Reek must have some part to play. You would think he might redeem himself somehow. The lads from the iron islands seem to no longer be a factor ??

I think Reek is beyond all redemption. He has been tortured beyond the point of any hope or despair. When he had a blade to Ramsey's neck in the last series he didn't take his chance. When he was being rescued by his sister we were shown that he would rather die than betray his master. There was never any chance he would take Sansa's candle to the high-tower.

It would take a very strange turn of events, I think, for Reek to defy Ramsey in any real way. It would be great to see, but I get the feeling that he would kill himself if his master died.

When Reek was being bathed by Ramsey last season we were told all we need to know about how far Reek would go to please Ramsey.

In the world of Game of Thrones, his storyline is the most disturbing.

The Iron Islanders (his sister especially) now consider him as good as dead after their aborted rescue mission last season.

I doubt that's the last we've seen of them. And whatever happens in the Barratheon/Bolton confrontation, I'll hope Waldor Frey comes back into the fold.

Don't think I was more delighted seeing Cersai like that in this episode, by far the best episode of the season!! Gutted they aren't following Bran Stark's story in this season at all

Aye, he is on Arya's hitlist so he will be back in the fold sooner or later id say.

I wonder will Arya even come back to westeros. Or stay in bravos like some sort of assassins creed story line.

But none of the people that Bolton shacked up with are to be trusted either. I'd say all those houses will be making all sorts of back deals when Stannis invades.

Sounds more like he is too heartbroken about shae to talk about it.

He might want to keep the story of the trial from her too though. The fact that he was sentenced to death for killing a king might not actually go down that well.

Yes, your point probably makes more sense than mine. After watching that last 20 minutes I was so pumped I think I had "**** hitting the fan" on my brain.

But on reflection, and after watching the sand-snake boobs scene repeatedly, I've now come to the conclusion that Tyrion will tell of his father killing exploits after a big time three way with Danaeres and Missandei, which I think is logical.

Anyone else finding Faceless Man's palaver "a man will tell a girl/a girl will tell a man" a bit tireseome at this stage? It's too Yoda-ish. I much preferred him when he was stealthily assassinating folk left right and centre instead of being in this Jedi knight headmaster mode.

Agree, it's dragging out. Initially I thought he was a cool character too

It's "wax on, wax off" in slow motion at this stage, time to press fast forward.

I hope Arya's story arch progresses somewhere interesting this season, but as you say, the Bravos Assassins Creed style story we are getting may be all thats explored this season. I hope not though.

Bran storyline to come into this season?
I doubt there is enough time. Maybe as a teaser at the end of the finale?

No Brann this season as far as I know. Arya has taken up his role of boring storyline.

When I was reading interviews at the beginning of the series, Arya's storyline was tipped to be the 'one to watch' by almost all actors questioned.

I was expecting big things after reading that. Not sure what they were talking about though with only 2 episodes to go.

They must be setting it up for the next season.

Has to be the one of the worst storylines in the show. They spent so long on it. It finally reaches the peak of its crescendo, and they ignore it for 8 episodes.\

I never wanted a character to be killed off more than Bran.

Where is Aryas story supposed to be going anyway? In the books or on tv?

No-one can answer here, but you can ask in one of the book reader's threads if you want some spoilers...

Am I the only one who finds Bran's story fascinating? I can't wait for his return in season 6.
I had read up on the history of Westeros and found the Children of the Forest fascinating.
I nearly creamed myself when they actually appeared in the show, exciting stuff.
And that one liner from old half man half tree guy, "You won't walk, but you will fly". Brilliant stuff.

    I liked it too.
At some times, the 'magical' element felt out of place but after what happened last week, it looks set to find it's feet. I didn't realise that the skeletons that attacked Bran etc.. were wights so it will be nice to see if he has a big part to play in the coming war with the walkers.

Ya, I get why people don't like Bran but his storyline is pretty interesting, especially if you watch the History and Lore videos that come with the Blu Rays (and available on YouTube )
    Plus his story has Hodor.

I think his storyline is interesting too, but it has been pretty slow. For ages it was just a series of campfires in various locations with Jojen acting all mysterious and clearly withholding information. I was practically shouting at the telly going "Just tell us WTF is going on!!!" My understanding is that the books and tv series are now level with Bran's story so I can see how they'd have wanted to keep it slow so they don't pass the books out, seeing as it's obviously going to be significant, but it was frustrating as well.

I think his story has potential like Arya's now but it is very slow to get anywhere.

There's been a lot of foundation laying with Bran's story, some of it being a bit tedious, but I think it's building up to something big and he's going to be a major player in the finale. There's been a lot of talk about Jon Snow being 'special', but I think Bran is just as special, if not more so. I think it would be pretty fitting to have the show end with the return of Bran, more powerful than anyone could have ever imagined, and putting an end to all this chaos, after it all began with him being pushed out the window and nearly killed. The show begins and ends with Bran Stark.

They'd want to hurry up because the actor is turning into a full grown man, people might not recognise him if they leave it much longer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,198 ✭✭✭PressRun

Surely he must be becoming a man or at least well into his teenage years by the time the books finish too? A good few years have passed since the beginning. How old was he when he was pushed out the window?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,673 ✭✭✭✭senordingdong

Who knows!?! There's clearly some anti ageing magic beyond the wall.
Sure Gillys three year old son is still a newborn.

I was actually wondering about Gilly's baby the other day! Surely he must be a toddler at this stage?

I would have placed Bran at about 15 where the story is now. He might be 17 or 18 by the time we get to the end.

I am, at best, a mild fan of the show. But that was fcuking amazing television.

Id love to see what its budget was compared to the rest of the season because it looked more like a movie than a TV show. Great stuff!
