19.41 in the Tom Brennan 5k this afternoon, very happy with the effort, my intention was to average below 6.15mn/mile for the race and ran 6.13 average so won't complain. Lost good 20 secs i'd say on the two sections along Chesterfield Ave, got knocked backwards the 2nd time. Good honest effort to start the New Year off, now head down for Rotterdam.

Edit: Big thanks to the strange lady along the finishing straight the first time around for the words of encouragement, later transpired to be BG. Thank you.

Glad you clarified as that would NOT be a good start to my New Year :D.

Well done on a brilliant time. Was looking out for the the black ensemble with orange runners but never spotted you. So I cheered randomly, strangely even . Catch you next time. #TeamYouth ;)

Don't believe you, you couldn't miss that lummox :)

What time did the lummox run?

    TbL

Edit I see you barely managed a sub 20 :)

    Well done

Edit: I only wanted to run faster than martyboy48 today in any sense, knew sub 19.45 would get the job done easy!!

So no change then for the new year TBL? Suppose it'd be no fun if you turned all nice anyway....

    Saturday 2.1.16

    3.5miles Recovery@9.56min/miles in 43min 46secs

Legs were still from previous days race & I was worse for wear from more than a few drinks the night previous. So glad on both fronts to keep this plenty slow, felt refreshed after it. Legs were good and sweated some craft beer out of the system to.

    Sunday 3.1.16

    10miles Steady@8.43min/miles in 1hr 27mins 10sec

Sluggish on the first couple of miles of this but once I got into it I throughly enjoyed it, was a glorious morning for a run with the sun shining. Body felt good to and was showing no effects of Fridays 5k thankfully.

So the Base building is done and now for a bit more intensity in training in the build up to Rotterdam. Coach has given me a list of adjusted paces to work off from here on in which I like the look of. Few tasty sessions coming up this week, bring it on!!!
