So the first non Ulster football game is the 16th June? RTE are rubbish, you would think when they had lost every sport on the planet that would make a better effort.

Which games should they drop from their list, and which games do you think they should show instead?
I personally don't see a huge lot wrong with the selected games, and suspect any alternate list would also have flaws.

The problem, rather than the trite 'RTE are rubbish' is clearly the limitation in the number of games they are allowed show.

No, they show the most exciting games first. You sometimes hear the expression about a particularly boring game that it will the last on MOTD.

RTE deploy big resources to live coverage, so that lends itself to better quality footage for the highlights. They could have shown 10 minutes of Wexford Louth first, but the quality of the footage was not as good as the Cork Tipp game.

There was perfectly good footage from Omagh, from what was an exciting game. That could have been the opener, followed by footage of the other football games, all of which had their talking points outside of Roscommon v Leitrim, which was over as a contest in the first half.

We all know that the Munster hurling championship is great without having it constantly rammed down our throats. There is complete overkill with the live games being broadcast without leading with it in the highlights too. And of course nothing from the McDonagh games either, not even a mention.

Do RTÉ have anything on today? The EPG on my box says 1 has horse racing from 14:00 to 16:40 and says 2 has a western called The Champ from 13:15 to 15:30 and the 'All Ireland League Final' (presumably rugger) from 15:30 to 17:20. Hopefully it's just Virgin TV being useless again.

Strange. That's what I'd thought, along with football on BBC.

Galway Wexford is on RTE2, thrown in at 4.

Fermanagh Donegal is on BBC2, thrown up at 2.

There's "no programme information" showing on both BBC's so it's definitely Virgin being useless. Come to think of it now I turned on the Chase yesterday evening and it was Catchphrase.

Am I right in saying that bbc on virgin isn't the NI version so they won't have the football on.

It's on BBC2 Channel 109 on Virgin, but not 140 which is the HD version of BBC2.

Might be safer putting on 140 :D

    I've freesat so I've BBC 2 NI.

The acting is better on BBC 2 NI

    Not correct.

BBC2 (109) on Virgin Media is BBC2 NI. Has been for as long as I've had it.

Ah right, sorry. My telly isn't HD anyway so I only ever watch the one in the normal place on the EPG.

Just spotted this when looking up venues earlier. Does that mean GAA.ie are streaming the game live?
