I am selling mine and I did a factory reset from the recovery and have now flashed the stock rom. All looks brand new and perfect again.

    Am I covered?

Possibly, once you flash a Rom it should format the partitions as part of the flash as long as you did a wipe flash and not a no wipe keeping settings

Factory reset leaves the phone the way it was when you first turned it on, with no Google account or apps. All your own app info will be tied to your own Google account
Because it's still there, just the data blocks get turned off, anyone with tech skills can get it back.

    http://bgr.com/2015/05/27/android-phone-encryption-factory-reset/

Do your factory reset in recovery, select wipe data/factory reset and it will wipe the data partition

    Ok, thanks.

So just do the below and that's it? I found the guide below (Because I didn't know how to reset in recovery?)

    • Enable encryption
    • Shut down the phone, and turn it back on while holding the Volume Down button until you feel it vibrate.
    • Once in Simple Recovery, select "wipe cache partition" and swipe to the right or press the power button to select it.
    • Continue once you get the "Cache wipe complete" message.
    • Select "wipe data / factory reset" and confirm to fully reinitialize your ROM.

Thanks for your help, Im not very knowledgeable about phones (resetting, flashing, etc)

Yes, that's it or very similar depending on what recovery that is based in.

Thanks. What way would you reset the OPO?

Boot to recovery, it should be similar to what you posted. Different versions of recovery are laid out slightly different but should be very similar. Clear the cache, then do factory reset

So if this app data isn't accessible to a buyer of a 2nd hand phone, what data are 2nd hand phone sellers worried about another person accessing?

I was concerned the buyer of my phone could access data like notes from my Evernote account. From what I gather, you say thats not possible? So what data should I be concerned about getting into the hands of the buyer of my phone?

    Thanks again, much appreciated.

Hey guys thinking of selling my one plus one, Been giving me no problems but I really like the miui rom I have installed and am thinking of getting the mi4c. What is a good price for the one plus one in good condition about 5 months old?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,181 ✭✭✭✭Thargor

When I bought a full screen assembly for my OPO, the one you can just swap out no need for heatgun and glue etc, it only cost me about €40, now all of them seem to cost €80, can anyone find a cheap one anywhere?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,181 ✭✭✭✭Thargor

Nevermind got one on Ebay for €47, that will do.

I'm looking at doing the same, from adverts 190 to 200

Guys, having an issue with NFC. I bought tags from Amazon, and I've been using it fine to change my profile when I get into the car to activate bluetooth etc. The tag recently stopped working (I figured I'd damaged the tag as it had been peeling off and may have gotten bent) so I went to write a new one today but the phone keeps telling me it failed to write the tag. But it can read it and tells me that it's empty. Any ideas?

    Incremental update out.

Im rooted and have some Xposed things installed.

How can I best / easily do this update and keep root?

Dont have time to trawl through other forums to figure this out with work these days.

    Thanks,

    gar

    This also.

Don't think there is a way without losing data tho.

Do you not just root again after the update?

    What is the update for?

What custom roms are people running?

I've been dirty flashing since I got the phone & my phone is always being kept awake by the mobile radio. So battery life is less than a day at present.

I dunno whether to clean flash stock or delve into the myriad of custom roms floating about.

I'm quite happy with (rooted) stock, but the mobile radio battery drain is a real pain.

I've decided to change phones and sold my one plus one. Can't quite put my finger on why but I never quite LOVED this phone. It was good at everything but perhaps lacked the looks or wow factor of other phones. I've gone with a Galaxy S6 Edge instead.

Cex on Liffey street gave me 244 for my opo. I thought that was an unreal deal considering they're 299 new! Mine was 6 months old but in very good nick in a case and screen protector since day one. Good option for those looking at selling anyway.

Cash. Think it was 260 credit. Unbelievable deal and saved me going down the adverts route and meeting strangers etc.

    What is the update for?

Some bug fixes (battery) and security upgrades such as for Stagefright. Small enough update.

I read a headline that there is an unofficial Marshmallow rom out, has anyone tried it?

The new oneplus X looks like serious value, pretty much same specs as oneplus one but only 5 inch 1080 screen. €269. Missing NFC and only wireless n but that shouldn't be a major issue

You gain a second SIM slot and expandable memory, must haves for a lot of people. You do lose 500 mAh from the battery and 0.5 inches of screen though. I think they could be onto a winner with it though, will do more to cement them as a company than the Oneplus Two imo.

Has anyone else had problems with the phone in landscape since the latest update? I seem to lose the three bottom buttons whenever I go into landscape.

Hey guys, installed Bacon Cyanogen mod 12 from OxygenOS, so much more customisation which I love.

Although I can't seem to install the latest incremental update, I go to about phone>check for update>then install, phone reboots to recovery mode but doesn't install the update.

Tried to download the .zip file, put on internal storage and boot to recovery and install but an error happens in TWRP

Anyone run into the same problem or any help?

    Cheers.

Yeah I'm on the latest TWRP version, still no joy

Can you try manually updating to the zip in TWRP?

Pressing the update button in CM12 did not work for me either, back when I used to use it! PITB :D
