Damn I need to keep an eye out!
I'll keep an eye on the relevant forums, totally slipped my mind! :o
This e36 thing has to happen though I'm foaming at the mouth for one everytime I see a nice example!

There's a silver 323i flying around down here that I think is for sale, owned previously by the mechanic who owned my car so has pretty much everything done.

Not silver, that is nearly my only call :)

    Is this a diesel?

Nah I'm like you my mechanic recently sold an 06 micra that I'd have happily bought, just want a car that is reliable, I do like the 407s though, but need a petrol so won't be buying yours as it sounds like a diesel

Ah, to be honest, I'm still not sure of selling it. I'll take a fresh stance when I've the boot open again.

Mine's the 2ltr Diesel. A friend of mine had the 1.8 petrol for about 7 years, I think (she bought it brand new). She said it was very pricy on petrol, but never really complained of maintenance issues (except the heater problem I mentioned above - her driver side was stuck on cold air).

I'll keep an eye out! Make sure you check the adverts on Haus/Driver though as a lot pop up. I wouldn't mind a 318is myself.

Heh compare that to a 2.5 v6 doing about 14 mpg

Imagine that's the one place I forgot! 6 cyl's are thin on the ground or at least it's hard to find a good one!

I sold a blue one there a while back,
probably drifted into a hedge by this stage LOL....

 there's articulated trucks pulling 40 ton trailers that are almost getting that.

Granted your 2.5 v6 would be a lot more fun to drive :) I never can get my head around mpg figures like that. Just too used to economical cars I could probably deal with 25 mpg but much lower than that. But then I suppose if you love the car and driving it it makes the costs more bearable.

I love the car, but three months after my gtv suffered timing belt failure, the alternator went in this car so I've lost all faith in alfas.

I've always loved both the 407 and the accord so one of them will be my next choice.

If my OH would get off his ass and buy his much wanted jag I'd just take on his merc

Damn thing always starts unless he leave the parking lights on

Well I suppose on the bright side you are owning a car you've wanted for a long time and iirc you don't do huge annual mileage so in that way it's worth it to own one of your dream cars.

It's a bad state of affairs when your loosing faith in alfas :) ah but I get what your saying sometimes you just want something that will start and stop with no drama although it's not as fun to drive it's nice to have something reliable too. Infairness by the sounds of it your oh's merc seems like a nice cruiser for long trips.

Pretty much :) My mileage is increasing though now that I have a nice car to drive, still around 200 miles a week though.

Nothing too mad either I suppose 10k miles or around 16k km. I recon by the time I have the golf a year I'll have around 33k km on it I have 25k km on it now. I have a weird aim to get it upto 300k km while I have it but that would take me over 5 years so thats probably not going to happen unless I end up with some crazy commute and still have it :pac:

I do over twice that a day on occasions in a car with less the horses of yours :D

Or very late at night I can put that mileage up, usually going round in circles at that stage.... ;)

Did 1150km in a day almost a year to the day ago - brisbane - arlie beach in Australia, in a v6 Pajero, 13 hours straight basically sat at 110km/h on cruise control only stopping for 2 tanks of fuel and about 8 gallons of coffee!
