Mmm. I'll be hitting the same road in an hour or so. Good rubber here too, sounds like I'm going to need it.

Yeah it's brutal altogether, little to no drainage on it, especially the flyovers towards Ballincollig.

Every single time  go to the back of a large car park find a nice empty part and still....

Idiots can't think for themselves, they need other vehicles as a reference to guide them into a space.:mad::mad:

I actually can't put into words how much that kind of thing annoys me. When it happened me last I was very tempted to wait for the owner to come back and ask "FVCKEN WHY?!.......JUST WHY THE FVCK?!!!"

Happened to me last night outside Woodies in Cork, picked a good quiet parking space with plenty of empty spaces either side of it, late enough in the evening.

Went in, got fleeced, came back out and seen some farmer wagon parked tight up to the Celica, says to Mrs.Fanboi "someone always finds a ****heap to park next to me", guy walking out beside me blips his keys to unlock the jeep to nake me aware that he heard me. I stood by my statement as the car park was deserted but Mrs. Fanboi nearly died.

Reminds me of a moment earlier this year... Parked in tesco maynooth and was enjoying lunchables away from anyone else. A hundee santaffy pulls up in 2 rows behind me, his unusually bright lights caught my attention. He had stopped, got out and locked when he decided to get back in, start up and park beside me

He was nearer the shop entrance so why go park beside a maggoty old car?

I started up and moved away shouting "park beside me now dickhead" or similar out the window

The mind truly boggles at those kind of antics... I could have called him something much worse. What was I thinking!

Got stuck behind an A4 driver with his rear fog lights on (and there are two of them...) for 20 minutes this morning.

After much flashing fog lights and full beam they realised what was wrong :pac:

There seems to be a lot of rear foglight **** this year compared to others, mostly using them in heavy rain, then leaving them on for a fortnight.

Decent drainage system inherent to those flyovers.

Also they're not part of the The South Link :)
The Ring Road / Link Road confusion by Cork people is very strange.

I'm only down here the last two months, don't really know the place at all :pac:

The stretch i'm thinking of has an Audi dealership below it, I think you use it to exit to Wilton?

If it's the one I think you mean, it's new. It was a Heiton's builder's providers until quite recently, and it's at the Bandon Road roundabout, which is the junction for Bishopstown East.

I found the South Rink fine this morning. Mind you I drive a six-ton canal boat with tractor-tyres. :pac:

The South Link is from the Elysian to the Kinsale Rd roundabout.
The South Ring is more or less the road from Ballincollig to Dunkettle that includes the bit by the Audi garage you mention.

I'm very curious... don't really know what cars people have here except for the soon to be engineer with the Megane

It's a big, comfortable old sofa of a Jaaag. Awfully sorry old stick, seem to have mislaid the old wallet. :D

Men, pretty much everyone I know refers to it as that, there's never confusion as to what they're talking about. Drainage most definitely is not sufficient on this flyovers though.

I see Topaz/esso are being sold to a canadian company.

I wish I was the signmaker who has the Topaz contract - just finishing off the Re-store rebranding and now another complete change.

Nice contract if you have it :)

So if there's an accident on the South Link and it's heavily congested, mentioned on the radio etc.... you avoid the South Ring to Ballincollig?

We just avoid both. The radio people don't know which is which either. :D

To be honest an accident on one cause massive tailback on both!!

The second flyover westbound by Audi cork has a monstrosity of a puddle at the start of it, hit it at speed this morning and it was not a pleasant experience! Itll wake you up in the morning thats for sure!

Coming from Waterford to Tipperary earlier, came across 3 car crashes which I presume were all due to the weather. I could barely tell the make of one car that had crashed on the M9! Cork Road (Waterford) is completely flooded at the moment too, about 3 cars had to be left abandoned around where McDonalds / Woodies DIY is.

Very happy i decided to stay home today :)

the Celica has spent the whole day running up and down the stairs and barking at the door though, it's dying to get out to splash in the puddles.

I travelled 35 miles only pressing the brakes twice! That has to be a record. Turns out my anti roll bar has moved to the left, hence it catching and making that awful loud grinding noise. Why it has moved is what is not known. Bushings are ok, but 2 new ones are going to be put in to see...
