At least you got a chance to wash them. I've 2 sorry looking cars outside, but it's too wet and windy to get out to them

I didn't wash my own but I might tomorrow most of my work involves being out in the wind and rain so it makes no difference. .

Yeh, aged well in photos which is all that's left as they didn't age so well under the bonnet.

It's reliable and quite efficient enough as I average around 35-40 mpg with a mix of city and country driving. It does need a few things done, like a new alternator, runs smooth otherwise.

Those 1.2 engines seem quite reliable and economic. They're also non interference which is a plus. Not powerful at all though.

The interior is kinda dated but I like the simplicity of it. The cup holders are great and lots of little compartments.

Mine's the 16v sporting model, so it's got a bit of punch, not much, but enough to make it not too boring.

    I don't have cupholders :(

My last ever photo of the Corolla.. Even the Mondeo made an appearance to say its goodbyes :p

Gone to Wexford, hopefully the new owner will take as much care of it as I did (or tried to anyways).

Mk4.. I reckon it must nearly be one of the last Mk4's made as its 2004, and the Mk5 came out that year didnt it?

    Ya, I've seen a good few 2005 mk4's though.

What made you go from the corolla to the golf?

Im going to be travelling from Waterford to Tipperary (90km) each day so I guess a diesel may be more suitable (180km trip in total a day).

The Golf is much more sturdier and nicer to drive on the road too IMO.

To be fair, as much as people seem to think they're terrible, I quite like the Mk4.

A good example of a TDI one is going to be a better car than a 1.4 Corolla, I would agree with you.

    Good luck with it!

Should that grille not be colour coded? Looks different.

Audi S3 alloys by the looks of it, they are usually 17" I think. Suit the car really well :)

    Best of luck with it!
