Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was referring to RTE rather than the rugby crowd. I won't be one of those mocking them when the inevitable happens,

What a waste of air time that might be devoted to fantasizing about beating the All Blacks or South Africa :-)

Or maybe a Greta Thunberg documentary about how inspiring she is

Anything that stops Dancing with the Stars etc from being shown is positive

TG4 provide a fantastic service but the picture quality on RTE is vastly superior.

On Saorview ? Yeah the cameras and broadcast feed supplied are actually HD. The broadcast output is low quality SD. Basically squeezing an elephant into a lift. TG4 don't have the money to pay for HD (or at least the Saorview version of HD 1440x1080) carriage on Saorview.

DCB have a utube Dubs TV for the county championship. Not great. Keeps freezing and then goes back to beginning on restart. Great idea all the same, but clearly technically deficient.

You just know they are running the service of a desktop in the backroom of someones house. :D

    *WARNING*

Killybegs are featured on RTE this Saturday evening. Rory Gallagher is involved.

Please take all precautions as are necessary to ensure you are not exposed to your set for too long for fear of a rash.

Good line up for the weekend.

Anyone see Gaoth Dobhair playing the Underdogs? Doubt they were killing themselves and footage, presumably shot months ago gave little insight into the game itself.

Current series is very hard to watch. Difficult to think of any of the "characters" with sympathy despite the multiple whinging. Mickey Ned, Geary and Cassidy come across well enough but god bless their patience.

didn't realise Dublin games were on. Was planning to go, but compromise might involved being there for the Vinnies game and then repairing to Craobh, as it will cold enough I think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,387 ✭✭✭✭dxhound2005

The satellite feed for the St Judes game is on 28 East, where BBC and Sky are. These feeds are usually on other satellites, and encrypted. I know that Sky boxes can't add the channel because of the irregular Symbol Rate (SR) but some others might be able to get it.

The channel name is RTE Parnel park, and it is fairly strong. You might be able to see some of the behind the scenes at half time and full time. It is higher quality HD than RTE 2, 1920x1080i.

    Eutelsat 28A (28.2°E)

    Frequency: 12538 - Pol: H - SR: 9600 - FEC: NC

    Category: Sport - Autres

    Transmitted in: MPEG-4

I'd have been very surprised if it was shown tbh. The county board would be afraid they'd loose out on gate receipts.

BBC streaming seems to be as good as RTÉ. Not a thing on the website yet and it must have thrown in already.

    .
THE Ladies Gaelic Football Association is pleased to confirm that both of next Sunday’s (November 10) All-Ireland Senior Club Championship semi-finals will be streamed live on the LGFA Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/LadiesGaelicFootball/

Mourneabbey from Cork, the holders, take on five-time champions Donaghmoyne (Monaghan) at Clyda Rovers GAA Club, with that game getting underway at 1pm.

At 2pm, it’s the clash between Kilkerrin-Clonberne of Galway and Dublin outfit Foxrock-Cabinteely, last year’s All-Ireland finalists, at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence.

Crokes East Kerry will be fairly entrailing - if you could only watch it!

Kerry county board wouldn't allow it, reckoned it would hamper attendance

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,384 ✭✭✭franglan

Not convinced it would tbh either. Could TG4 not give a touch to the county board? TG4 probably don't have much "touches" to give though.

Sure half the Austin stacks lads aren’t even training.

Crazy decision for them to play instead of Dr Crokes.

No wonder RTE are forced to cut wages.
Tonight's coverage of the club football match in Portlaoise where Eire Og Carlow gave the home team a trimming is a case in point.
Ger Canning doing the commentary may not be everybody's favourite but tonight he was joined
by a female whose name I don't know as I missed the 1st half, but sweet Jesus was she tough on the ear. Canning barely got a word in during the commentary as she jumped in with silly comments like " it'll be very interesting to see what happens next" and her trump line " this is a great game of football". You might say 'so what'? but we were subjected to these two comments every couple of minutes . No doubt she got paid a few hundred €€€ for this.
This gender balance sh one T is gone beyond the beyonds now in Montrose.

Lest I be accused of sexist comments let me say I enjoyed the ladies game on TG4 with two exciting teams with a lady reffing and good football played.
Once again Brian Tyers was excellent on the mike assisted by a cailín who just didn't know when to comment. Never stopped yapping in a piercing high tone that forced us to hit the mute button despite loving Brian Tyer's lovely blas.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,535 ✭✭✭dobman88

Couldn't watch the game myself due to Canning calling it Portleesha. Every. Second. Sentence. It's like he was trying to say it as often as possible and I couldn't "unhear" it.

Didnt find anything wrong with the co comm, maybe she was a bit inexperienced or nervous but seemed fine.
