Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thinking of signing up for Office 365. €10 a month for up to 6 people. It's currently €69.30 to buy it outright but the credit seems like wasted money if I don't spend it.

Should I pay up front and just enter premium competitions with my credit or pay for Office?

what do you mean by premium competitions?

Sorry, text message competitions like on RTÉ. usually €2 to enter. Usually spend a few quid on them if I've had credit building up for a few months.

Can't set up the Office 365 through Three billing. telling me that option is not eligible. Looked at other apps and I can buy them.

You have to sign up via the OneDrive app

I pay €7 per month and it includes the Office 365 sub + 1TB OneDrive

I downloaded the app and the subscription initialised but it told me that, although the first month is free the authorisation didn't happen. That was with my Three payment. It won't let me select now and only gives credit card as an option.

    Is this Three or Vodafone?

Sounds like an issue with Google Play payment methods ... open Play Store and select "Payment methods" from the menu and under payment settings (I believe) is the area you select to be billed by the carrier.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,512 ✭✭✭Wheety

    It's Three.

Mobile billing is definitely set up as it comes up for other apps.

    8rt19bG.png

But when I go to pay for OneDrive, I'm not getting that option.

    Vojio8U.png

Not sure how I had it selected initially, set as default maybe? But it had an error and was marked as ineligible for this subscription. Then I tried to update the payment method and that's where I am now.

I read somewhere that Netflix had stopped mobile billing so maybe Microsoft have too? I'm sure Google take a cut.

No as I just renewed my subscription via Three billing yesterday for another month. €7 deducted from my credit.

The only payment option I have is Three, I never added any other payment methods so perhaps you need to delete the other options?

I don't recall if there was anything in particular I had to do to select 3 as the payment for the sub. I believe it worked just fine as is.

Yup, don't need to do anything special. Just select 3 as payment method and away you go. Have been paying for office 365 for the last year or so with my credit.

The Netflix update was posted on this site somewhere, I'll have a look later.

But they said it's only for new subscriptions, and if you're currently using carrier billing, it would continue until you cancelled.

I'll try deleting my cards later but can't imagine it'll make a difference. As I said option shows on other apps.

sometimes you have to remove the three payment method and re-add it.

this has worked for me in the past when I've had issues.

I sure this has been asked and answered previously but can you pay for Netflix with 3 credit

Nope. Netflix stopped it a while ago.

I thought it was on here have gone pages back and can't find it.

Changed my #1 sim network on my dual sim and now my 3 network isn't showing up in the play store options to pay for stuff

    Any suggestions?

Change it back to your no 1 SIM? Why break something that was working?

Not sure Google play registers 2 SIM cards. Fairly certain from experience it's just the main SIM in the phone.

Ah ok I'll test that out.
It was initially 2x Three sims
    I'll swap them and check

I take it that it's not possible to pay for Express VPN with credit anymore given that it's not in the OP? I've tried paying through the app but the option is not appearing for me

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 717 ✭✭✭Phoenix Wright

For other people's reference, I'm going to respond to my own query. I used Express VPN's live chat and apparently it is not possible to pay by credit anymore. However, I have now purchased PIA VPN using my credit which will cost €7.52 a month - it seems to be working well so far on my laptop.

Just to update the problem I was having with paying for an Office365 subscription. I let my free month's trial finish and then tried to sign up again and I was able to use my 3 credit to pay for it. Paying €10 a month for 6 users of Office365. Each user can install office apps on multiple devices. I think they can only use 1 at a time though. But the big thing is 1TB storage x 6.

You can also pay for PIA's yearly one using credit, $39.99 or whatever it translates to in € at the time, it totalled €43.30 for me for the year.

Just did, filled it up already! :pac:

but I do feel the 1TB is a bit wasted if I'm paying for it and not using it. Would rather store stuff there I'm not worried about losing, so no photos or personal files, but yes to downloaded files.

Would you not be better off storing stuff you are worried about losing? Hard drives fail all the time. Even if you have several copies of photos/personal files, online is another option which won't suffer from hard drive failures or other damage.

Because once you stop paying for OneDrive you don't have access to them any longer.

I've looked it up and apparently it's fine to upload to OneDrive as long as you don't share the content.

Dont know what to make of wasting time uploading something you don't give a fig about either, stop wasting electricity, data, time, storage etc!

If you continue to exceed your storage limit for an extended period of time, your account will be frozen.

so yeah.. seems data will be inaccessible if you leave it indefinitely once over 5GB if you decide not to resubscribe for whatever reason.

It's not that I don't care about losing it... it's that I won't be AS bothered about losing it should I neglect to get it down for whatever reason, as I can just redownload.

The point is to use the OneDrive as a spacer to clear up storage space so I can store more files locally.

anyway this is off topic, take it to PM if you want to discuss :)

Yeah, I think there sub works on monthly, while 3's is 28 days so they can go out of sync, literally just topped up today so if it tried today would have been fine :(
