The consensus seems to be that we will be more or less stuck in this chilly NW PM flow till the end of the month:(

Models aren't looking as good in FI as yesterday, but still looking like it will get up to 18 degrees in places tomorrow and in the days heads the Azones high is going to be more of an influence on the weather here, but ideally we need to see it shifting a bit further east. We'll see...

Meanwhile, it's a bright sunny morning here down south. 11 degrees at 9am ain't too bad. Should get up to 15 or maybe 16 here today, a bit more seasonal for May.

I see Saturday and nest Tuesday the 26th are been forecasted sunny but I need at least two sunny days together and preferable three to make my silage and the days in between look dodgy ,would anyone here be able to pick the best days for the coming week in north Kerry along the coast Thanks in advance

Nice bright fresh evening out. Its still mid April rather than late May weather though. Fresh breeze there. Forecast looks a bit better next few days but anything would be an improvement. Last night in particular was a very cold night around here.

Absolutely stunning out there today...Could this be the start of some decent weather, as there looks to be some potential in the models this morning:)

Warmest day of the year here :) 20.8C, if the sun comes out in the next hour or so again that might be threatened.

Any chance of 5 dry days next week for painting outside uninterrupted?! We are in the north east and have been waiting to start for 1 month.

Reached 21.2c here today in west clare! Thats despite only 5 minutes of sun! Its now 15.1c and rain but it was lovely earlier.

Was in Kerry past couple of days so I've no station data from there - but the weather was OK; rather cloudy, odd spot of drizzle on the windward side of hills and temps in the low teens - but 17C today.

    But the scenery kicks ass!

Back in suburbia today my instruments tell me it was dry, calm and mild with a high of 18.8C.

They tell me there were some sunny spells here, I'll take their word

    Currently cloudy, calm and 14.4C.

only 13C today but feeling a shade warmer than that. Next 3 days look average to half-decent temps then back into autumn conditions from Thursday onwards.

Listening to ME and looking at MTs forecast I am in a state of depression, Summer 2015 looks pretty bleak .

Disappointing day again today its 16 degrees but a cold 16 degrees very overcast....

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 17,007 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gonzo

cool with drizzle today and only 13C. Tomorrow could be the only warmish day of the month. the remainder of the month after Wednesday will see temps struggle to get much further than 13 or 14C with showers and cool nights. Could be lighting fires into early June.

Nice day here to today. First better than ok day we have had all month. Pleasantly warm but not scorching or anything and nice and sunny. A pet day here and there isn't going to make up for the dross of the month in general though.

Skies turned blue here this afternoon after many days of cloud. The sun seemed way too bright. It really hurt my eyes and caused my skin to smoke. It is too much, too soon.

    New Moon

Id say we got around 20mins of broken sun here in West Clare. Big contrast!

Disappointing end to May. Its noticeably cool out today breezy with showers. Some sign of an improvement into next week but really anything would be an improvement on this.

Lashing rain and cold in Galway tonight. It's like it's late October!

I got sunburned this day last year! I remember it clearly. The only burn you would get in this weather is windburn.

In Dublin, May is the sixth consecutive month with average temperature below the 30-year average.

Today it was 9C at 1pm after a hail shower turned the ground white.

    Not great.

2013 was much worse here (during the first five months - http://www.loughlinstown.com/wxnoaaclimatereports.php?yr=2013) but then July and August were significantly warmer than average here, so not time to give up yet!
