I broke screen before Christmas and only got around to sending off for repair last week. Have been working with Cyanogen on a Galaxy S4 in the interim. Anyway - sent off last Tuesday, arrived back yesterday. It's in Belfast so will check it out on Friday but there doesn't appear to be any issues. Good service.

SwiftKey is going to be installed by default with the next update https://oneplus.net/blog/2015/02/one-swiftkey/

If you haven't used it you should check it out its really good, I've been using it for a couple of years and hate using any other keyboard

I don't like it. Fleksy is where it's at

I used to have swype but I can't reach all the keys on this phone

Never liked any keyboard bar the standard google/nexus versions over the last few years. As is usual whilst they were 'influenced' no doubt by others like Swiftkey and Swype the standard issued one works fine for me and delivers what I want. Helps to standardise on one across numerous devices and Google splitting into a separate app was a good move.

have been using swiftkey since I got the one plus but its been annoying me lately, predicting wrong words etc.
I like the look of fleksy, going to try it out now.
    cheers.

Got a bamboo swapstyle cover invite in my email today - they just sent out a big batch. Servers must have been busy as was getting loads of errors when checking out - gone through now though :) I was nearly going to risk buying one on Aliexpress glad I didn't now.

My phones taking ages to charge today

Are you using a different charger than normal? I find it takes ages to charger on a charger other than the one that came with it

Would those of you who moved from a Nexus 5 to a One Plus One recommend making the move?

I'm seriously annoyed at the battery on the 5 and I've still got the upgrade itch since the Nexus 6 didn't turn out to be what I wanted. I just got an invite my email too so really tempted to order tonight.

Do it, I came from a N4 no regrets at all.

My only regret, and it's hardly a regret, is that I preferred the size of the N4, I find the One+ just a bit big for me but other than that it's like a Nexus 4 but bigger, better hardware and some nice tweaks to a very similar looking Android system.

how much does it cost to buy the cover?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 232 ✭✭clancger

$49 plus shipping plus Parcel Motel... can't see myself spending that much

The soft black back is perfect imo, I love the look and feel of it. Plus you'd feel like a right twat if you put a bamboo back on and it slipped out of your hand and cracked.

Got my OPO the other day and while I haven't had time to sit down and go through all the features I noticed that when texting there is no return/enter button,Yet there is when sending an e mail also anyone know what way would be the best to transfer music from my memory card on the SG4 to the OPO.

using stock messaging? pretty sure when the keyboard comes up depending on which one you are using there should be an enter button on it.
    2
Google music through copy to the pc and upload that way or the red supplied cable

Anyone have any experience with not being able to charge their one?

A friend is using a LG charger and it's actually draining overnight with the charger plugged in. I have never used the oneplus supplied charger and always had enough charging current to charge it fast enough, I'm not sure if the same charger charges her though.

Anything I can do to figure out of its the phone hardware, software (causing a drain), charger or even the cable?

    What output is the charger?

I also got the Diztronic case McLove posted above after my official Oneplus case was cracking at the corners. Jazzed it up a bit with a D-Brand skin also, it looks goooooooood.

What do their battery stats say after a days use, reboot and try again, if that doesn't work try a different charger...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,391 ✭✭✭jozi

I think it might be 1.2ma, the one I use is 1.8ma and charges fine.

Will check battery stats later this eve. She's only had it a month give or take.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,185 ✭✭✭✭Thargor

Give the reboot a try aswell (it will wipe your battery stats though). Ive had slow charging before and days where my battery was nearly dead after 14 hours, reboots fixed them both times.

I use Swype Keyboard i prefer it over stock or google. Keep going back to Swype.

For you music you MUST get on to Google Music. That way whenever you change phones the music just comes with you. All you music can be stored on your PC at home and it syncs in the background to google music cloud whenever you boot up. That way all your phones are up to date.

has anyone bought or recommend a good docking station with radio/speakers ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 242 ✭✭HellboundIRL

Are the dodgy screen complaints or ghosting issues a major problem for this device or is it a vocal minority that makes it seem widespread?

I bought it last night but worried I might end up with this.

So. The reason my repair turnaround was so quick was because they sent me a brand new phone instead. The new one doesn't have the Cyanogenmod logo on the back and is running Cyanogenmod 11.0-XNPH33R.

I understand this means I've got the Chinese version of the phone? I'm in the North so can't test it out at the minute but think there's a risk I won't be able to access LTE on Three in the south. Any idea what it means for future updates, e.g. with the lollipop update due shortly?
