Gosh everything is very quiet on this thread! Everyone must be getting busy! :D

    How is everyone??

I'm still waiting for my period. On CD35 now. My average cycle is 32 days but it's not unusual to be late. Have been getting cramps on and off so I'd say it will appear any time soon.

Was so tempted to do another test but HATE seeing that negative. :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 686 ✭✭✭Hollywood130

It is very quiet Dreamstar! Think everyone is out enjoying the sunshine!

The negative isn't even worth the test, maybe hold out another couple of days! Mine arrived yesterday, have an MRI next Friday so praying all is ok so I can get back to starting IVF, just hoping they get the results on time, my CD21 is the 30th so I'd love them to have the results by then so I could get going. In my head all is ok and the prolactin was high just because it was too early in the morning (apparently that affects it which I didn't know) and because I was all anxious to get out of the doctors asap as i was late for work, surely this affects it! So as far as I'm concerned next week will be fine!

Hoping you get your positive in the next few days xx

You're right - it's not worth it - and I'm pretty sure my period is on the way anyway - feeling fine about it though. :)

Best of luck with your MRI Hollywood - I'd say you're dying to just have it over and done with. What are they testing for with the MRI - if you don't mind me asking.

Course I don't mind Dreamstar! I had bloods taken during my last cycle on Day 4, when they came back they realised my Prolactin levels were high, too high to proceed with IVF, they were also high in January 2014 so they are sending me for an MRI to see if the Pituitary Gland in my brain is swelled, sometimes this can be the reason for high Prolactin. If it is swelled they can treat it with tablets. (think all that is right!!!)

Oh I see! I know it's a pain that your IVF was deferred but I guess at least you'll be sure all is ok before you start.
Best of luck Hollywood - will be thinking of you.
Organise a special treat for after it - massage or a nice dinner or something.
I think you deserve it! :o

It's a clomid month for me so it's been very busy alright :p I actually felt fine on the clomid this time around. In for bloods next wed to see if I ovulated and if so, I continue on clomid for another 2 months. If that fails, I don't really know what the plan is. I think I'll be finished with the coombe so probably on to SIMS then.

  • Registered Users Posts: 686 ✭✭✭Hollywood130

Defo sounds like a plan Dreamstar! Ah I know it's better to have everything in proper working order!

Good luck YH, hopefully it all goes to plan & you have ovulated!

So my period has finally arrived - 5 days later than expected!! Damn these irregular cycles. Although I have the flu as well so this may have affected it. Anyhow...here's to another month!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

Sorry you're out dreamstar, here's to this month! I'm still about, mooching in and out and keeping an eye for good news on the thread :)

I'm in really good form lately, definitely the longer summer evenings and brighter mornings, I'm definitely not a winter person! TTC isn't on my mind all the time any more because of it. Def still trying but not cycle watching. Swings and round abouts with me, I'll be back demented in a month or so no doubt :D only one month of Metformin left after this one finishes so I'll have to think about it soon! I, somewhere mid cycle at the mo.

    Hope everyone is keeping well!

Nothing worse than irregular cycles Dreamstar, mine can be but it generally comes early, which I prefer, least I don't have too much time to start wondering. As soon as I'm a day over 27 I start thinking could this be the month. So sorry you're out x

Can't wait to get some answers this week. MRI booked for Friday, day off on Friday too so short work week which I'm pleased about, I've saved all my holidays for IVF treatment and I'm going demented because it's June & really I could do with a break away from the office for a few days, 3 day weekend this week so it's something I suppose BUT it's not enough!

For those of you that had an MRI, did you get your results on the day? I know you get a DVD so I'm wondering why the clinic told me they may not have the results before the 30th of June?

I don't think I got my results on the day. I got the DVD but the analysis of it was sent to the specialist who ordered the MRI.

