Lads just wondering do yee all know that there's a high chance that yee will be inspected on the farm by the department just like other schemes like early retirement for example.

Still no young farmer/national reserve payment yet. It's a joke at this stage, and I don't think my application is too complex. Also no beef genomics payment either

at last i got some info back from the department on the YFS.
" The department have realised the YFS was completed on line before the herd number changed to joint names" hence the delay in sorting & will be at least another 4/5 weeks before its resolved.

They have had the F***ing" forms since March Last year!!! - i can see the forms and the letters going back to 25th 3 15 on my agfood.

its absolutely ridiculous the incompetence of the staff dealing with this scheme.
still dont know about the national reserve yet

    any ideas anyone?

They haven't looked for any extra document from me since I my application went in. I rang them 2 weeks ago and she said everthing seemed in order.

Same here, emailed them last week and they said that same as yourself because the YFS application was made before the DVO could be arsed to change the herd number into joint names that the application was held up. The application to change the herd number was made in March last year and the YFS application made in May, Its hardly our fault that they couldn't process it??

I was told that these were being processed as a matter of priority but have heard nothing since. I did ring to check before I made the YFS application and the girl I spoke to in Portlaoise told me that as soon as the DVO changed over the names on the herd number the computer system would automatically update all our applications and form!!!

same as that, DVO & dept said both will match up, its a fairly poor computer system if it takes 12 months to match!!!
just have to sit it out & wait.
did you get anything on the National reserve or apply for that?

No didn't apply to the National Reserve the old man had entitlements on all the ground that we have and I wasn't giving the type of money that lads were looking for to rent ground just to claim some entitlements.

At least one man with a head on his shoulders . I see on last weeks Journal low value entitlements making half their value. No thought for auctioneers commission or income tax. No wonder farmers claim they can't make money

you were right some lads paying daft money alright!!
i thought though if the value of the BPS entitlements were below the national average the Young farmer gets another topup to take it up to the national average of i think €240?

Correct. More than half of our entitlements were low value so applied to nr to bring them up to the average

Yep that's the Young farmer top up scheme, the national reserve was to allow lads how had land with no entitlements to apply for entitlements for that land.

Well one idea is to NOT vote for Fine Gael or Labour on Friday as during their time in charge there has been nothing but delay's to our payments so enough is enough. Time to get our own back on them.

Got through to them today. Was just told it's being processed

Same bodies in department all the time. A different minister every few years makes no odds. Use your vote for your benefit. I don't think voting for populist parties like Sinn fein and Fianna Fail would do farmers any favours.

I disagree, I'd love to see O' Cuiv as Minister to see can he back up what he says.

I'd love to see some of his policies implemented but there only populist spouting. He was the clear loser in the ifj debate between the Ag spokes people last week.

I have been farming for over twenty years and the term of this government is the first time I have seen all payments held up across the board.
It's not just young farmers either but sfp das aeos glas anc tams all have been delayed for some percentage of farmers.
It's not the even the delay that's the big problem but the anonced and expected payment date and our budgeting around that date. for bank repayments and payments of bills.
What makes the problem worse is no information on the telephone either they don't know or are not allowed tell you.
The same department staff never had such massive delays in the past under other governments and at the end of the day the buck stops with the minister.
If he can't get his staff to get the work done and meet deadlines and payment dates then it's time to give the job to someone else.

I am a part time farmer and a full time accountant. I deal with the Revenue Commissioners every day and I have noticed over the past 12 months they have become increasingly difficult with making tax refunds where they are due to the point of where jobs are been put at risk. I have spoken to other accountants and every one is seeing this. in one particular case I have been dealing with a refund for a company and calling and emailing revenue looking to see when it will be made. after about 2 months they said we had to complete a questionnaire. took a further two months to get this questionnaire which has been replied to by us but not dealt with by Revenue. This week the company had to close with the loss of three jobs!

Massive payment delays across the water too.

Still waiting here too. It's gone beyond the ridiculous now at this stage. There complaining that the 2016 scheme might not open maybe they should worry about paying the 2015 tranche first?

I've rang the bps 6 times this week and all they keep saying is I'll email the people dealing with it and they will ring me but never hear a word. I'm wondering is there anything my local TD can do for me?

Did you get a letter outlining your payment details or just a lodgement to your account

I know this is hard to beleive but the Irish department is the best in the EU at getting payments and are the best by a country mile
