Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Porn was just a (pitiful) excuse not to induct Chyna.

X-Pac has made porn and is about to be inducted for a second time.

Paige and Xavier Woods (future HoF) are still scooting along. Others have done softcore porn and nude modelling.

But as mentioned, WWE is a weird place.

Private footage being leaked publicly is not the same thing as making porn for profit. Company had to support both, it was the right thing to do.

Re: Lars, I think WWE ought to let him go.

If they did take that 100k off him as they claimed, he should get that back.

However, I think it's time he was released. It had been reported that his anxiety issues were in part down to worry over the stuff that came out earlier this year coming out. Obviously we can assume he was aware this was also out there. If I am WWE, I am looking at this person who has caused really bad publicity and pressure from sponsors once already this year. Clearly the company is not crazy on employing people who have done pornography. It feels like a reasonably good bet that they would have asked him 'is there anything else you need to disclose?' when this came up. I just don't see how you could trust him, and I don't imagine he is very popular in the locker room.

None of which is to say I don't feel for the guy. Clearly there is some deep seated self loathing there with the comments he made post porn, and we know of his anxiety issues. Mental health is a tough deal. My feeling is public life might not be the best thing for him. I wish him well.

I really don't think the porn should be a big deal. He's probably ashamed of it, yeah, but no way should he be let go because of it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,310 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Wasn't Mickie James in something as well?

Gotta wonder if it was spotted before but no one wanted to admit to watching the videos. Though I would say it was likely someone involved or knew him that pointed it out after a falling out.

I hope Lars gets another go in WWE. Why should he be let go? Just cos he did porn? So what? Its not illegal. Poor fella meant to have mental issues as well.

Hope he is at least given a chance in WWE again.

    Not for the porn.
For the racism and the homophobia he previously put online.

I forgot about that! He apologised for that though didn't he? I believe in second chances for everyone but he might be pushing his luck where he has had too many headlines!

I think Titus gave a reasonable response to the comments around the time they came out...

    https://www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2019/05/titus-oneil-reveals-his-thoughts-on-the-lars-sullivan-654203/

As for the porn stuff, he will receive no punishment for that.

Because WWE gives people forms to fill out before they are hired specifically to find out if they have things that might pop up later down the line which would cause WWE a PR headache. It is extraordinarily unlikely that Lars advised them he had made a ton of homophobic and racist comments online, and performed in pornography of a homosexual nature, and they decided to hire him anyway.

Most likely he lied to them. And if that is the case, I would fully expect them to release him. Would you employ someone who lied to you?

It's not a creche. They are a publicly traded company for whom PR is a sensitive issue. Put him in the main event of Wrestlemania and have 8 year olds googling his name, see how that plays with parents, sponsors, mainstream media etc.

We don't know how stringent their background checks are.

For instance, at the beginning of the year Shotzi Blackheart was selling pictures of her excrement to fans for a fiver. She was signed and debuted on NXT last week. If you can get in the door after doing that the bar must be pretty low.

I mean the anxiety attack was unfortunate and hopefully he's worked on stopping them.

The other stuff as you say may be harder to get around. Also seeing as big E especially was less than impressed and publicly said so probably hasn't helped.

The videos in and of themselves aren't a problem it's the comments he made after them and the fact that WWE is a PG company might have cooked his goose.

    True. WWE is PG.
ah it's a mess isn't it? It really is a scandal.

Like it's 2019 who cares if someone is gay. But making homophobic comments then it turns out you got blown on camera by a guy years ago?

If it was some woman blowing him you know yourself he'd be getting something like high fives backstage and a big laugh all around :pac:

But it's a scandal. Makes him look like a hypocrite. Ah I don't think he will recover from this. Not in WWE environment.

Their background checks aren't great, that's been established.

That doesn't affect the fact they were lied to though.

But WWE always hire dodgy people. I remember the big Boss Man kidnapped Al Snows dog Pepper and then actually fed it to Al! He was kept on after this awful behaviour!

