Nintendo buying out the Microsoft games division, stranger things have happened...

I'd love to see the HoloLens handled by Nintendo, I think that they would do a lot more with it.
Minecraft and AOE would no doubt be excellent too, and they have already acknowledged that they will be collaborating with MS studios/HoloLens for Pokémon GO and other Pokémon games
But I'd prefer nintendo to own it. :D:D

    And they get Rare back.

RARE aren't RARE anymore unfortunately. Otherwise I'd take them back in a heartbeat.

Even when they were, the craic of slapping a set of googly eyes on an anthromorphic animal and having it collect tons of crap had gotten tired, particularly with the release of the mess that is DK64.

Ya they kinda lost the plot a bit with the collectathons, Jet Force Gemini and DK64. I found that while Star Fox Adventures was gorgeous looking, the combat was extremely simplistic. They'd run out of time at that point(Microsoft acquisition looming).

If that rare replay thing on xbox one was useful for anything, its that a lot of rare's games do not hold up one bit.

I mean its still crazy good value cos I got it for like £10, but some of the stuff was just either aged or bad. Jet force gemini was one of the examples.

Started DK64 again last weekend. Already up to the race with the rabbit and am enjoying it just as much as the first 2 times. Maybe I'm in the minority for liking collect-a-thons? (except amiibo, no interest in them)

I loved Jet Force, played to completion, plenty of action.
And I had a blast with Conker too.
But DK64, just a sprawling mess.
Had they done a better job of editing out the fat it would have been a better more coherent game.

I must say, as the year is dragging on, I'm getting concerned with the lack of any concrete details about the NX.
Aside from the churning of the bucket of sewage that is clickbait headlines there's nothing else.
    Come on Nintendo!
Half Life 3 for the NX, as a launch game!

He'll probably talk about it at the end of March at the investors meeting.

He seems reasonably ok to be believed, he's Trev over on neogaf.

Reputation aside the info isn't exactly shocking or anything, it was always likely to be a Twilight Princess joint release sort of thing as time went by. The Minecraft thing was the only thing he said that wasn't much out there, even the 1 unannounced game has been previously 'leaked'. Still, good to have little rumours bubbling up before the big reveal.

Is the unknown title likely to be the big robot game we saw at the E3 in 2014?

Or is that integrated into Starfox Zero?

The unknown one has been rumoured as a Paper Mario of sorts. Project Robot and Project Guard have sort gone off the radar, that Starfox integration is definitely a rumour alright. They have the releases dates for both Robot and Guard as 'to be determined'

He says the we're getting Zelda WiiU and NX this year? Are the two different games, or is it a TP Wii/cube deal again?

Either way, holy hell, this is the best thing ever!!

    TP Wii/NX thing again.

I'm hoping the "unknown game" is Pikmin 4! Or at the very least, they release it on the NX.

    TP Wii/NX thing again.

Sadly, I will end up owning the two of them.
It's inevitable that I wind up owning nearly every version of a Zelda game imaginable.
Hence why I have about 5 different copies of OoT, cart, download, bonus disks, 3DS cart... It's an addiction!

The unknown Wii U game is almost certainly paper mario. Since pikmin has technically been announced already.

There's rumours about EA but they're scum and I'm about to conk out so I won't post a link.

If the other rumours are to be believed (Sepp Blatter and Licensing).

Then these rumours might become moot.
EA wants "a detailed plan" on how Nintendo intends to win over sports fans with NX
    - EA wants to know how Nintendo intends to build up a large enough "sports" audience on NX
    - EA wants Nintendo to spend more advertising dollars during televised sporting events
    - EA says both Sony and Microsoft spend a large portion of cash during such events
    - EA will be asking Nintendo to consider shipping NX consoles bundled with leading EA Sports titles
    - this would include FIFA and Madden

I see nothing wrong with EA and their requests for the NX and marketing going forward, especially as they are touchstones for the casual buying public, particularly in the US.
EA make so much money from their annual iterations of their sports licences, it makes sense that if Nintendo want to make a go of the format in America, and Europe for that matter, outside of the typical Ninty fan, then they are going to have to spend the money selling it as a must have platform for soccer, American football, Ice Hockey and the rest .
But the fact they are having these conversations and that EA seem to be comfortable making these requests is a good thing and indicates a move on from Nintendo and their previously held position.
Certainly, a NX with an option of a bundled copy of Fifa/Madden/Golf or perhaps a download voucher for the EA game of your choosing could be a great sales point and a way for Nintendo to embrace more than just their own excellent but devisive in terms of some people are just convinced they are kids games.... The fools !

Just thinking out loud. What if Nintendo bought the licences to FIFA, Madden, NHL etc when they're up for renewal? Then tell EA where to go. Not very realistic, Nintendo wouldn't have the experience or manpower to cope with the extra workload. EA also have other properties besides sports so they are needed. It just would be nice to give EA the middle finger. I don't think one of Nintendo/Microsoft/Sony would buy any of the franchise rights as it would cause massive friction with EA.

I'll probably buy NX then sell it a month later, then rebuy it again :(

Nintendo needs EA more than EA needs them. I think we (that is to say 'hardcore gamers') underestimate how important some of these games are to the average gamer, FIFA, Battlefield, Mass Effect, need for speed. Be pretty great (for the console anyway) if Nintendo successfully woos them. Maybe even gets that EA access thing for it as well.
