Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

When I was pregnant, in a maternity hospital I went to sit down in the waiting room beside a man, he told me I couldn't sit there as he was saving the spot for his wife!!!

I also got pushed out of the way when a free seat became available on the dart... Yeah cool no one noticed the 8 month pregnant woman to give up their seat but getting pushed out of the way when one of the seats became available was the icing on the cake!!

Is it the bankers or the solicitors dragging their heels?

Both but more the bankers. If I didn't chase things up I don't think they would tell me anything. It's like they don't understand that they don't make money off me until I am moved in.

I switched from them last year NH tbh , they were abysmal . It's Eir , all grand , just monthly plan was up , three days before it's due to be out !
Which I got no text reminder of , and when I asked the Eir assistant how I still could use the internet on the phone she said that often happens .

I remember that saga, it's like you're doing them a massive favour paying an extortionate interest rate for the pleasure of borrowing money from them.

"reclaiming" negative terms. Ok I see the point with terms like "queer". Other terms, people realise they are accurate and true but instead of working on their flaw, developing themselves in a positive way, they think it's a badge of honour. "Pervert" is a big one. Ive used it jokingly but sometimes its needed in its iriginal meaning when someone's going too far and its not welcome. So we have sex pest cheating louses and general d1ckheads running around like scourges but thinking they're rebels.

The trend nowadays in the charts of female singers sounding like cartoon characters or something. It's hard to explain the sound I'm on about but even a two year old child wouldn't sound as squeaky.

The trend of not being able to finish a line when writing a song and replacing where words should be with 'la la la'
Seriously, how many songs in the charts at the moment have la la la instead of lyrics at the moment?

Also, damn my kids to hell for making me listen to chart music in the mornings.

    Maybe not to hell.

I hate it when someone who has an intellectual disability or mental health issues is referred to as being 'Retarded'. I think it's a disgusting term to use when referring to anyone.

You see it used on here on an almost daily basis. Rarely gets addressed by the mods. Why it hasn’t been added to the “censored” words list is beyond me.

And the sad thing is that I've heard a priest and a retired teacher refer openly to people as 'retards' or being 'retarded'. Thankfully, both were checked for using the term.

You hear a song on the radio that you like and you wait until the end hoping that the D.J. will say who the artist is, and instead, the ads come on or the D.J. goes on to the next song.

As a previous user suggested, for a similar situation, download the app “Shazam”.

A retiring bishop once called the children of a special needs class at a local school "these sub humans" during a school concert speech. Everyone was too stunned to react apparently. I don't know if he had dementia or something.

Witnessed some incredible parenting the other day at a wedding. One of the bridesmaids has two kids (one baby and a 3-year old) that she just had to bring to the ceremony with her. Now I don't mind the 3-year old being involved as he was the page-boy and the bride's godson. But the bridesmaid's husband was tasked with minding the two kids, and let's just say he is a traditional old-school farmer type who wouldn't be overly used to minding them.

He let the three-year old run around with abandon, clambering around the altar, grabbing one of the microphones etc. The groom had to eventually intervene and escort him back to his seat. That could be explained away by him nursing the baby, but when the baby started crying at the top of her lungs for ages, he had no wherewithal to bring her outside for a while. I mean the whole ceremony was been recorded and now its essentially ruined by a crying baby, while even the priest was getting a bit flustered by the noise. I actually felt sorry for the wife, who was mouthing at him from her seat at the front to bring the baby outside.

TL;DR. There's a time and place for young children-weddings aren't one of them.

Maddening. My call to the bar (and that of the other folk called at the same time of me) was ruined by some self-entitled git from our class who insisted on his wife bringing both their young screaming children to the court for the call. Will never forget it. Four years of hard work and the call was ruined by a f*cking screaming baby who had no clue what was going on. I mean, the kids were young enough that the parents could have told them later in life that they were there - they wouldn't remember anyway. :pac:

Booked flights with Ryanair. They have now changed the flight time by six and a half hours. No use to me. I have gone in to their refund page and inputted all the details of my flight. I have ticked the box where it says that "flight times changed by more that 3.5 hours".
I am now getting a "cannot process" message because my flights have NOT been changed by more than 3.5 hours.........but they have......

    Hours spent on this already......

I've got a post up on Facebook showing the process of a project of mine. A lot of people are commenting F meaning Follow, to get notifications so they don't miss the "reveal" when it's completed. You can just opt in to receive notifications but ok, we all had to discover that at some point...but people keep pointing it out and supplying photos of a step by step guide on how to turn notifications on. It's not registering.

Now I've posted the finished project but people are still putting F and "cant wait"

I'm honoured they want to see the results of course it's just a hell of a lot of notifications for all of us whenever they comment F.

Trying to reboot my life after the sh*tshow of the past 18 months,
step one was to get my head straight and bring down the anxiety attack frequency.

I cant access the relaxation/sleep meditations the girls have put on the mp3, so I pick up a medication cd that was around.
All going well, got past the intro and dozed off listening to the meditation, at the very end of this it leads into to a happy clappy voice trying to flog me their merch.

FFS at the very end of the evening/sleep meditation they are all upbeat and selly!!!!!!

Off with it to a charity shop!

Signed up for a 10k run in a month. Need to get running, I desperately want to finish this in under an hour. I'm not a fast runner at all but I think if I push myself and eat right I can do it.

I got an urgent email, saying that my card had been declined when the seller went to get the money for the goods(two weeks after the order)
as its a debit card I ran to the bank to top it up, taking money out of their atm so I could put it in their pay in machine.

When I get to that machine, it keeps spitting out the 5e note, twice I straightened it up and put it back in the slot, third time it spat it out again, under pressure I get the rest of the sum topped up and went to the counter to have them top up the difference, ten minutes at the counter and noone has appeared from the back to help me lodge the 5e that came from their own machine.

TA, that on the rare occasion that machines have 5e these days, the same bank will not accept it in a different machine,

I don't know if I'm explaining this clearly, but there are times when you make connections in your head between two otherwise separate things. For example, last year I spent loads of Sunday evenings ordering a Dominos and binge watching Star Trek: The Next Generation. Now whenever I order a Dominos, the smell of it reminds me of Star Trek. The problem is that other people may not realize this and wonder why you suddenly started talking about Star Trek when we were ordering a pizza.

This happened again recently. I was in Boston last year and for some reason I noticed loads of Asian-American people there (a quick Google tells me Boston is about 10% of Asian decent). So, I had this conversation with a colleague today:

Her: I'm thinking of booking a holiday to Japan next year.
Me: Oh yeah, I've been to Boston.
    Her: ???
