They could near give Ciaran Whelan an autocue at this stage to save him reading off the desk.

Does anyone know what hurling matches are being shown on Saturday. Per the original fixture notifications there were two games identified for the final round of Leinster hurling matches. Per Sky the Wexford v Kilkenny match is being broadcast. Any ideas if the Dublin v Galway match is being shown?

Im guessing Monaghan V Armagh will be the live game from Rd 2 of the qualifiers? From what i can see, only one live game per round, is that correct?

Just the KK/Wex game is being shown. They obviously weren't going to commit to either game at the start of the Round Robin, that's why they listed both games

I've read both games are being shown on SKY simultaneously whilst the Clare/Cork match isnt being broadcast the following day.

    I'm answering my own query!

Per the Sky Sports website- Wexford's meeting with Kilkenny in the Leinster GAA Hurling Championship will be shown live on Sky Sports Arena on Saturday.

The Tribesmen face Dublin in Parnell Park at the same time, and we will be providing updates from the Donnycarney venue as the Leinster Championship round-robin reaches its conclusion.

I'd missed that altogether. Was talking to the Mrs about him there and realised I hadn't seen him this year.

I heard himself and Cyril were moved on by Joanne Cantwell. Not many people would walk away from a handy 20k odd a year talking hurling.

I just refuse to watch Brolly anymore. It's an absolute joke.
Actually, the more I think about it, I really can't ever recall any of these so called "experts" or analysts saying something completely mind blowing or even in any way informative.
To be honest, anyone watching GAA games as long as I am, can form their own opinions on a game.

If going for the tie of round on paper it should be Armagh v Monaghan. I think SKY will go with the Mayo v Down game though.

Looking at the GAA coverage list RTE are only scheduled to show a round 4 qualifier live. Sky Sports are down for 1 round 2 game and 2 round 3 games

They're only announcing the times and venues tomorrow afternoon?

    BTW I hope you're right.

Absolutely ridiculous that Mayo fans could have to be heading back west on a three to four hour trek at 9 o clock at night.

Surely the Monaghan Armagh game will be the live game.

Indeed, and we're well used to it by now

I assume that the Sky game on Saturday 22nd will be Tyrone/Longford?
They wont show a 7pm game same time as Munster Final on RTE would they?

    Any thoughts?

Actually just read that Sky have given up their Qualifier game on the 22nd, to allow another game later in the year. So no qualifiers/games on Sky that weekend at all..

Therefore no reason for all games not to be at 5....

Yeah crazy scheduling from the GAA.
You would swear GAA/RTE/SKY are not on speaking terms, and the GAA does this to annoy the broadcasters.

I would assume Sky would have have wanted Mayo or Monaghan games, RTE put them on at 7pm same time as Munster Final on RTE, so Sky threw a tantrum and said they wouldn't show any!!

    laughable

And anyway there was no logical reason for the Monaghan and Mayo games to be on at 7pm regardless, due to the fact that the Munster Final is on at 7pm.

Also no logical reason that the Cork/Clare match can't be streamed live on RTE.ie. Seems to be ok for soccer world cups and rugby world cups etc but according to RTEGAA they can only show one live game at a time. I presume thats so that they don't take over the 2 terrestrial tv channels. Surely theres no reason other than the lack of forward planning as to why the game can't be streamed

Having tried to watch a game on the RTE Player, it's too painful an experience!

The logical reason is to encourage people to go to matches. If you are in America chances are you're not going to be able to see your local NFL team on TV.

Bad enough they have shown barely any football so far. Monaghan Armagh would be a good game and Down Mayo also. I reckon Armagh will knock out Monaghan. Everyone will then be saying why wasn't it on tv.

The TV coverage of Gaelic Football from "analysis" to games is so so poor.

I'm afraid the raised ticket prices and other issues have helped kill that. Neutrals no longer attend matches they way they used to. Just means now only the fans from each county who go can see these games. Shouldn't be the case at this stage of championship.

Agreed bringing a family to 4 round robin games and then a Munster final would see you put a serious dent in €1,000. People have to pick and choose , just frustrated that I won't be able to watch the Clare/Cork game live when the technology is there. a) RTE have live streamed before and b) there will be cameras and commentary teams there.