So have been looking back over my notes and this is my 12th period since I had the miscarriage last year. Actually can't believe it. :(
Have made an appointment to talk to my GP tomorrow. Just to see if I should be doing anything. Never thought it would have taken so long.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

Probably no harm to go have a chat dreamstar. Chin up, really hope things take a turn for you soon, you really deserve it x

  • Registered Users Posts: 686 ✭✭✭Hollywood130

The months and years don't be long passing you by Dreamstar, it's crazy... I'd definitely take some action now, do talk to your GP, take your time, get all your questions answered, maybe write them down before you go in so you don't forget anything, I always forgot stuff so I've started writing things down to ask them. Hoping things turn around for you and that this is your year xx

So not great news with the doc today. Turns out the cyst on my ovary has grown....a lot. She examined me - just pressing my belly and said it feels the size of a four month pregnancy!!!!

She wants a scan before the weekend so she's going to ring James' first thing tomorrow.

I guess TTC will take a back seat for a while.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,030 ✭✭✭yellow hen

That's disappointing dream star but on the plus side at least it explains why nothing's been happening for you. The worst is unexplained infertility. At least they can remove the cyst end hopefully you'll conceive quickly. I know you're disappointed but try stay positive.

That's very true yellow hen - guess I didn't think of it that way. Hopefully I'll get the scan tomorrow and know more.

Oh Dreamstar, so sorry, sounds horrible. BUT, at least you know about it and you are getting a scan, and at the end of this, you have a better chance to get pregnant AND your body will be so much healthier. I alsways find once I'm on the journey & it's not at a stand still I'm more content because you're getting closer!

Yeah you're right Hollywood. I'm just annoyed I didn't go to the doctor sooner. I knew I felt funny but was just dismissing it. I was peeing more often, getting cramps and feeling bloated. I kept wondering if I was pregnant but it was the cyst growing!

I got a scan appointment for tomorrow so will know more then I guess. I just hope if they have to operate that I can be done quickly. It's funny - now that I know there is something there the pain feels ten times worse!:(

It's always the way, glad you're getting seen to quickly though, that's great in itself. Good luck tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you while I'm having my brain checked :D hoping all is ok on that front too, can do without any more drama

Give us an update when you're done! And good luck! :p

How did you get on Hollywood? I had a very long day. Scan showed a pretty big cyst and I was sent straight to a&e. They've sent me home and I'll be operated on next week! At least it all moved very quick.

Hope you got on OK. Xx

Fingers crossed yellow hen. Yeah they said it measured 14cm! I am starting to see it push out in my tummy! So needs to be sorted ASAP. The surgery should be straight forward so hoping I'll be on the mend soon.

Welcome back Lucuma I kept track of this thread after I got pregnant first time so remember you. Hope you and baba are well!

Wow Dreamstar, that's great news, glad it's moving so quick for you, it'll be all over before you know it, one step closer to your little bundle of joy x

So I had my MRI on Friday, it was grand, a little overwhelming at first but then got used to it. They said the clinic should have the results mid this week, they didn't tell me anything. The worst that happened me on Friday was that AF came back, this NEVER happened me before. So my Day1 was June 10th & it was all finished by 14th, absolutely nothing until I woke up Friday morning to a repeat of the 10th. Rang the clinic, they asked me to do a pregnancy test (which I was SO reluctant to do because I hate doing them), which was of course negative, they started counting Friday as my Day 1 again. I have never had this happen me before. The nurse said it could be due to the Prolactin being high, now apparently this has been high before and I still never had only 1 week between periods. Well it's gone now again, only lasted 3 days, so I have to wait for the MRI results and take it from there!

Hi Lacuma, welcome back and good luck x

I thought high prolactin stopped and delayed periods. Unless the nurse means that it was high and then went down, triggering a period?

All she said was maybe it was caused by the prolactin, that it may have put things out of sync, that was it really. AF on the 10th was early for me, the cycle 25 days, I'm usually 27. I thought it may have been something to do with the Endometrial Scratch but she said it shouldn't be that. It's odd. Funny enough, I had symptoms with this period and none with the other, had sore boobs, cramps... but none with the first one
