I bet these tattooed heathens were at this 4star hotel on a Groupon deal.

    Disgraceful.

Is there a reason why they're often referred to as tramp stamps?

Always amazed by how much people are bothered by tattoos. If you don't like tattoos, don't get any, very simple.

Tattoos look terrible. There are some exceptions such as high end, expensive work that looks great but i rarely see tats such as these.

Getting your name on your arm or 'Only god Can judge me' - just lol.

I reckon teenagers should be restricted to small tattoos.
They always look terrible cause no normal teenager can afford a decent artist.

By keeping it small they can cover it with a much better one when they're older and have more money/sense.

I know plenty of guys who got tats before 20, and not one of them still likes it.

I like the idea of getting a tattoo, but can never stick to an idea for one that I dont get bored of.

When I was in college I heard one piece of advice that stuck with me.
Find a design you like, print it out and put it on your wall in a place where you'll look at it every day.

After a month on the wall, if you still think the design is cool, get the tattoo.
Did that many times, never had one that I didn't think was crap after a few weeks.

    just wondering there....hum
if one had to get a tat....I mean had to as in a strange life saving thing or something !

I'd go for the roswell incident inked out on my scrotum and then try to cover it up as just a weather balloon .......yes this could work

    Or slag tag.

The idea was that it would only be edgier, (Implied more promiscuous) women who would get them.

That might have been a little bit true 30 years ago, but whatever slight verification there was then, it's definitely gone now.

Regarding tattoos in general, lets face it, there are people with horrific taste in art, fashion and everything else. Of course they're going to get a tattoo that looks fcuking horrific.

I dont have one, but I have been looking at nerdy ones recently. These two are based on maths and I think they look pretty cool. I prefer the second one because it's easier to cover up if necessary.
    One
    Two

No,tattoos are the identifying marks of people with low intelligence,if you see a tattoed person you know you are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Was the hotel in Tramore or Arklow.

Get a tattoo if you want. That's up to you and I totally support that but be prepared for the fact that if its very visible, it may effect your professional life and/or social life etc depending on what and where the tattoo is.

There is a not as much of a stigma anymore with Tattoos but some places (a lot more than there should be) still look down upon tattoos and how visible they are.

what folk need is a minority report if one was thinking of getting a tat lol

Why 40? Will older people have better taste?
I was shocked at the poor standard of body art ! , mostly on bodies of locals....Was thinking - if there is such a great tradition with art in the city - why the body art was so poor ?

"Poor" is in the eye of the beholder. Evidently they didn't think it was poor or they would not have go the tattoos.

Where, how or why did you form that opinion? Trolling???

Can't stand tattoos - think they look ugly and cheap and in later years as they fade and people get older just look dirty.

I'd even go so far as to say as they would put me off a potential partner.

However all that said, what people want to do with their own bodies is their own business

    River Lee hotel ,

That's a lovely spot in fairness. Great burger in the bar, and rooms on the 5th floor are excellent.

That's a beaut! I wonder if I could come up with an urban version!

"That pile of shite over there gets bigger every day."

Hmmm...this is harder than it looks.

So what has age got to do with it? Shouldn't you really be asking - Should poor quality tattoo artists be banned?

"I don't have tattoos, therefore I'm better than people with tattoos". Brilliant post, I hope it's raised your smugness level up a bit and you're feeling better about yourself OP

Yes - but , I'm asking , are tattoos ultimately, the modern definition of class ?
No, they're the definition of people that like tattoos, and wanted to get one. Nothing more, nothing less.
There should be some regulations for who can get a tattoo(only people over 18 at least, maybe even older, around 21 or so), and who is licensed to give a tattoo, and unless you're a licensed tattoo artist you should not be allowed purchase a tattoo machine, and getting a license should involve some kind of test.
There definitely should be, but sadly, it's entirely unregulated in Ireland, so these 'scratchers' can operate as they like.

Please, expand upon your hypothesis, I'm intrigued and wish to hear more.

How is that a known fact? A lot of people get tattoos with their kids name or family member who died.
Was that known - as I didn't know that.
Yes , but that is not the point.

    Your pulling an emotion card.

I'm still saying - even the abused  should not get them.

    I'm saying ban them.

Are you some sort of robot from another planet that has recently landed and is trying to learn what it means to be human?

Heh, good luck finding competent staff in the ever shrinking pool of people you'd be prepared to hire.

I think passing comment on the lifestyle choices of other people which have absolutely zero impact on your life should be banned.
