You've spent far too much on your defence in that case. I'd downgrade Lovren to a £4.0 and invest that in your midfield to get in someone better than Arnautovic. Navas probably won't start either so I'd replace him as well.

Yeah navas is a hit and miss to start. but id like to have some1 city involved as they will score goals.

Just hard to know wholl start

I think aurnatovic will have a good season myself but ill see waht else is ther

Just downgraded Eriksen to Siggy to upgrade Dzeko to Costa. Costa seems a bit lazy but he's an ace finisher and I expect Chelsea to put a few past Burnley.

I don't like having Siggy though so I *might* downgrade Sanchez to Ramsay. Sanchez might need a few weeks to settle in and Ramsay looked far more up for it against City, but I dunno. :pac:

Costa will score a lot of goals I think but could also get booked a lot as he likes to get stuck in.

Is Koscienly out this weekend does anybody know?

Not 100% sure on navas or filipe luis.

Debating dropping hazard for ramsey and upgrading navas..

That's a lot of money invested in your Def. I would downgrade at least 2 of them, as previously mentioned. And upgrade elsewhere. Arsenal have a tougher start them some of the other teams, not sure if I'd advise doubling up on the Def. Maybe Stoke or Man Utd would be better? And also cheaper/same price.

And the main omission is no Mna Utd attackers at all? That's going against what most people here are doing. Most have Rooney and Mata. Rooney is running away with the captain vote.

    Food for thought anyway.

I've arnautovic in my team as well, as my left field choice. He was excellent towards the end of last season so hope that forms continues. He was in the top 3 for assists last season for midfielders as well I think.

I've posted up 3 teams now and not once got a reply? I want opinions on my team on where to strengthen if possible.

Throw it up again, can be very hit n miss

    GK - Green
DF - Terry, Evans, Lovren, Davies,
DF - Fabregas, Mata, Sterling, Eriksen
    FD - Rooney (c), Costa,

    Bench
    Speroni - Sigurdsson, Zamora, Targett

Rotate Siggy and Lovren. Destroy it :)

The only part I'd like to destroy is the defense; and that's only for the short term.
    1. Evans seems to be LVG's favourite defender (of the current squad) but he is a doubt for the weekend.
    2. Not sure what the deal is with the Spurs defensive setup. I'd considered Davies as well but I want to see how they lineup first.
    3. Lovren seems a solid pick and is a goal threat - but as a Liverpool fan, I shudder everytime the opposition attack. I want to wait and see what Rodgers has done to fix that before I start going near Liverpool defenders.
    4. With Southampton finally starting to recruit, Targett is another that noone can be sure will start. I think Koeman said he could be a great replacement for Shaw - but that remains to be seen.
So in my opinion there are plenty of pro's in your selection, but too many con's relating to each as well. At least in the short term.

Currently pretty happy with the strength and balance of this. Thoughts?

I had Arnie in one of my earlier drafts and have just shuffled things around to fit him back in. I touted him for much of last year and stood by him for longer than I should have while he was injured mid season and info about his return was very confusing. Hopefully he'll have a big year, he has lots of ability and as often unlucky not to score higher last year.

I'm going with Caulker also at the moment, he looks like he could be the next John Terry when it comes to attacking corners and other set pieces, he scored 5 league goals last ear and I'll be surprised if he doesn't surpass that this year.

Anybody any opinions i will start with Kolarov and switch to Kosceilnly when he is back next week.

I will also keep an eye of Davies and switch with Ward if he starts.

Diouf will score goals and i assume he is first choice and Stoke have a nice start.

Lad's anybody got opinions on the bench i know it is kind of weak. Out of my subs King looks like the only nailed on starter. I think Wisdom could start and Isgrove seems popular just not sure if i am taking a risk by being so weak on the bench.

What ye think of this side lads? Really wanted the big 5 of yaya, rambo, sturr, costa, rooney but my defnece and bench suffer cause it. Unsure of who to leave out though? I've seen ppl dismissing Yaya but the ma is a machine. Cheers

    Mannone
    Chambers Shawcross Ferdinand Bruce

    Yaya Rambo Siggy

    Costa Rooney Sturr

    Subs: Krul Ward Albrighton Wanyama

Sturridge out, Coutinho in, upgrading midfield while still having the Pool option if you want it.
Get Fletcher or Bojan up top then.

