Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ah that makes sense. Loads of earpod reviews throughout the thread if you search back.

Is there any tiny earbuds? Usually most on Amazon look very clunky.

Bose 700 are still listed at €285 (€303 after vat change and delivery charge to ireland is applied) on amazon.de

Anyone know where i could get replacement ear rubber buds for the creative ouliner?

I have lost one and I cant find the spares that came with them :-(

i have tried a few ones from old earphones but they are too narrow and wont fit.

    Thanks

It's odd the new Bose headphones have a cheaper RRP than the QC35 ii. I presumed they would be a new and improved model? The 700 are 315e reduced to 285e and the QC35 are 350e reduced to 229e.

What are the best wireless headphones in the €50-€100 category?

So a good while ago I got the Tiso i5 and they've been great. I ordered the i6 but haven't opened them yet. I'm wondering if there's any point, is there much of a difference or should I just give them to someone as a present.

    Has anyone used both?

depends on what you need? Jabra Move are my day to day pair, Lindy bnx 60 are a decent noise cancelling set, plantronics backbeat pro give a lot for your money. Sennheiser momentum and 4.4/4.5 are decent and often reduced on the outlet and sony ch700 are around €100.

i5 have better battery life and volume range.

Only other main difference is the TOUCH Controls.

TOUCH ~~~ It is a touch and not quick taps on them.

Be careful with these I got these based on this thread and when I use them walking the dogs or doing anything active they loose the connection quite frequently. They also become annoying when they lead gets into an awkward position. I wouldn't recommend them anyway.
Lidl have a pair of rip off airpods today for 30 I'd say they are worth a look.

Well I think they're the best value earphones out there. Obviously its not going to compare to a €200 Bose/Beats set but for the money you can't complain. I'm on my 3rd pair. Lost the 1st pair and did something to the 2nd pair. So I bought a twin pack on Sunday for €45 delivered. Received it today and all is good again! ( edit: Twin pack was the Creative Outliers)

The only thing that drives me mad is the low battery kicks in at 30% and beeps every 3 mins. But they hold a decent charge so it's not too bad.

I am pretty sure I've not heard good things about Holyhigh. I can't remember where exactly but remember reading dull sound and some passing comments about them. Unless I read some very positive (unpaid) reviews for them I wouldn't buy them.
Many earbuds now come with a case that has a smal portable charger built in. You could also look at a Anker or Aukey chargers.
I haven't heard of Defunc so couldn't comment.

These with fast shipping from Italy mightn't be a bad option
    https://www.geekbuying.com/item/Tronsmart-Spunky-Beat-Bluetooth-5-0-TWS-Earbuds-Qualcomm-420153.html
You could try these codes to get discount from any EU warehouse.
    TSAUDIO17
    TSAUDIO25
    40CCMXMP
    SPUNKYBEAT
But, what they often do coming up to christmas is disable coupons as they usually know why people are buying, so 50/50 on them working.

Thought I'd post my thoughts on 3 sets everyone has been discussing on here for a while. I recently purchased the Tiso i5, the Xiaomi AirDots and my 3rd set of Creative Outlier Airs (I managed to lose the other 2 sets I had!)

    I'd rank them as:
    1: Creative Outlier Airs
    2: Tiso i5
    3: Xiaomi AirDots

For me the Creative Outlier Airs are a clear winner. Having misplaced by previous 2 sets of Outlier Airs (I know, I know), I decided to give the Tiso i5 and Xiaomi AirDots a go for a few months. I tried both out as my pocket earphones for a month each and in the end neither came near the Outlier Airs.

Both of them suffered from drop outs, although the AirDots were alot worse than the i5s. I found the fit of both to be relatively poor too compared to the Outlier Airs, despite changing the tips. There's no way I'd be able to use either for running, but I've regularly ran in the Outlier Airs without any issue. The cases of the i5s and the AirDots are both smaller than the Outlier Airs which should be a positive, but the i5s in particular are quiet high so in any reasonably tight jeans they dig into your leg and look odd. Also the magnet on the clasp of the case of the AirDots broke after a week so they wouldn't stay closed. Relatively minor issue though but probably counts against build quality.

Finally, I'm not audiophile, and what I use my earphones for is just podcasts/audiobooks/occasional music when I'm out running or walking to the shops etc. I have no idea of highs & lows & mids etc. either. But from my (tin) ear, the Creative Outlier Airs also have superior sound - that may be down to the better fit but either way the audio is clearer when I wear them.