Its still real to me dammit!!

    No real way to check.
Like let's say in 5 years time you become the next big thing in wrestling. There's no way for WWE to check you.
Sure they could check your record but you could literally go on the internet tonight and do a Rob Lowe and upload yourself wa*king off on some porn site to be discovered years later.

At the same time before any of that comes out you ain't gonna tell a soul that it exists when you sign with WWE.

There is. It came up when Enzo Amore got released. But I doubt Sullivan will be released especially since he wasn't for the racist and homophobic posts. And with him being out right now things will probably blow over. Should the response on Twitter be any indication folks are laughing at the irony.

    Fully agree.

Randy Orton looks to have suffered a knee injury at a house show in Hershey

Charlotte and Andrade got engaged it seems. It's either that or they're big fans of DB. So marriage no3 then for Charlotte. The family business is winning world titles and marriages.

The thoughts of Conrad and Andrade sitting around the Christmas table makes me laugh for some reason

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 502 ✭✭✭sirmanga

Conrad's manouverings into being part of a wrestling royal family is really something else. His journey from rib-eating redneck to industry power player is enough to make Frank Underwood blush.

Maria Menounos is deadly and probably the best celebrity involved with wrestling and was probably a better wrestler than half the roster up to a few years ago.

Connie extolling the benefits of bluechew as they both sit there wearing those cheapo crowns from the christmas crackers, before Ric quietly slips out the room only to reappear a moment later with the 'babys arm' on full display, bauble hanging from it.

"Accidental sex"? Reminds me of the scene in Last Boy Scout (from imdb)
Mike Mathews : It just happened, Joe. It...

Joe Hallenbeck : Sure, sure, I know... it just happened. Coulda happened to anybody. It was an accident, right? You tripped, slipped on the floor and accidentally stuck your d!ck in my wife. "Whoops! I'm so sorry, Mrs. H. I guess this just isn't my week."

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,952 ✭✭✭Monokne

What I like about Marty Jannetty is that this business chews up and spits out so many guys, leaves them a wreck. So it's good to see someone like Marty emerge the other side so well balanced, grounded and content.

She is an actual wrestling fan though. I mean it takes stones to do the Dusty Rhodes hard times promo in front of the guy at the HOF.

I think people like CM Punk because he was saving grace of when the product was very stale. If he ever decides to come back a lot of people are going to think that he will change the current product yet again.

guess he hasn't forgiven Miz for main eventing WM and taking the piss (with ziggler) out of his first UFC drubbing.

Don't think so. Punk buried Miz on his DVD years ago too.

I may be reaching but I'd say Punk can't stand that Miz reached the pinnacle of wrestling in the Mania main event despite starting off as a reality TV star while Punk took the more "worthy" route of bingo halls and never had that one crowning acheivement of a Mania main event.

He was probably being a little bit too harsh here on this occasion.

I love it more that it was The Miz in character with a cheesy promo that wound him up enough to lose his sh1t twitter and show off what a spiteful hateful man he really is.

Because unless you know him personally, what does it matter if he's a dickhead?

Steve Austin had domestic assault charges from all 3 of his wives and was convicted on some of them. Does anyone really care or do most people just love him anyway?

Punk is a prick, that is true. Punk is a tremendous performer, that is also true.

Meltzer saying Io Shirai is unhappy in NXT and that Stardom are offering big money to her and Kairi Sane. Pinch of salt obviously as could very well be BS, but I hope it's true, would be great to see them back facing off against Mayu Iwatani again.

Wouldn't be surprised; she's suffered the most from the Baszler reign of terror on NXT.

I really don't get why they stack their roster only to rinse and repeat the same stupid monster gimmick. Baszler was basically Brock which meant far too many talented women were jobbed to her. When she did finally lose it's to a similarly gimmicked character in Ripley. I wonder how much of the roster she'll trample on now?
