Does anyone else feel like it doesn't even seem like the run up to an All Ireland final? I dunno if its all the pre World Cup rugby stuff in the press or what, but everything seems very low key, compared to other years. Even all the rare aul times Dublin v Kerry guff seems a bit muted. Maybe they used it all up in 2011 and 2013 and there's nothing left?

Speaking of booze...anyone who brings in glass bottles to the Hill needs to cop the fcuk on to themselves. During the replay, I stood beside a couple of lads who snuck in those big bottles of Bulmers. The bottles wound up down on the ground after they were emptied. In all the leppin about the place when points were scored and the half time rush to the loos and bars, it didn't take long for the bottles to morph into a nice big pile of broken glass. Considering the amount of women and kids in open toed sandals and people in soft sole canvas runners, it was a bad foot injury just waiting to happen. If it's something that any of ye do...have a think about it, ok?

This very quiet. I'm more concerned about where im having my pre/post match drinks.

Lot of folk in the meeja tipping Kerry - lovely!

No, I stick with the plebs for Dublin games, better atmosphere.

    I don't mind 705 to be honest. I'd rather that than 308/9

Lads, Tis Kerrys AI to lose, sure the dubs have not been tested and shure its Kerry who are the reigning champs, we've no hope

It's mad every big game there is someone injured that the media latch on to as a get out card. In 2013 it was Andy Moran for mayo, "if mayo had Andy Moran I'd tip them but without him it might go to the dubs"

Kerry are in that boat this year with Cian.

It's sad all the same that we are so reluctant to talk about the game for fear of the Muppets jumping all over it. Such talk is kept in closer circles.

I remain quietly confident, but also recognize it will be close either way, I think we will see some good football in the game, oddly enough both teams are capable of handing out a hiding to the other on the day.

Have to say i'll never understand the Irish preoccupation with being underdogs, or more precisely, not being confident with favouritism.

So i'm going to give an honest opinion. I'm very confident Dublin will win.

Couple of reasons. Don't believe Kerry are good enough at the back to hold Dublin sufficiently. Cork and Tyrone made them look very shaky when committing runners. Dublin are best in the business at that.

Secondly, reigning All Ireland champions invariably find it difficult to replicate the previous years form. Its normally just a couple of per cent but its usually telling. Kerry are probably the best county in Ireland in dealing winning and backing it up but i still have my doubts. They haven't met a side who were really capable of beating them this year so its yet to be exposed imo.

Heard this is the day of the serious tests for COS.

It is very quiet but sure what have we got to be crowing about.

Even Jimmy G is playing us down saying we've only beaten Kerry 4 times since the 50s.

There is no point looking back so far. We've beaten them in our last 2 meetings and well in the last one.

That's what we need to be looking at!

The nerves are kicking in now.

Slattsy, worst pint you've ever had?

    Blanch village?

Can't say I have ever needed to darken its door.

Worst for me was K3 on Liffey St. Many moons ago. I wasn't a stout drinker mind.

Ah it used to be full of them wimmins back in the day, but was night club quality.

Was in The Auld Dubliner on Saturday gone, best pint in Dublin at the moment. Have gone there a few times lately, and always fantastic. I'd no issue paying 6e a pint :)

I have my ticket since yesterday. Section 328, which is not bad. Not getting nervous... yet. We've a great chance, but Kerry don't like being beaten by the Dubs, especially having lost the last two championship matches. Still, we owe them quite a few, so hopefully we keep going and add another one.

No pre-match drinks for me. Going out on Friday night and to a pre-All-Ireland Final house party on Saturday night, but will be meeting in Meagher's after the match. Packed with Dubs, busy but comfortable, because most people head towards Drumcondra and beyond or to town, so not a bad spot. Pints ain't bad either. If anyone's going there, let me know.

    Hi all

Quick question - it is my birthday this weekend and my uncle has gotten me a ticket for the match on Sunday as a birthday present. I just need to collect it from Dorset Street ticket office on Sunday morning (apparently I cannot do it before then?). Anyways, I have the email with the barcode but it says on it to bring the card that I booked it on with me - seeing as it was my uncle who booked it, do I need to bring this card? My uncle lives down the country so I wont have the card. Is there any way around this?

    Thanks
    Sunburnt

Probably go to Smiths in Phibs beforehand. Although the pints were pretty bad there before the Mayo match, i dont want to break a winning streak (1/1).

2-11 to 1-9 You heard it here first folks..

Both teams are quality and a step above anything around at the moment, but I honestly believe Dublin have the edge and The Kerry backs will not cope with the Dublin attack..

Any time I have picked up tickets at the ticket office, I have been asked to verify the name and address of the card holder/ticket purchaser. Once I could do that, they handed the ticket over. I wasn't asked to produce the credit card, even though the terms and conditions of the purchase said I did. That was the drill when I bought GAA tickets on Tickets.ie.

However, tickets for the All Ireland final do not go on general sale to the public, so I am not sure how/where your uncle purchased the ticket, or what the terms and conditions of the sale are. If you are picking the ticket up at the official ticket office, I presume its from a legit source and not a third party ticket touting website. If your uncle is ok with you having it, it may be no harm to know the credit card number and the exact billing name and address, as you'll probably be asked for at least one of them.

    I do have a problem paying 6euro a pint.

Used to myself. But on my average night out (8/10pints) every 2/3 weeks at best it doesn't add up to much for having the craic winding up some tourists in Temple Bar!

Might also double check the Sunday opening as from memory can't recall seeing it open but then again all rules are out the window on AI day

Only thinking of the days you could get a right good fill up nice an early in Berminghams on Dorset Street, the secret knock opened many a door - fellas must've slept on the floor the night before an AI judging by the cut of a few !

How do people think the game will go anyway?

I can see Kerry being very defensive, like they were in last years final. Maybe even more so given our firepower.
Our half backs and half forwards running at them from deep will frighten the life out of em'. So they'll be very negative. Probably play 2 sweepers maybe?

Hope COS is fit, i thinks he's a huge player for us and a massive blow if he's out. Who replaces him if he's out? Will Small come in, or possible M Fitz will start with someone like Cooper playing the number 6?

    Dublin by 5.
