I contacted support again this morning. After lots of exchanges mainly looking for the information which I had already supplied the final message was ' I just reported this to the finance team to sort out for you'

    I await the outcome

Yesterday evening I got an email from support to give me an update on my issue. It said they were dealing with it.

About an hour ago the funds were lodged into my account. So far no explanation as to what caused the problem with the bank transfer. Glad it's been sorted. Did a €10 debit card transfer as a test and the money was lodged instantly. Will use this method in future.

Has anyone used this card to pay for Amazon UK in Sterling?
Tried to pay the balance for a pair of shoes after using up a gift card. It was only about £4. Revolut card showed £1 pending as soon as order was placed but then transaction was declined although I had switched some Euro to Sterling on the account and had sufficient funds.
I ended up paying with a credit card.
Revolut support says it could be the address used but I checked both Amazon a/c and Revolut had same address so I am puzzled.
Any idea what the problem may be?

Long story short here but a purchase didn't go through but the money was taken out and is currently stuck at "pending".

Revolut support say that it can take up to 10 days for it to be returned back into the account.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I used it on Amazon this morning, no problems. I set up a new address though as my existing address on Amazon wasn't exactly the same as my address on Revolut. I had a problem before with a minor difference in the address.

I had a transaction pending that didn't go through (no fault of Revolut) and it took 8 working days to clear.

FWIW, some positive feedback on using the card.
Topped up via debit card easily
Spent some of my free £5 (for signing up) on Amazon.
Have withdrawn from ATMs in Norway and Sweden this week, and have also used for purchases in Sweden.

Thumbs up from me so far!

I had planned on using this as if it was a sterling bank account I was going to start regularly topping up with euros and then transfer it to sterling and start to built up some sterling as I often purchase from UK online and I also travel over and back every few weeks, am I taking a chance by doing this I wonder?

It happens with all cards, it's a shadow payment and can take up to 10 working days to fall back on to your account. Hopefully it wasn't a large sum of money but it's usually as a result of the transaction failing to complete at the other end. The money is in limbo for a few days unfortunately

Back in Ireland no problems last night. Topped up with 100 stg. Converted to euro and pulled it out of the atm 10 mins later just had to make sure I selected euro when withdrawing

The App seems to be asking me to enter my name, address and DOB now (pretty sure I entered most of these when I signed up) but I can't get past this screen whenever I now open the App.. They're also looking for a photo of me but they can jog on if they think I'm providing them with one, I don't mind scanning my ID if it's needed but I don't see the need for a profile Pic. Anyway I seem to be stuck on this screen for some reason (unless the profile pic is a required field  ) Anyone else having problems?

I thought the reason they want a pic of you is to compare it with the photo ID you scan?

Makes sense I guess. I thought you only have to verify if you spent over a certain amount though?

It was only about €10 so nothing extreme but still rather it be in the account itself of course.

    I'll just have to wait.

If more than 1500 euro goes through your account in 12 months, they need verified ID.

I read somewhere (probably earlier in this thread) that unlike other cards the Revolut card only works on Amazon if you have the total amount of the item cost available on your Revolut card - it doesn't work for a 'mixed payment' e.g. if an item is £20 & you have £16 on a gift card balance you can't use Revolut for the extra £4, you'd have to pay the entire £20 with the card.

I definitely used a gift card and paid the remaining balance from the revolut card on Amazon about 2 weeks ago.

I had a disaster with this card today, I transferred money from my visa debit card to this and decided it use it for a PayPal transaction, so I got the email from the vendor and paid for it using my recently added MasterCard, first off PayPal tried to charge me in sterling as its a uk MasterCard apparently, I managed to cop that just before I paid, and changed it to buy in sellers currency, payment went thru and money was taken from card immediately, all going as it should be till I got a call an hour later from vendor. They can see the money in their acc, however there is an "under review, please do not ship item, till review is completed" attached to payment.

After a couple of calls to PayPal, they inform me that I can easily get vendor to cancel payment and money will be put back on my card, I ring back vendor and give him CC number to take payment again, but I advice him not to cancel pending PayPal transaction yet, as I want to see how it plays out.

During all this, I was in touch with Revolut, their only response was, "we don't actively support PayPal" despite me completing a PayPal transaction 5 mins previous to this transaction, albeit that was only €5 or some small like that. This transaction was close to €1000, PayPal indicated that it's possibly the size of the transaction that attracted "under review" to it, but I've been dealing with this company for a few yrs now and always pay via PayPal and amounts like that wouldn't be out of place on my account. As I type this now, payment still hasn't been confirmed on the vendors side so I dunno who's at fault.

I don't think Revolut is ready yet. There seems to be quite a few problems.

Some good comments too, as it's a great idea.
But it doesn't seem to work well or at all with many other digital payment options (Paypal/Skrill/HiPay/trusted shops/O2 money card etc..)

But they all work fairly well with each other.

On top of that it seems to have a moral compass :p (No gambling)..

    Would it be this?
    "How does Payment Review work?........
Wait…Don’t ship yet – Payment Status: Under Review

If the payment status indicates ‘Wait…Don’t ship yet – Payment Status: Under Review’, you should wait to ship your item until one of our anti-fraud specialists has reviewed the payment to determine if it is fraudulent. For most transactions, this takes only 24 hours."

Puzzled by the negative comments here - it's a completely free service with unheard of FX rates, that we can access in financial-services-uncompetitiuve Ireland. I've used many times online and in the ATM with no problem.

If you use it as intended (to save massively on FX) it's the best thing since TransferWise!

I'm putting my bad experience with it yesterday down to just a large transaction on a newly added card to a PayPal acc, if you actually think about it, it's good to know that PayPal actually put it under review as it shows they have the buyers interests when it comes to strange activity.

Anyway, as a follow on from my post yesterday, the payment did indeed go through at some stage over night and was refunded to me then this morning by the company I purchased from yesterday, so hopefully now that my card is also confirmed I shouldn't have any more issues like I had yesterday.

I agree it's a fantastic thing they have going and I plan on using it a lot over next few months.

In terms of support, they've been very prompt with replies with me anyway. Whenever the card arrives, i'll definitely be trying it out

If you're including or addressing my post above, I didn't think I was being negative.
I think it's a great idea and good for purchasing from the UK or another currency, but i don't think it's fully ready.
If it gets more customers from mainland Europe (if it's available there), they could hit big problems.

There's not such a need for it in mainland Europe as there are similar products available so hopefully that won't be an issue. We're stuck here with a major lack of options because of our crappy banks so it's no surprise that we've taken to it quickly.

Have to say, worked perfectly for me when I went to Portugal this week.

 Are the banks charging exchange fees for ATM withdrawal? I took out euro and seem to have been charged about 6 euros. I didn't take the exchange option from sterling which was 2%, as I had already exchanged on my app. But I seem to have still been charged.

I recently received my card and I have tried a number of times to top-up via my VISA debit card. However after a number of go’s I get this message each time..

“Either you submitted a request that is missing a mandatory field or the value of a field foes not match the format expected.”[/I]

I called them about it and the guy could see I was attempting the top-up’s but didn’t know why they were not working. I called BoI too and its not an issue on their side.

Has anyone else had this problem?
