I've deleted the whole post above, only wanted to delete my reply to the wrong quote . sorry.
a poster asked about the tiso i6's
I got them as i was so happy with the tiso i5's i thought this could only be a slight improvement. my humble opinion , big step backwards. Battery life is less than half than the i5's (which were 5 or more hours) . Right ear is way louder than the left. yes instant and independent connect to phone is handy but the backwards steps far outweigh the forwards one. buy i5 if still available. they are great

So my work Tiso I4s have had the left button pad/cover completely fall off now, and was stuck to my shirt for a while before I noticed it, so gonna clean off the iffy adhesive and try to stick it down with something better.

For home, I got the Soundcore Q20 headphones yesterday and I find them very comfortable. I havent noticed the "popping" sound that brightkane has suffered, but I don't use the ANC while on the move.

They sound good, and a little more base than the Sony WH-CH700N that I got for my wife, which I have used on and off. Need a good few hours use to get the feel for them and properly try the ANC on them too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,716 ✭✭✭brightkane

I used the Q20 today on a very loud stobart propeller plane flight to the UK. They were excellent. The popping has stopped also. It appears to only happen when the battery is fully charged ?!

I think Basq posted about the bass previously and if you press the middle button on the right ear twice it turns off some bass and back on again. I could be wrong but its something like that.

I bought these, didn't expect much from them, I saw them linked somewhere, not sure exactly where.
When they arrived, they didn't work. At all. :D
The earbuds themselves are very big anyway, so not sure that they would have been comfortable. They look decent, feel cheap. The battery is in the earpiece itself, so I am sure these are easily repairable, the board seems to work without issue.

    But....
The box arrived (unbelievably well packaged for the price.) in a decent timeframe (that may change with coronavirus).
In the box there is a headphone case, 3 pairs of replacement bud tips, coloured (yellow - small, blue - medium, green - large), and two pairs of earhooks along with a usb charging cable.
For the price, if you are looking for a couple of earhooks, a case and some replacement tips, it's hard to fault them.
Even better if you get a pair that work.
There are only 6 reviews on the page, but they all seem happy enough :)
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32836688508.html

Everything that came in it. For €1.90, The earhooks and case alone are worth it.

The young lad wants a pair of apple airpod clones. What are the best value ones out there at the moment?

Easiest answer is that the best value are probably the 2nd gen h1 chip.
Not necessarily from that seller, I just picked them at random. Best to check out price and seller reviews. Normally around €23 for gen 2 (rename and gps).

If you are on android, this could be a bluetooth setting that affected me on other headphones.

I reckon you saved me a few quid there. Was on a flight last week for the first time with my Taotronics TT-BH22UK ANC headphones and whilst the ANC worked well the max volume seemed quite low to the extent I was thinking about buying a replacement pair but I just checked my settings there and the absolute volume setting in Developer options hadn't been disabled so fingers crossed that'll improve things and save me having to buy a new pair.

Try 'forgetting' them, pair them to a new device.
    Then pair them back.
    Or
    Support recommended this:

    1. Remove the bluetooth connection on the phone
    2. Turn off the headphones while holding the button for 8 seconds
    3. Put the headphones in the case
    4. Reconnect.

Got these last week on offer for £26: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07WJRW2FB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Worth keeping an eye on if they drop again, but even at £40 they're a bargain. Great sound, no pairing/connection issues. Took them out for a 5K run, had no issues, stayed in solid. Also look way better than the AirPod/i7 style IMO.

I might change to these if my redmi airdots ever die. Also prefer the look to the airpod style.
Have had the xaomi redmi airdots for over 6 months so far, no issues and are secure in the ears. Not bad for €23

Anyone with the Tiso i4's or i5's that are having a fault with one or both. There are a couple of things to try.
Forget the connection, charge them and connect them to another device, then back.
Another way is to clean the contacts and ensure oxidation hasn't occured. When placing them back into the charging box press down a little harder with your finger to ensure contact.
They are also easy enough to open up. If one isn't charging, then it may be that the battery is at fault/is dead.
To open them, push the sides together and press a credit card or plastic tool into the gap to help.
Mine haven't any fault, but it could be worth knowing if battery is replaceable (which it would seem it is).

    The dimensions of the battery [ST 581013 IF] are L-13mm H-9.5mm W-5.9mm - https://i.imgur.com/7bMqlQ8.jpg
The battery I found here has slightly bigger dimensions, but they say to ask in store about custom batteries

I would guess it is the Tiso, they are now being sold as the Treblab Xfit on Mashable or the T1X on Aliexpress (which may be their original/factory name)
These are possibly the smallest single piece - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000189965688.html

Last post about popping Soundcore Q20 I promise!

I have narrowed it down to it happening when the battery is full, straight after its been charged and NC is activated.

After a few hours usage the popping noise doesn't occur.

Presuming that you've done the obvious like making sure that the charging dock is itself charged, there should be four white lights on when you open the dock if it's fully charged. Then check the little brass contacts on the earbuds and in the case, they can get dirty or corroded, gently clean them if needed. When you pop the earbuds back in the dock an orange light comes on on each earbud so you know they've made contact. When you close the dock a small orange light beside the usb port should be flashing slowly signifying that they are being charged. Good luck.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 312 ✭✭cwboy

Yes. Case is charged with four lights. However when I put in the ear bud the battery was almost dead. Re charged there now. Lights are on inside the case and the light is flashing behind. Will keep an eye and see if it works this time

What you all reckon the best true wireless earphones are for calls? Thinking of the Jabra 65t/75t they are between €130-€170. Have an iPhone, don’t want to stretch to AirPods Pro and don’t like the sound of Gen1 AirPods. Have Redmi Airdots currently and love the sound but calling is useless.
