I think Earls is our best 11 by a distance but I had thought that Joe wasn't going to give him a run there. I'm happy to see him there now and I hope it could mean he's in line to play there on the biggest days.

I think we might well get beaten by this Welsh outfit, I think they might be targetting a win here a little more than we are, so it might not be the best day to see what Kearney/Earls can do. I'm very excited to see what Henderson can do, I'd love to see a massive game from him.

Our next two games are going to be like this. Wales want to put down a marker for England and make up for the pasting we gave them. England will also want to build some momentum and also make up for their awful performance in France.

Honestly I would expect both games to be very tight and if we lose both but are competitive then I'm ok with it.

I figure we will beat the Welsh this weekend and England game could go either way. If we win both were in seriously good shape for the WC.

Careful now, squad hasn't been named yet and the news is still very cautious.

White and Furlong would be our 3rd and 4th choice THs. They've got a fairly test ahead of them. White is going to start scrummaging against Jenkins and Owens, both of whom are very good scrummagers. The good news though is that their tighthead is a debutant and Jack McGrath can be very destructive, if McGrath handles him then that frees up Strauss to handle Owens a bit. Baldwin and Jarvis off the bench could definitely test Furlong given he's missed time recently. There is at least potential there that the scrum could be a bumpy ride for us.

    2 things lads
1 Joe never said he wanted a lefty on the left and a righty on the right. He said he didnt want 3 lefties in the back 3. Bowe Trimble and Rob does not contradict that.
2 Between Jones D.Kearney Earls Zebo Fitz and Trimble we have no idea who he will select

But what I can say for sure is they are all fine players and id be happy to have any of them in my squad. And if any of them get injured there is plenty of quality backup

ps. still kinda hope felix misses out

I think your maths is wrong.
    We have let's say 3 SH + 3 OH + Henshaw & Payne + Kearney = 9
That leaves 5 out of Bowe, Zebo, Earls, Trimble, Jones, Fitz, D. Kearney, McFadden, Cave, Gilroy, D'Arcy, Reid, in that order of likeliness IMO.

We should also remember that 40 % of injuries to top level rugby players occurs during training. Then there are the little matters of Wales and England to battle with. In the 3 weeks or so running up to kick off, someone will end up getting crocked in more than a few teams. The guys who don't get selected but are on standby are vitally important. Let's hope none of our guys falls into this category and that the likes of Healy, Moore and Trimble - if selected - make good continuations to their recoveries. 3 weeks is a good period for extra rehab.

Think Fitz is ahead of Jones actually, I don't think Jones will make the squad.

So, you think Moore wiil make it, whatever White does Saturday, and the fact he didn't play a single minute with Ireland?

He did say that he liked a lefty on the left wing because they are a kicking threat straight down the line.

You are right though, he didn't want to play Fitz on the right wing if both Zebo & R Kearney are playing.

I'm not speculating, simply using the name of an injured player to make a point. I would take White anyway. He would have been capped but for injury.

Yes, great for him to get the 2 caps, but now Moore back and White to Connacht, please:D

Trimble and Bowe confirmed to start for Ulster, along with Tuohy and Gilroy.

The Bowe inclusion is interesting; gives weight to the rumour that he's struggling to get up to speed?

Strange that Cave hasn't been released to play for Ulster. I can't work that out. That would suggest he is still.part of the conversation, unless he is the 24th man I suppose.

Felix Jones on the bench eh. I didn't think we would see him again in the warmups.

He isnt really warming up. He is just covering a spot in case of injury so that those warming up can continue to do so in this game.
Its a tough stint, and surely disappointing to him, but thems the breaks.

And Boss named as a sub for leinster??. What use is 15 minutes to him there

Not necessarily 15 minutes. Eitherway, the aim is not to risk him getting injured. He is up to speed and ready to go and doesnt need further practice.

Listen, we understand that you want Marmion to go and that you don't rate Boss but the guy is an experienced, competent international and if he get's picked for the 31 I hope you are supporting him as much as the rest of the team whether they are from Connacht, Munster, Ulster or NZ.

    Or Leinster.

Don't pretend I'm anti-Leinster. I support Madigan, Fitz and Strauss to be selected instead of other good players. Really:)
But the "he doesn't need more practice" when he played 60 avarage min (I'm kind) against Scot A, NO...
