After a total wipeout on the Edinburgh vs Gloucester game I moved next week's gambling budget to this week. Broke my own rules but it paid off and as a result I'm just over 25% up on the weekend. Sorry for the after timing but it was last minute stuff as usual. :D

Toulon are currently available at -9 at home to Castres. Apparently Castres are waving the white flag at this and not sending their strongest side with a relegation eight pointer at home to Brive on the following weekend. Toulon will probably rest players after what was a very tough, physical final but even a Toulon second team should cover that 'cap against a weak Castres team.

Unfortunately they have a knack for doing just enough and not impressing me, I think they've been a team to follow on the handicaps this year but away to the Lions and they're the favourites, I'll have to oppose. Have to say I think Leinster will hockey Treviso tomorrow, forget what they did to Munster last week they're a terrible team.

the highlanders team is quite settled at this stage and they will be planning a better end to the season than last year.

i think the lions are reaching heady heights and if the season were to finish now theyd be happy.

PP has the lions as -1 favs.

and i agree about treviso, its just leinster have failed to do anything impressive all season :(

Gone out to -11 now. Toulon have named a strong squad, team to be named tomorrow.

Highlanders are probably a bit better than the Lions but with home advantage worth around 3 points I have to back the Lions for the win. They look very much like a team that knows how to win as well, I don't think they're much different to the Highlanders, and you have to bear in mind that the Highlanders have just had to travel a very long distance for this match. I think people are focusing too much on Leinster and not enough on Treviso, this is the team that Edinburgh thrashed twice, that gave the Dragons nothing to think about it. I think this will be Castres home all over again for Leinster.

Anybody else think Ulster -3 is a safe one? Munster look better on paper but their form has been all over the place this season. On a more optimistic note CJ Stander anytime try at 11/4 also looks tempting and same for Simon Zebo at 11/5.

If Munster get a TBP win and Ospreys & Glasgow don't then Munster finish top. Really good odds IMO.

Bernard Laporte has confirmed Toulon will be sending the seconds to Clermont. Clermont are currently -8 on PP and I'm sure that will move when the teams are announced.

RR are suggesting the following team:
Fresia, Burden, Castrogiovanni, Suta, Taofifenua, Vosloo, Bruni, Gorgodze
Escande, Seuteni, Tuisova, Yobo, Mermoz, Smith, Habana.

doing my usual handicap 1st half bet at the Sportsground, whichever team is playing towards the college road end will have the wind at their back.

Wipeout. How Clermont did not put a score on that Toulon lineup is beyond me.

Meh, it happens. There has been plenty bets where the reverse happened. Nothing better than winning a bet you shouldn't have!
