Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Today: out with those refugees.

    BUFS, 5x3 85kg, push pressed 80, missed 90 (scared of elbows)

    switched to behind the neck snatch grip pp, got 95kg, power cleaned 90-95-100

    Squatting snatch balance thing: doubles up to 60kg

    Hammer Kurlz+triceps

    Right, I can power clean, BTNPP, Snatch balance and squat without irritation. Will do some bar work tomorrow and see if the elbows remain attached,

    should probably start this again. Lifted in the Leinsters, hit 93/102 @86.4kg, lost 95 sn behind, pressed 106, cleaned 110 and missed the jerk. Elbow isn't too bad, I've been staying out of its way and making sacrifices to the tendon Gods.

    Decided not to bother taking any down time. Had a few conversations over the last while and I don't think I or most of the other lads and lasses train as hard as they could, so it's back to the grindstone. Going to push things on a bit more in terms of volume and intensity and see where things go, hitting a proper program again next week but just thought I'd do some triples today.

    Today

    snatch: singles up to 93, missed 95 and 96 behind.
    triples: 77-77-78-79-80x4
    C&J 100, didn't jerk 105, triples (on both) 80-81-82-83-84
    Back squat 4x9x95

    Felt good today.

    More 6am sadness:

    Front squat 7x5x100kg. Fairly ok, upper back was a bit fatigued from extensions yesterday. No biggie.

    leg extensions and GHR, only did 4 sets of 8 on 2 exercises this time.

    :(. I frankenstein'd it a bit to include front and paused front squats at the end of the week so it's not really Smolov anymore. I've to hit a 222 total @85 to qualify for next year's seniors, the only way this is gonna happen is with lots of squats, all the time.

    Got folded on the last rep so took the set again. Eh, that was kinda unpleasant. I'm gonna do another week with +2% or so. gonna have to split all sessions and ingest fearsome amounts of caffeine. I think I can bleed some extra from it. I'll probably die though.

    Power cleaned 106 (snuck up on it, three year pb)

    Today:
    Jerk 4x3 90, 1x100, 110, 115 (pb), 118(yeast infection)
    Snatch, hang snatch 77kg

    Pause front squat, 10x3 111...
    These were horrible and ugly as sin. paused the first three sets, missed the last of the 4th, did normal fronts from then, missed 1 in 7th and 10th set, took three singles at the end to make up for the misses. I'm now finished with the work phase of the squats, it was kinda fun in a sick way

    Up to 120 (5 kg pb), missed 122

    Rack jerk: 3x3 at 95, set of 4 at 100 (large pb). Blew the load on the last set so barely hit 110 on the singles.

    Snatch+2 hang snatch: 5 sets 80, jerks killed the pop on these. They went up though.

    Swole stuff

    Today:
    Clean, hang clean, jerk: 3 sets 77
    Deficit pause pulls, 3x3 112
    Some footwork
    Back squat up to 145 (pb) just missed 150
    Triceps and mid back stuff

    Wanted to start getting the feel of heavy singles. I think I can hit 150 next week. The Woman is going to be endangering my squat pbs soon so I'd better move them.

    triples on the jerk at 97, single 112, missed 117,

    snatch complex 82,

    front squats to 125 (pb), missed 130 twice, jammed the elbow onto the knee somehow, think I might have gotten away with it, strapped wrist and nurofen just in case. Will see on Monday.

    3x113, 4x128, 135kg: 5-5-5-3-5

    meant to be 4x5 at 135. failed the 4th rep of 4th set. Many sadnesses. retook the set then and got them all with a rotten grind. final reps in each set were highly unattractive.

    did some presses, wrist may have been happier.

    Halfway through the intense phase. All top sets are 135 and 143 until the end. I'm "acquainted" with 135 at this stage but 143 is kinda scaring me a bit.

    Had to stop the squats, there's "really really hard" and "you're going to break in two if you continue", this was the latter. Way too much back involvement. Failed a single in a 5th set then so just left it.

    Lifted at the club championships last night. Didn't really taper or cut. Weighed in at a Rubenesque 90.3

    Warmup was ok, I was coaching four lifters at the same time. Hit 88 twice a few minutes apart

    Snatch:
    88... Grand
    92... bit heavy
    95... Nailed it. 1kg comp PB

    C&J
    102... caught the clean wrong but it was ok
    106... Felt a little heavy
    110... I'd lost interest in life at this stage. Felt the right elbow wobble but got the lift 2:1`, 4kg comp pb.

    6/6 205kg total, 5kg pb with 238 sinclair. Pity my prep got screwed by the wrist but whatevs

    I would have pissed 100kg snatch but I wanted to hit 6 lifts and wasn't really sure of where I was after the layoff.

    Caught up with the press program, then...

    Intense W4D3:
    Back squat: 3x4x143kg

    First set ok, second terrible third not as bad. Last rep was very very ugly. I reckon I could have hit 5 reps in the first set. Happy to be finished. Lost a lot of confidence last week and thought I'd be buried by everything but it went surprisingly well. I don't think I'll ever make any of the lifters do this, the base cycle is just hard but this seems like it'll snap **** up.

    Might max next monday, I've no idea what to expect. Might just try 140-150-160 and see what happens.
