Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm genuinely interested in hearing more about this, I wasn't aware of it tbh.
I like the guy but didn't always, saw him speak recently and he changed my mind about him and abou this country.

he got out owing a lot of people money in his wake.

now i know he went thru the proper channels and made a deal with revenue in the end but that doesnt excuse him in my eyes. the revenue are the very last people that needs the money in those situations.

So have you reported this to the Ombudsman and/or local Garda Superintendent?

What do I do? Tell the Gardai that a Garda is crooked? They have always looked after their own and until that changes I won't be telling any officials. And the Garda I'm referring to has been suspended before. I don't know exactly why but I live in a fairly small town and plenty of people know what he/she gets up to. The Gardaí must be smart enough to know too but this person is in a high enough position that might frighten the average cop on the street into keeping quiet. And when it comes to drugs where I live nobody tells anyone what they don't need to know.. So unless this particular Garda starts killing people, I'll be keeping quiet. Safer that way.

Nope, I'm not a Garda, but you're absolutely right that a politician should, if they have any evidence of wrongdoing, present it to the proper authorities, rather than making allegations and trying to stoke up anti-Garda sentiment among the general public.

which is exactly what he has done. he gave the information he had to the garda ombudsman. Months ago.

Tax cheat who took from his employees gives out about illegality. What's a disgrace is that this man has not been prosecuted.

He should back these allegations up immediately as if true are very serious and need to be investigated.

From what I've seen in the media recently if you break the status quo in the garda your career is done, snitches get stitches and all that....or fired, or bullied till they quit.

The cops want us to come forward with reports of crime yet they treat people (whistle blowers) that badly. Why would I trust them to protect me?

This coming from the politician who blew off two million in tax evasion as if it was nothing? He should examine his own behaviour first before he starts making accusations about other people.

Cool so the garda can go on dealing until Mick Wallace sorts out his tax.

    Everyones a winner.

    No.. wait..

Wallace sounds like a man with paranoid delusions.

And you sound like a plonker who's in no position to make such a diagnosis.

Why do you think he sounds paranoid? For repeating claims made by Garda whistle-blower Nicky Keogh?

    Wise up ffs.

I think it's clear from recent revelations that AGS are at best a long way from where they should be and at worst a fcuking shambles.

You think? I'm pretty sure that with a short Google search I can find plenty of examples of Gardaí being prosecuted by their colleagues for a range of offences from minor traffic to drug dealing itself without any rodents involved.

Ex garda jailed for dealing cocaine, attempting to frame someone for car theft and insurance fraud

That headline isn't reflected in the article at all =/
Cooper of The Green, Kingswood Heights, Tallaght pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice at the festival between September 5, 2009 and September 2, 2010 by knowingly allowing Luke Barnett to be wrongfully prosecuted on September 2, 2010.

Cooper was also charged with stealing a bag of cannabis herb worth €560 from Sundrive Garda Station on May 27, 2010 but this count was withdrawn by the prosecution.

Doesn't mention anywhere that he was jailed for fraud or dealing cocaine.

Can you find one for an assistant Garda commissioner, who went on to be commissioner and best buddy of a FG MoJ, running a drug dealer and being prosecuted?

He passed it off with poor excuses and kept his political seat while those people whose livelihoods he ruined saw their businesses go under. I have no time for anyone who fcuks people over like he did, and then he tries to ruin more people's lives by stirring up this kind of shyte?

Jaysis thats some high horse you're up on there Jack, careful you don't fall off.
Clearly you have never been in business for yourself Jack and lived in the real world. Because if you have then you'd fully understand why he fobbed the Revenue off so he could keep his company open and pay his employees their wages. What he did may not have been legal, but it was definitely honourable. When you're put in a choice of either laying staff off or 'borrowing' money from the Revenue many in business have done the latter and gotten away with it.

You seem to be up there in your ivory tower looking down on the likes of Mick Wallace because you hate the way he has exposed the Gardai as corrupt. But I;d hazard a guess that Mick Wallace has done far more for the community he lives in than most of us here will in our lifetimes. Wallace not only founded a football club he also built their stadium for free as well as a huge sporting complex. That football club produced one Kevin Doyle who later went onto score many goals for Ireland. How about you Jack, can you say you founded a football club and helped get hundreds of kids off the street, built them a stadium and faciities from your own pocket and your own time and then produced players good enough to do it for their country at international level? No you can't Jack, but Mick Wallace can and no-one can ever take that away from him
He sits next to a politician who 20 years ago was sending spliffs in the post to all TD's in an effort to have marijuana legalised. Perhaps Mr. Wallace should start closer to home if he wants to point fingers and moralise about alleged illegal activity.

You conveniently forget to mention that Ming sent every TD in the country a rolled spliff with a note saying who it was from and what his legalisation campaign was about. AFAIR Ming is on record as saying only about 40 or so out of 166 TDs sent him the spliff back. Says alot really, I'd say they were all happy out ;)

He added that the allegations related to a “significant number” of points being cancelled on spurious grounds, including “no known address” being listed, despite the points pertaining to serving Garda members.

Clare Daly who the guards tried to stitch up last year , you take a big risk by speaking up to AGS

Conditioning , media has always eulogised the police force in this country , they have a fulltime shill in Paul Williams , to even question the guards and any of their practices was sure to have you labelled a ner do well
