So. The reason my repair turnaround was so quick was because they sent me a brand new phone instead. The new one doesn't have the Cyanogenmod logo on the back and is running Cyanogenmod 11.0-XNPH33R.

I understand this means I've got the Chinese version of the phone? I'm in the North so can't test it out at the minute but think there's a risk I won't be able to access LTE on Three in the south. Any idea what it means for future updates, e.g. with the lollipop update due shortly?

No they've just stopped putting cyanogen on the back of the phones. Down to their troubles with them and that they're releasing their own rom shortly.

Has anyone here experienced any ghost touches or touchscreen problems? I've done a search on the thread but nothing turned up, I've read that people experience problems after the phone has been in a hot environment....something to do with the glue or something.

Has anyone experienced an issue with speaker volume when playing music or youtube etc.

Mine sometimes plays at a lower volume and then just raises up to the usual level, which is quite annoying sometimes because its such a low volume.

Anyone running the CM12 nighties on their OnePlus noticing random app crashes the last couple updates?

Anyone else having any WiFi connection issues with their phone. Mine was working fine till a few days ago, now it says it's connected but isn't. Only a reboot will give me a proper connection. Reading the One plus forums it seems to be an issue others have.
Running bog standard phone, not rooted etc.
Only a couple of weeks old, becoming a pain in the ass.

Apologies for the cross post mods, but I thought it might be worth posting here and in the invites section.

It appears that one plus are going invite free for a few weeks every Tuesday, starting at 08:00 Irish time.

I'm in two minds about swapping from my current LG G3 for an OPO - can't decide. My main reason would be for the improved battery life and I like the idea of the bamboo swap style case.
My biggest fear is buying an OPO and it being unreliable or faulty, as I've heard a few cases of people having hardware problems.

Has anyone used both the G3 and an OPO by any chance or done a similar jump?

I never had a G3 but regards phone being faulty, I never had any problem with mine and I have the phone a few months now.

i jumped from a Nexus 5 to OPO and had a few software problems at the start. phone might crash when calls come in and stuff! obvious disaster but one update seemed to fix it and no problems since. I'm on an iPhone6Plus now for 2 months and I have to go back to Android, iOS is driving me nuts. So back to the OPO or might buy Nexus 6, not sure.

Seems my WiFi issue is something to do with my Asus router. Phone connected flawlessly to multiple WiFi connections in work and in a friends house.

Was going to buy one of these but there seems to be lots of issues with them.
Wonder should I buy something else?

There does seem to be a higher level of voiced defects with the device compared to others... low call volume, random reboots, wifi connectivity issues, the dreaded yellow screen, touchscreen problems etc to name a few I've consistently seen on the forums though they do appear to be less frequent now so they must be getting their act together.

Just reading through the last posts here it looked as though there were issues with them
I was asking because I was about to pull the trigger on one today so wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing. :)

I wouldnt worry about the issues. There are some niggley ones i have found, but then i had some random reboots with the Moto G as well, and my One X's wifi was appalling.

I think (large generalisation) OPO owners tend to be a bit more tech savvy and therefore post on forums when things go wrong (looking for a solution/if it is a major issue)

Its a small start up company, when you consider that large fruity company cant get maps right, or to hold a phone a certain way to make a call, there is always going to be issues. However the thing is while they might still be putting peoples noses out of joint by keeping the invite list there * 6 days a week * they do try and address everything. sure there are bugs for every company. sony have the low volume on some of the more expensive xperias, so they are trying. havent seen the yellow screen issues since around oct, and pretty much its addressed next update

Anyone I know with an OPO cant list a single bug with it, anything you don't like can be customized away. Everyone in the Nexus 6 thread complains the battery is sh1t. Thats my favourite thing about the OPO compared to every other smartphone Ive used, being able to be a power user with it out and about, use it as a GPS on a drive, use it as a work phone, do all your browsing etc and know you'll be able to make it home with plenty of power to spare.

    Absolutely.
My point really was that its easy for someone to assume a higher amount of defects exist on the oneplus one solely from readying what's written on the forums. They listen to the OPO community and fix the problems which is really great.
As naughtb4 said, I think it might be because most of the people that own OPOs are fairly tech savvy compared to the average 'walk in to a shop' consumer and maybe a little bit more visible on the internet as a result.

The battery is one thing that almost made me jump ship and buy an OPO in today's sale, it seems amazing. I really considered switching from my LG G3 for an OPO almost solely for the battery. Decided to just keep the G3 and buy a spare battery and stick it in the wallet instead as its easily swapped in an emergency and I do really like the G3, just the battery kinda sucks.

Have a look at the Anker Power Banks on Amazon, great quality for 1/3 of the price similar powerbanks are. So handy on holiday or out and about.

Guys, seeing as Ireland isn't a valid country to sign up in, what country do people use?

    If you use UK it's £269 (€362) or Netherlands it's €299
I'm assuming you don't sign up outside of EU, due to possible customs excise?

People use a mail forwarding company to get the phone to Ireland as oneplus dont deliver here. Options are UK with Parcel Motel or Germany with Mailboxde. i.e you ship it to the mail forwarding address and they send it on to you then.
I believe UK with Parcel Motel is the most straight forward and fastest, but costs a few quid more due to exchange rate.

Would the Holland one be an issue to get it delivered to PM?
    It seems the cheapest option.

Sweet, so looking at about €325 from DE, but longer waiting times from mailboxde or about €385 from UK sent to PM, which I should get the following morning!

    Thanks for that :)

Bare in mind that there's costs associated with both mail forwarding companies. So its phone + delivery from OPO + mail forwarding cost.

I've never used mailboxde, so have no idea what they charge, but PM is €3.95.

To use the Holland option, you would need to find someone or some service that could send the phone to you.

PM = UK only address then forwarded to Ireland
mailboxde = Germany only address then forwarded to Ireland

Sorry for confusion vectra, I just picked Holland as it's on the continent and pricing would be in EUR, but Germany is just as good. And I had a quick google for Dutch parcel forwarding and couldn't find much!

Yeah I broke it down in my head as Germany being €300 for phone, €10 for p+p to mailboxde and €15 for forwarding to IE.

For UK that was €365 for phone, €15 for p+p to PM and €5 for PM to me.

Just approximate pricing was all, trying to get my head around the price difference. It's definitely more than €50 in the difference though :(

I've just gone down the Mailboxde.com route today if it gives you any assurance!
The extra few days wait is worth the >50 euro saving IMO

Cool thanks, I'll think about it anyway :)
There's a thread in BA also today, seggesting using DE site and mailboxde for delivery.

I just realised that this is the OPO's owners thread.
Sorry for all the off topic guys :o
