few light showers today so far , yesterday's snow in the shade is metling now, garden quickly returning to full green.

Sort of guess the rest of this event would be very anti-climatic after yesterdays surprise!

We could get some land based heating now which may prolong the life of the next batch of showers

Yeah I think we'll get some sneactha from that. Agree with WC any inland convection will be a massive help this afternoon.

I'm a bit surprised at how perplexed my Facebook friend list is at the inclement weather. March is a notoriously all-over-the-gaff kinda month weather-wise. :) My birthday is St. Patrick's Day and I've had balmy birthdays, FREEEEEEZING cold birthdays, breezy but cold and sunny birthdays and normal shítty mild n' rainy birthdays.

When my sister was born in early May in the early 80s, there was a scattering of snow on the ground. One of my fondest remembered snow events is a really decent covering of snow in April 1990. This weather isn't that weird. It's up there with people being shocked at hail stones in summer even though that has nothing to do with the seasons!

As my father says, weather-wise, expect anything except snow in July. :pac:

I would advise caution for anyone driving on the N3 atm. Diabolical driving conditions out there.

    Like driving in a timewarp!

Looks like the bulk of that shower will not fall IMBY (in Dublin 16)...looks like north Dublin will take the full brunt.
