Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Even if you look at average deaths over the first 6 months of the year rather than the figuers they are well up on last year

    Sorry for your loss. It is known that Covid is marked on deaths regardless of the cause. Name calling is uncalled for, difference of opinion in Ireland isn't allowed unless it agrees with the narrative.

    nearly 50k in the US according to a new study:

    In answer to your question op, I formerly imagined it was a global conspiracy instigated from the Pension Funds on Wall street. I am actually doubting that now myself. Although it is not beyond plausibility.

    However at the time it was unclear how serious the virus was. All we knew was that it was detrimental to geriatrics. It still is.

    But I am beginning to doubt myself now.

    I also don't think it is government instigated, any conspiracy existing has been orchestrated by a set which are hoping to profit via the adverse connotations of the pandemic. The pharma companies are too obvious, they make a fortune anyway. Actually with everyone scrambling for a vaccine it looks likes being a complete clusterphuck when solutions eventually arrive.

    Like most things that happen on planet earth, they are usually just random, pure and simple. I don't think anyone knows what is going on, welcome to chaos.

    So there have been 1772 deaths attributed to Covid in Ireland. With a population of 5,000,000 that makes 0.035%.

    Out of around 26,500 confirmed cases. Which is an approx 6.7% fatality rate (when using confirmed cases)

    Everyone knows it was the Jewish Lizard people from the darkside of the moon. They made the virus in their lab, mainly to target those who know the truth about their various conspiracies. It is their way to hide the truth.

    Think this hits all the nutbag ideas floating around. 2020, and we still have people who'd rather listen to utter mumbo jumbo that makes them feel somehow 'clued into the deeper reality', than the mundane explanations.

    Who told you that? The flu kills more yearly than this. "We have vaccines and treatments for flu" well the immune system is built to help is fight off viruses and infection, remember that? Odd that RTE or politicans never tell us how to build the immune system up to help keep people strong and healthy, it's almost like they want us sick so big pharma can bring on the vaccine. Just stay indoors and wait until they tell you it's safe to get your vaccine good man!

    A differance of opinion is different to posting misinformation and conspiracy throeries without backing up your argument with credible sources

    I gave plenty of sources but you dismiss them all and want to live in your comfort zone and deny any other possibility that you're being lied too. Just do as your told and wait for the vaccine. Don't forget to wear a mask now!!

    That reaction also happens on the internet, but there are usually rules against personal insults (not back-seat modding just pointing it out). However it's perfectly fine to point out that the view itself is false or nonsensical.

    I ask, why was the airports and ports never closed? If a deadly virus was here surely they would have been the first to close. No restrictions or procedures at airports either. Yet, pubs and house parties are being blamed for "cases rising" while they never closed the airports. This is deliberate so the pub culture in Ireland will cease to exist.

    Bugger. Did someone forget to tell you you can take it off at home? Sorry about that.

    So far i have seen 2 and neither of which i would consider credible. How many people would need to be invovled for this across new and media in nearly every country in the world? How many hoispital staff would need to be lying in both there social media posts and meida breifings? The effort it would involve is honestly mind boggling

    I think your example is ridiculous, has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Rather than thinking for yourself you'll shutdown any opinion with "conspiracy theorist" or "right-wing". Here's an example, You sit in the pub and the news comes on or daily briefing, they tell you "put on a mask", "stay indoors because we are quarantining healthy people", "this is the new normal", "Covid will be with is for years to come", "only a vaccine will stop all this" and you say ok I'll do everything you say, because you think they know what is best for you, just sit tight and wait for the vaccine.
    No analysing or thinking for yourself at all. Nothing to do with control or taking away our freedom bit by bit...has the penny dropped???.