It's just too weak outside he big hitters IMO. Chambers is very unlikely to maintain a spot, Ferdinand won't play every week, Bruce could be shaky also. Albrighton and Wanyama will be two point men. You need to pick one of your big 5 and downgrade by about 3 or 4 million. You want a nice spread of points at the beginning of the season, when things settle down and form players and starters become obvious you can look again.

    Thoughts? Playing 343

Not crazy about Yaya and I may have dumped too much into the front 3.

What do ye think? So scared about Costa GW2. Happy other than that. Siggy to rotate with Lovren possibly for opening gameweeks.

Having no Man City Player could hamper you. Also if you could free up another 1 million and get Bjoan (Stoke) instead of Zamora would give you better options. I am presuming you will play 4-4-2, given your third striker, with Bojan you could play 4-3-3 or 3-4-3, also if you had a cheapie 5th Midfielder you (Albrighton, or another 4.5M midfielder) would free up funds. Will Targett play? You do have a decent starting 11 to be fair, but your bench with Zamora (Will he start - according to soccerway made 19 appearances last year - in championship too, so premier league is a level higher) or Targett (will he start, talk is he will replace luke shaw but he is young so who knows) means you risk having JUST Siggy as a sub (gw 1,4,11,12 are difficult ones for him)...

Also consider two average gk for example two 4.5m who rotate well, well and good having DDG and gilks, for gw 9/10/16 ddg has difficult fixture and so do Burnley / Gilks... Not a problem you need to consider now though as uniteds opening fixtures are friendly... Just if you want to free up 0.5 / 1m to improve bench you could downgrade DDG to a 4.5 / 5m GK.

You COULD get costa and wilshire for giroud and fabregas, whether wilshire will perform etc I dont know, chances are he will play deeper, or you could combine wilshire and siggy for 12.5m and try find a decent combo for the two, maybe one 7.5/8 and one cheapie for bench? Just a few suggestions and I could be totally wrong.....

    Thoughts?

Think I need help with a couple of the defenders.
    Terry is a no-brainer.
Van Aanholt I'm fairly happy with.
Moore - I need a 4m defender and he seems most likely to play.
That leaves Dawson and Figueroa -

I have Yaya as he was a big points earner last season.
I would pick a different No1 goalie, maybe try and get a Chelsea defender in there as they are always pretty solid at the back.

maybe swap out a striker for a better midfielder

He was but I'm just wondering whether he'll take 2 or 3 games to get going .

Lloris is basically there on a hunch that Pocchetino's pressing game could work out well for Spurs, but the likes of De Gea are the same price also.

Yeah thinking on re-working the midfield alright, maybe to bring in Eriksson, Young's there as a flier.

    Guzan: NO!

Other than that pretty good. Better options than Guzan: Krul, Mannone.

    Is Davies 100% to start?
It'd be a good move if so.

Personally I'm happy to (have to) have 2 4m defenders on the bench.
I'll be spending the next few days trying to find the best 2 out there. I've been hovering around Moore, Bruce, Hutton....
However, I've also been thinking of Silva -> Nasri and that 0.5 might be worth investing.
Maybe you could keep Debuchy, do that City switch and a 0.5 upgrade.

I know a lot of people here have him, but I'm not 100% sure that he will start at the weekend.

Himself and Rose have shared game time over pre-season. And in the final game vs Schalke Rose was better than Davies in most of what I have read, (and saw myself).

So just a word of warning to those with him. I'm not saying he wont start, but there is a doubt in my mind. I'd say its 50/50.

Kyle Naughton however looks set to start at right back and is cheaper. Walker would likely come back once he is fit though so would potentially be a short term option for the first few weeks.

Any other Spurs questions I am happy to try and help answer!

Solid team expect a few question marks over game time with: Mangala (Brand new signing), Cameron, Brady and Bartley.

I personally am not going with any Everton players given there start.

Mangala said himself he wouldn't be fit for the first game.

    Here's my tuppence.

    1zp4e2a.jpg

Don't think Yaya will play/perform as much as his price indicates this season.

Never usually go with 3 in midfield but assuming Long will be put to use given the money spent on him.
