Cant post pics as I'km still a relative boards.ie newbie (I think), but would appreciate a bit of feed back on this panel

    De Gea

    Felipe Luis, Debuchy, Davies

    Herrera, Silva, Sterling, Ramsey,

    Rooney, Lukaku, Nugent

    Bench: Krul, Sondgrass, Wisdom Ferdinand
If you have De Gea you will want to play him every week for the first 8 or 9 GW'S at least so you might aswell have a 4.0 keeper who won't play instead of Krul on your bench and use the extra .5 elsewhere.

Luis isn't a guaranteed starter. It's doubtful whether Herrera will be a good fpl player since he will be play from defensive midfield although that didn't stop Ramsey and Yaya last year.
There is better optons than Nugent in his price range aswell.

Are you planning to rotate your keepers? If not, save yourself 0.5m on Krul.

I don't see Herrera being a great FF player tbh so would be trying to get him upgraded to Mata.

yeah that's the team I set up about 2 weeks ago only looking at it again now,

yeah I'd agree mata is the most forward of LVG's midfield 3 so ill get him in for Herrera.. FPL Scout Section is plumping for Jovetic?

I'll scratch Krul for a cheaper option.. seen a bit of scepticism around Davies a few pages back? what dye make of the spurs rearguard, traditionally they've had high scoring fantasy fullbacks, walker, bale etc

Save the money on Krul. Lukaku is a doubt to start this weekend and after that they've Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man United in the next 6 games so might be best to swap him out for now.

I don't think so! Why do you think he will flop, out of interest? Cos I've just spent half the day trying to see if there's a way I can fit him into my team without destroying my defence!

not sure, just a gut feeling, wouldn't be the first striker to go from athletico to Chelsea and stall altogether

I think that having the Trojan and Ings will see you struggle. Especially with expensive defenders that don't look like keeping clean sheets early on in Lovren and Baines

Luis not nailed-n to start(i fancy he will - but still not 100%), Davies also not nailed-on, Herrera not worth 7.5M, Lukaku is not fit and has tough opening fixtures

    Here's my effort

That's a pretty weak front line - I'd downgrade Baines who has sh*te opening fixtures and use that to upgrade Ings. Hoilett could be downgraded to a 4.5 mid also to save you another .5 to spend up top.+

    torres, via Liverpool?

and as one of my more superstitious mates pointed out if your into patterns -> strikers that came to England from athletico

    1) - Torres - :(

    2) - Aguero - :D

    3) - Costa - :(

    Possibly ..

I dunno ive been reading that hes volatile kind of a player, wont take well to the physicality of English defences .. and then you have jose's old favourite Drogba to come on in relief on the hour mark whenever he's playing patchy..

    Torres was immense for Liverpool.

So, the only striker from Athletico to Chelsea is Costa - we will have to wait and see if he's a flop or not.

But Torres was brilliant when he went to liverpool, so the pattern is actually

    Torres :D
    Aguero :D
    Costa :D (possibly)

Having no Man City Player could hamper you. Also if you could free up another 1 million and get Bjoan (Stoke) instead of Zamora would give you better options. I am presuming you will play 4-4-2, given your third striker, with Bojan you could play 4-3-3 or 3-4-3, also if you had a cheapie 5th Midfielder you (Albrighton, or another 4.5M midfielder) would free up funds. Will Targett play? You do have a decent starting 11 to be fair, but your bench with Zamora (Will he start - according to soccerway made 19 appearances last year - in championship too, so premier league is a level higher) or Targett (will he start, talk is he will replace luke shaw but he is young so who knows) means you risk having JUST Siggy as a sub (gw 1,4,11,12 are difficult ones for him)...

Also consider two average gk for example two 4.5m who rotate well, well and good having DDG and gilks, for gw 9/10/16 ddg has difficult fixture and so do Burnley / Gilks... Not a problem you need to consider now though as uniteds opening fixtures are friendly... Just if you want to free up 0.5 / 1m to improve bench you could downgrade DDG to a 4.5 / 5m GK.

You COULD get costa and wilshire for giroud and fabregas, whether wilshire will perform etc I dont know, chances are he will play deeper, or you could combine wilshire and siggy for 12.5m and try find a decent combo for the two, maybe one 7.5/8 and one cheapie for bench? Just a few suggestions and I could be totally wrong.....
    Thanks for the replies lads.

I wouldn't be interested in Wilshire if 'm being honest but thanks for the suggestion. I have since changed my team that I posted up. Have Costa in for Giroud. No more Ramsey (a gamble), and replaced DDG with Speroni & Green for Gilks. 'm worried about Man City, but I don't think they will do as well as last season. They share points between the team too. The majority got big scores. Unlike say Liverpool last year with Suarez & Sturridge.

I tend to rotate Lovren for Siggy for the opening fixtures (Man City away for example).

Thought about getting the three big hitters in and going top heavy to see what would I could come up with, any thoughts on this?:

    Begovic
    Evans - Davies - Coloccini
    Henderson - Ramsey - Mutch - Fabregas
    Rooney - Costa - Sturridge

    Gilks - O'Shea - Shelvey - Bruce

    Is it doable????

That's actually a very good team. O'Shea and Coloccini will rotate well. Do you plan on rotating Shelvey and Mutch? If not, I'd think about going for Siggy + a 5.0 mid instead.

Yeah O'Shea and Colo to rotate. Hopefully Mutch continues where he left off last year. Henderson nailed on starter.
Was trying to get Siggy in but no-one 5m midfielder was grabbing me.

OK think I'm going to go with this (First time posting a team :pac:)

    62c0f32d8c828a552890e4b60ebec59c.gif

Had a team with Costa in it but I felt it was too risky in terms of starters and left me with a weak bench.

    Thoughts appreciated.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I think Terry's too expensive, and would look at cheaper short-term options like Chambers and Blackett, or the likes of Lovren, Evans for slightly cheaper long-term options.

I'd also try and get some Liverpool attackers in, given the amount of goals they've scored (even without Suarez). Maybe Sterling in for Mata, or Henderson for Siggurdson?

Doubling up on Arsenal could also back-fire, but Giroud is probably the best option in that price bracket. Dzeko, maybe?

Have Terry cause I want a guaranteed Chelsea starter, in defence I think it's worth the extra cash.

Liverpool have awkward fixtures so I'm hesitant to include them. Sterling/Coutinho were both inconsistent point scorers last season and Henderson was never a big points scorer (though that may change this season, I wouldn't rule it out).

Fair point about doubling up on Arsenal attack, may reconsider Giroud.

Final draft (definitely not round to make changes tomorrow):

    DDG (Myhill)

    Chambers Terry Caulker (Vlaar, Naughton)

Eriksen Cazorla Fabregas Siggy (El Hamadi)

    Costa Rooney Bony

My only concern is that I have two outfield Swansea players who are away to Utd.

I feel they will score & Siggy and/or Bony will be involved.

With that said, why do I have DDG in nets? I need Utd coverage defensively as I feel LVG will have them set up to keep clean sheets over the course of the season.

Any thoughts? Potential alterations in goals / defence to cover this (bearing in mind I want to keep Utd defensive coverage)?
