I understand that Robert Lennon got an extremely harsh red card so presumably will miss their next game

I've heard he got the red card rescinded this evening. Great news for the bridge.

What has been people's favourite KK game this past few years?
My was semi-final V Limerick in 2014 in Croke Park. Never saw BC as happy at the end of a game. It was intense. An 'end of the world' thunderstorm in August made it surreal. It was epic. Limerick threw everything at us and played superbly but we edged it, although not playing well. Hung in there in 2nd half with heart and sheer guts.

It was a great game, and a great win. The weather meant I went home straight after and didn't really spend time mulling over it but yeah it was fantastic. If Limerick won it would have gone down in history and I think they'd have pushed on for a historic all Ireland.

But my favourite in recent years was tipp on nowlan park. What an atmosphere! I knew we weren't all Ireland contenders but there was a sense that if were going out of not today, and not to tipp. Best atmosphere ever, a real last stand.

Yeah, i've heard a good few stories about that game, especially the atmosphere in a packed NP. That was a huge game.

It's hard to beat knock out in a smaller compact stadium with a sell out crowd. It makes for a better atmosphere than 45,000 in Croke Park.

It certainly did. I was on holidays and only caught it on TV in a pub - as usual outnumbered by LK and ABKK fans. The biggest cheer of the afternoon came when the camera panned on the sky to illustrate how hard the rain was falling. The game itself was a credit to both teams how they kept going to the end in those conditions.

The match against Tipp in Nowlan Park.
The quality of hurling was quite poor, but I'll remember the atmosphere forever.

Yeah, hurling is sometimes secondary but it's the occasion that counts and games like that seem to fly by.

Congrats to O'Loughlins on their U21 win today vs Glenmore. 2-14 to 2-09. Surprisingly, it's their first win at this grade since 1981. That's U14, U16 & U21 titles this year for the city club - some going. Only for some wasteful shooting in the minor final vs the Boro, they would have made a clean sweep this year. I don't recall any club ever winning all four titles in the one year.

Is T.J. not on the All Star Tour in Austin at present?

    He doesn't appear to be.

Mick Fennelly is though. Jaysus you'd think Cody would have him hibernating in cotton wool for the winter!! :pac:

True but he probably wasn't going to pass up an opportunity like this. I wouldn't begrudge these trips to the lads. Good to see an Antrim man and Kerry man on board also!

By the way, when and where are the Cats going?

Even before he was retired, I always think of John Power's reply when Cody berated him for being ten minutes late to training: "Brian, if I had your job I'd be here at 4 o'clock every session".

    Haha. Very good comeback.

That's the way the GAA at intercounty level is going now - soon it'll only be played by teachers and students!!!!

Yeah, but for all intense and purposes, intercounty GAA management is a full time job.

It's a full time job taking an U16B team these days!!!

Talking to a Loughs man the other day. Apparently they haven't decided on the management team for next year yet.

A bugbear in recent years was the (non) showing of the senior county final on TG4. According to the county treasurer at the recent annual convention, the receipts from this years senior and intermediate county finals was just over €100K. This is down approx. €50K on just five years ago and the trend is downward. Might explain the reluctance of the KCB to permit the live broadcast of the senior final.

Love that story. I think the only reason Power would get away with it is because Cody would think 'Nah, better not'.

Loved watching John Power. The last of the real old school hurlers

The county final is a big money spinner for the kitty and if on tv, it 'stops' a lot of neutrals from going to it. Most of them are in October, usually cold and wet and any thing like this puts the neutral off big time.

Maybe there'll be a time where counties will charge TG4 a fee for showing it? Not sure if this is possible though. Probably not happen but county board's will not be happy if they are losing out on one of their biggest paydays!