I know previous posters have had frustrations with drop outs with the Creative Outlier Airs but I've had 3 different sets now and none of them have had any issues of drop outs. I may be lucky, or my phone may work particularly well with them (OnePlus 6T) but in my view at least they are rock solid.

So a very happy customer here of the Creative Outlier Airs - I just hope I don't bloody lose them again!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,513 ✭✭✭✭ohnonotgmail

You have persuaded me to give the Outlier Airs another go. Mine have been sitting in a drawer since about 2 days after i got them. I've changed phone since then so I'll see if that makes a difference. I agree with you on the comfort and fit. they are much more secure in the ear than the i5's or the airdots.

Got the i6 and bigger than i5

However using them on one plus 7 phone with viper4android installed and sound is very very low

Tried to change settings in developer options and in viper4android but still low

Then started using other pair of Bluetooth earphones
    https://powercity.ie/product/294331

and much better quality and sound

Is there any settings that work with the i6 in viper4android and developers settings

    Hi everyone,
Really interesting thread but I'm still a little bit lost. I've never been one to put much thought into earphones (usually just use the regular wired apple ones) but I want to get a wireless pair.
What do you recommend as a decent affordable pair of wireless earphones in the under 50 euro price range?(Could stretch to maybe 75-80 euro if needed but don't want to pay upwards of that) I wouldn't be using them for running or anything just casual use while commuting and lying in bed as i listen to music while falling asleep.

any advice on wireless air phone headphones, smth like that- https://www.amazon.co.uk/Soundcore-Microphones-Reduction-Waterproof-Earphones-Black/dp/B07SJR6HL3/ref=sr_1_29?keywords=anker&qid=1576269029&smid=A2PGPJL0BBLHLX&sr=8-29

only quirk is not large ears so wouldnt like to be looking like wearing hearing aids, also any recommendation for cheap bluetooth adapter for pc. as not fan to splash on iphone stuff or even samsung just for brand name. as got cheap ones wireless with cords from anker and its amazing but would be time to upgrade and found them to be cheap but quality is more then enough not really into crisp bass or studio quality but after few years seem time to upgrade.

You can also order from Amazon.de

If you are getting multiple items, you can get them consolidated in mailboxde.com if they don't arrive as one, but the shipping for the lot of them should be relatively cheap.
I think a powerbank and earbuds would be less than €10 delivered.
Pretty fast delivery. Should be in time for Christmas.

+1, I bought an item that was delivery to AddressPal on 11th Nov and I still haven't received it. Countless emails and phone calls to AddressPal since with me doing all the chasing. They requested all sorts of details such as courier used and even a screen shot of the signature they gave on accepting the item which I had to get off the supplier and still nothing. Have only ever used them once previously a couple of years ago and there wasn't any major problems but boy when there are problems they're incredibly incompetent.

I use ParcelMotel all the time including the oversize depot and never any major problems. However they really need to get a mainland UK address and there are an increasing amount of UK suppliers refusing to even ship to Northern Ireland, it's very frustrating.

Apologies for the rant. Back on topic I've had my eye on these for a while with an alert set at £25 but still waiting. There's a cheaper option available with 15hrs playtime.

Do I need to set up a different type of payment account....or pay by credit/debit card?
How can you get them shipped to R.O.I.?
Would they get here for Xmas would you think if ordered tomorrow?

Thanks for any advice or tips on the right way to go about ordering things like this and how you get around fact it might say the goods are not delivered to Rep of Ireland.
If ye get me started it would be a big surprise for herself that I managed to order them online !;)

You will have to create an account. Best bet is to take a months free trial of amazon prime but cancel it after or it well auto renew after a month. There is lot's of tv shows and movies to stream aswell as premier league football over the next month.

After you create an account (email and password required) you add the item to basket and checkout. You can't use Paypal so you must add your debit/credit card as payment. Pay in sterling as it should be cheaper than the euro price. If you have a Revolut card this is the cheapest option for foreign exchange. Choose free priority shipping and should have it within a few days.
Not all items will ship to ROI so if it doesn't you may choose something else or use a parcel forwarding service like Parcelmotel.

    Any recommendations for the following:

Not a tight in ear fit.
    Ear hooks
    Long battery life

I finally found a FM radio that can work with Bluetooth headphones.
