Dana said the UFC pulled him from 200 because he wouldn't attend the press conference in Vegas at the weekend. There had been a big photo shoot booked and a mini press tour. Conor said he didn't want to disrupt his camp and that he was in Iceland.

Yeah just read that. After all the touring & press conferences he has done previously skipping out on 1(considering he would have to travel for just the weekend) so a harsh reaction to pull him. Unless maybe there is some other backstory and this is just the pre hype to a different fight in future.

Conor possibly realises he may have peaked popularity wise and needs to make the bulk of his cash in the next couple of years

If WWE could offer big money surely it would be stupid to turn down

Whut?.. there crew members with large signs prompting the audience to cheer and laugh on these chat shows.

Did you watch those interviews? The audience genuinely loved him and were laughing at all his quips....they weren't just politely applauding him.

Can't really agree here. Charisma for me is not Conor. Far too manufactured and forced. Hyped is a better word. He has been hyped for quite a while now. But fair play to him for making as much money as possible and getting out. He is involved in a very danagerous activity.

I'd argue that he didn't make that much money on his fighting skills alone (considering how much he'd made before he proved anything) but you're entitled to your opinion on him too. I personally could watch him speak for hours.

WWE @ 5'9 & 170lbs. Who will he be fighting? The women?

McGregor is only interesting if you're a complete fanboy or want to see him fall hard coz he runs his mouth.

If you dont have a twitter account though does it matter?.. like a tree failling in the woods deal.

anyways in my opinion its all a bit trite and overhyped.

Sounds to me like Dana wasn't really interested in this rematch anyway and was forced into it by Conor originally.

It hasn't really got everyone excited for UFC200 and probably isn't worthy of headlining it.

He took the 1st opportunity to pull it.

we'll see if the replcement headliner will get more people excited than for Diaz/McGregor 2, but I doubt it, so I don't agree

He would have been able to fight in New York even if he fought at 200.

I always thought that was a bit doubtful. If he gets any decent cut or even a KO then he's medically going to be out of a fight 4 months later. If he gets beat again by Nate then his stocks drops a lot, even enough to maybe not be headliner at 205 NYC. Main reason though is dropping from 170 to 145 in 4 months to defend the belt, because there is no other fight they could make for him in NYC IMO.

Rory's headlining an event 3 weeks before so don't get any hopes up.

I'm sure UFC could put a decent spin on retiree vs retiree fight for when Conor & GSP decent to end their little breaks :D

Is the 'cheese' he mentions an awkward reference to steroids?

It's literally on the first line of the section on USA slang.

Ah, he didn't specify what type of cheese...

Apparently 'cheese' can also refer to smegma :o

Is it not a bit odd he's training in Iceland in the first place, surly the facilities are not any better than more convenient locations for press conferences etc he knew he would have to do?

It's probably a place where he can focus on training and not have the same distractions as he's have in the US.

Appparently he's back in Ireland now. I'd say he'll make an appearance at the WWE event in Dublin.

He's 7cm taller than Rey Mysterio. He doesn't need to match up in wrestling. It's not a real contest anyway.
He has drawing power whether you like him or not.

Jesus I hate wrestling with a passion. Worst sport ever.

If he did join it, ah its not worth thinking about.

I can't speak for others but personally I have no interest at all in watching him "compete" in WWE.

On that note, will mods have to move this thread if he quits UFC and joins WWE? :pac:

I've no interest either, but the option is there for him to make money if he chooses. It would be a step back for him I think.

It will be like a scene out of the walking dead when someone makes a noise to distract the dead people. Trolls bumping into eachother everywhere trying to work out where to go next
