I know people hate grammar nazis, but if that's how he's selling himself, it just looks careless

Didn't even notice the dates ^^

    Anyway I'm sure he's lovely
    that sir made me laugh.

he is actually a nice bloke but again as in mentioned - its his delivery and IMO you only get good at delivery when you've worked with a couple hundred clients years after years

+1000. I'm no PT but anyone with a basic knowledge of fitness knows that a 26 stone man jogging is going to be putting a lot of unneccessary pressure on his joints which is silly when there's several other types of cardio that would be just as beneficial to him for weight loss. He should be on an elleptical or bike but sure they have that all important 5K to train for........

The Facebook page makes me cringe sometimes. Not the posts by OT, but the comments from some people- this show is literally their bible for weight loss and they can't or won't educate themselves any further.
you cant help everyone as some people just want to do it the hard way and end up hurt

Anyone look at how much this guy is actually charging for personal training? 70 euro per session and 650 for a block of 10...nah, you're alright Karl.:pac:
dude i charge more than that so its not out of line with the top people out there.

plenty of good trainers out there charging €70+ and ive been mentoring a guy that was charging just €10 a session and he is a fantastic trainer (will be billion times better after im finished with him also).

price is not always a direct indicator of competency, who the person has interned with might be.

Karl had his dad (Pat Henry) as a mentor and even though hes a great guy his methods are outdated to say the least

    e.g. recently

    Pat henry -

"when you train with heavy resistence in the legs you will not burn fat"

"heavy weights will take away natural curves in women"

his whole take on nutrition is shocking. it reads like a list of old wives tales.

Its just a pity but overall i dont really bother as good trainers are too busy tending to their own grass

I was just taken aback, maybe because I'm a student and that'd be about the amount of money I have in a year. :p I dunno, I can understand someone charging that much when they're shown to get good results and know what they're talking about which it seems like you have, but this guy seems like someone that just got lucky to me more than anything.

    No protein

    I he I he I him
    Needs a bit of a revamp =/

He must have changed his tune recently because he came to an office I used to work in (about 5 years ago) to give a lunchtime talk on health and fitness etc. and was telling everyone that they should have at least one day a week where they just have fruit and veg juices and no other food.

:pac: One of panel was on the Nicky byrne show and said the exact same thing! Is that really true or total bs?

Your BMR does increase when external temperature is colder because the body needs to work harder to maintain homeostatsis, but the amount of calories you'd actually be burning that way would be negligible, never heard anyone actually recommend that for weight loss before!

The money you would save from not turning on the heating would be enough to cover all the sessions with Karl.

It sounds plausible enough to be believable, and there's no exercise or dieting involved. Lazy people with no real intentions of ever losing weight love that type of ****, these guys know their audience.

Given the amount of people who freeze their asses off due to Irish landlords' obsession with storage heating..... I'd expect us to be a much skinnier nation if it actually made a difference!

I must be the only one who finds storage heaters easy to manage...

Fair play, but surely more than 80 euro a session is abit on the pricey side,

I dont even pay near that for a entire month of MMA training and thats as often as i want, i dont understand how personal training fees are so extremely high!

More power too ya tho if your gettin it!

A good PT has dedicated a lot of time, effort and money to be as good as they are.

I've been charged a lot more for a lot less through work.

Edit: tbf the MMA training and PT aren't comparable

    Jesus Christ!

No offense man but I've been to chartered physiotherapists with multiple M.Sc. who charge €30 less than that for intensive hour long sessions! I'm sorry but no personal trainer can tell me they obtain specialty knowledge and skills worth that kind of money when other more highly trained health professionals charge less. That's one of my problems with personal trainers, there's an awful lot of going around acting like they're saving people when in reality they're just trying to see how much money the stupid rich people (who can't arsed doing it themselves) will pay! Do ya not get sick just of only training "people who can afford it". And lets be honest, the free stuff online is simply to help ya sleep at night ;)

If only there was a way out of paying that kind of money.
