Mathieu van der Poel and half the Bike Exchange squad have withdrawn from the Tour De Suisse this morning with a sniffle and the sh!ts, respectively.

Not sure if they are actually sick or just afraid of being given out to by Merckx Snr & Jr if they are seen to be withdrawing to prep for the TdF

Just as an aside: does it always p1ss rain in Switzerland? It seems every time I watch cycling there (Romandy/TDS etc) it's usually lasing like a wet weekend in Limerick during Angela's Ashes... and that's before they climb above the snowline up the Glickenhamnerspitz or something-or-other... awful place!

Good news for Dunbar, puts him into the young riders jersey with Hamilton out of the picture.

As Hamilton withdrew before the stage, Dunbar is already wearing the jersey

No commentary on the GCN coverage, just the race sounds.

    Pro racing is noisy, innit?

What feed are you watching? They had issue earlier with comms, fine on the dodgy stream I'm watching.

On eurosport app for the Belgian race the sound kept switching to ambient on me just tap the speech/text button on the top right and reselect english.

Sorry see you're on GCN likely have the same option there.

Rui Costa wins... but not without weaving across the whole road and blocking Kron

Kron could have driven a small car through that gap. I suspect the only issue was the suddenness of Costas change of direction

Eddie Dunbar is on the podium for the young rider's jersey. He'd be going to the Tour if he was on any other team. IMO.

Nice to see Eddie on a podium at a WT race :D

Costa relegated to 2nd, Kron the winner.

Costa may have left a gap, but he completely impeded Kron. Kron had to back off his sprint because it looked like Costa was going to put him in the barriers.

It was after the point that Alaphillipe did the same and got his penalty, was it not? Saw Eddie do it at the time and thought that it was a 'feck it, job done and i'm knackered/hungry' moment

I wonder will Eddie be allowed go full gas in the TT today?

Talented rider Ben Healy ...doing the Irish jersey proud

All going off at the Tour de Suisse. Uran was 71 seconds down on Carapaz going into the TT. He pulled back 49 seconds in the first half.

Eddie D might have a busy day tomorrow.

Eddie Dunbar lost a further 27 seconds to Leknessund in the white jersey competition and is now 38 seconds down in the competition.

In the overall, Carapaz is still in the lead but Uran put in a monster TT to pull back 54 seconds and is up to second overall @ 17 seconds.

With a potential for four sprint stages in the first week it is worth a shot to bring Cav if Bennett has not recovered but I think while the sprinting form has recovered he will struggle to make it to the first rest day after mountain stages to le grand Bernard and Tignes on the second weekend

Top ride by Dunbar, last man for Carapaz and riding into the White Jersey!
