He's far too spoiled, does no housework, gets coffee and pastries in bed every weekday, a breakfast roll and coffee at the weekends.

All he has to do is iron his washed shirts, and put the bin out

I'm going to vow to make him work harder.

I hope you don't make him get out of bed to put the bin out. Oh.. and.. could you have a word with my missus? Show her a few things, like...

Stheno, you should stick up a course on coursera or udemy. I imagine a fair few of the lads would be interested in getting the OH a nice learning experience as a Christmas gift...

Due an upgrade and am seriously considering getting the edge. It looks class. Will be my first android phone

If anyone is on a contract and is due an upgrade may I suggest buying a sim unlocked phone and moving to a 30 day rolling sim only contract as they usually work out better value*.

30 day contracts are often at least half the price of the equivalent phone contract and the extra money that you are paying is usually to cover the subsidised cost of the phone and you actually end up paying more than you should for the phone plus you end up locked into a 2 year contract. With 30 day contracts you can switch quickly if something better comes along

I'll give an example using Meteor and the S6 Edge:

If you get the phone on contract with the basic plan it's €449 for the phone + €30 a month for the plan (total = €720 for 2 years)
so the total price of the phone + plan for 2 years is €1169

A quick Google shows the phone on Amazon France for €615 You can then get the same plan on sim only for €15 a month (total = €360 for 2 years)
so the total price of the phone + plan for 2 years is €975

So you'd be saving almost €200 over the course of the 2 years.

*When doing the maths for this there were some examples where the difference was far less it all depends on what plan you're getting

my contract runs out in november... i actually have 2 contracts with meteor which i am looking at changing if i can get a good upgrade deal.

thinking of upgrading to the S6 on the two contacts to ID @ €51 per month for 12 months, phones @ €250 each.
now the plan isnt great (100 mins, 100 texts, 1 gb) but its a much better deal than a 24 month contract with other providers.

whats ID like as a service provider?

My brother used it for the 3 or so weeks he was back here last month. I asked him this question and I think his response was something like "It's fine". He wasn't thrilled with it and he wasn't disgusted with it but I don't think he was too pushed either way he kinda just wanted a cheap Irish number for a few weeks.

Personally I'm on a bill pay with Tesco mobile that's €25 a month for unlimited calls, texts and 15 GB of data. I'm not hugely impressed with the network but I also haven't had any major problems either. Gonna move to three pre pay which gives unlimited calls, texts and 4G data for a €20 top up a month plus you get to keep your credit

Aren't Tesco reselling the O2 network? They do that in the UK as far as I'm aware, like Giffgaff.

    just checked tesco

    S6 for 129 with €30 x 24 month contract with 500 / 500 and 15 GB

think we could have a winner here.

edit: works out €560 cheaper than 3, with a bill play plan that works for me

How much data do people use? My phone usually beeps on the second or third day to tell me I'm at my 2gb limit...i'm with 3 and unlimited so it's obviously a phone setting. My kids are never off my phone watching youtube videos..I presume that eats data?

Last month's data for me was 34.57gb

Yes video streaming is a data hog. You should try limit them to when the phone is connected over WiFi

That 34gb presumably is a combination of mobile data and wifi though.

I have a 2GB cap that I inevitably break, twitter seems to take up most of my megabits. I should really port to 3 considering they have the unlimited data thingy.

Ya I believe that's what they do in Ireland as well

I haven't had any problems with Tesco but I would def check out Vodafone and Meteor, possibly also Eir, before you make the decision as I think you get better quality service on companies that own the network rather than piggy back on someone elses network

I stick with Vodafone cause they have the best roaming options for when I'm up north.

What about the 3 Like Home stuff? That works amazing for me between Excellent Britain and Ireland.

That 3 thing is when you connect to the equivalent 3 network though I think.

Vodafone gives me 200mb data a day for 1.99

I don't have an Internet connection at home cause I have unlimited 4G and it works just as well. They really do mean unlimited cause I get through around 100GB a month.

Yeah it's when you connect to 3 network. Suits me perfectly for frequent travel to the UK. Also works in Sweden and Italy.

I never use wifi at home or in the office either, have unlimited data

I only just upgraded from 50mb to 1 GB a month data. It stil feels kind of dirty using mobile data instead of WiFi.

I only pay a fiver a month though.

I have to use wifi at home. The phone signal in the house is atrocious - currently on one bar 3G - never get 4G. Have to stand in the garden to make phone calls. Not a major issue but house alarm is Eircom phone watch and that requires GSM signal. Where it is in the house has very little phone signal so the alarm sometimes drops off the network and then beeps until it's put back on. Grand if it happens in the afternoon or evening, but a major annoyance when it happens at 3 in the morning.

Wouldn't mind if some vaguely relevant game was in Lyon actually. Handy train out and a lovely city.
