentations/video conferencing etc from work however i really should have kept it more concise. Not enough time for me.

All in all I would say an average performance but hopefully enough! These things are not designed to be easy.

Definitely think i fared much better overall than the last time i did similar.

Yep. Was just about to do the video assessment...had given the example a bash twice (it's a nightmare btw lol) and then bam, site crashes. I'm gonna walk away for 20 minutes then come back and hopefully it's sorted!

They will have to re-open it and give some sort of an extension surely? Fingers crossed!

Anyone know if this happened the last time?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10 WayneH

Same problem here guys but I also sent my email to Recruit at AerLingus dot Com (sorry, it wont let me post an email address) as I suspect cut-e are a vender who AL outsource teh tests too, and I suspect they wont be calling AL in the morning to advise that they had an outage.

Yeah surely they will reopen it tomorrow. They cant let so many people miss out on their possible future because of an issue on their side. If it was ryanair... well.. it would be a different story

  • Registered Users Posts: 5 Markkerley

Lads and ladies, are ye gonna keep trying until midnight or pack it in?

Pack it in. No way is it going to be back up and fully functioning for everyone to complete their tests in the next 45 mins.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5 Markkerley

True enough, hopefully they'll open it again tomorrow. Be a pity if we did all of those assessments for nothing

Playing Devils advocate here, But they may not, Applicants had 4 days to complete the assessments, and with the thousands of applicants who have probably already completed the assessments, They may just say tough luck to the guys who were having issues with the portal in the final 2 hours.

People have work and family commitments, no point setting a deadline if you’re not going to honour it

True enough. I work 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts. First opportunity I had to do this after minimal prep was today.

Deadline was until midnight all, unfortunately things went down before midnight cutting the deadline short. Aer lingus will likely work with people as opposed to take a hard nosed approach.

All remains TBC but stay positive, the airline wants people to do well - doesn't want them to get shafted by a dodgy IT server.

    Good luck!
