what would your country do if some terrorist fire rocket on their cities (not on idf bases... on cities! civilians!) every day? what they would do? nothing? rockets on new york or london will be fine by them?

When will the Israelis realize that you are conducting an ILLEGAL OCCUPATION of land, the palestinians have a right to resist. If saudi arabia came and took over ISraeli land would you shake their hands and leave them to it??

Israel is also collectively punishing an ENTIRE population for hamas' rocket fire.the 120+ children who never picked a fight in their life are teh ones you are killing and the inncoent women.

Have you seen the pictures of the 2/3/4 year old children burned beyond recognition???The lucky ones die,the unlcuky live thorugh pain you will never realise

Hamas didn't fire rockets for 18 months while Israel maintained a blockade on Gaza. In the West Bank, Israel has stolen large amounts of Palestinian land to construct illegal settlements. East Jerusalem has an apartheid system aimed at squeezing out the Arab population there; it has been cut off from the rest of the West Bank via the wall and Kalandia checkpoint.

The rockets are a direct consequence of Israel's recent attacks on Hamas and their punitive raids in the West Bank after the killing of three illegal settlers in Hebron.

Considering the Palestinians are having chunks of their country stolen before their very eyes how do you expect them to react? Your narrative of "defense" is utter b*llocks considering they are actively colonising swathes of Palestinian territory.

I'd ask myself why they were doing it and what their problem was. If my country had turned theirs into an open air prison maybe stop stealing their land and killing them would be an idea.

Yes, hundreds of thousands were forced to flee.

Secondly, he's referring to the occupied territories of Arab East Jerusalem, the West Bank, Golan etc.

    Ok, here we go…

    1. Not sure about administrative zones, and I don’t really think it matters. The majority of Palestinians in the west bank are under the Palestinian authority’s control, and the roads that the Palestinians are not allowed on are there because Israeli traffic was constantly attacked on the roads.

    2. If you spend money on rockets and war, how will you have money to build infrastructure? The west bank is only now starting to recover from the effects of all the years of fighting Israel. It will take time, but eventually if they stay on a peaceful track their life quality will be much improved.
In addition, go and check the average quality of life in the rest of the Arab world. I think you would be surprised by what you find.

    3. Settlements expand because it’s a natural process for any town/village/city – over time the population grows (mainly births) and more houses are needed. That’s the only settlement growth out there at the moment.
There are no new settlements (unless they are illegal, and Israeli fanatics love those), no land grabs or anything similar.

    4. The barrier stopped suicide bombers and that’s the only justification it needs. When peace comes, the barrier will no longer be needed. Until then – it is better that Israeli lives are kept safe by the barrier, than by the muzzles of guns and raids into the west bank.

    5. The IDF doesn’t conduct raids because it is bored. They conduct raids to stop terrorism.

In short, if all you have and all you do is dedicated to war, don’t be surprised that your life sucks.
All I see here is a conspiracy theory, and no link that proves anything.
I wasn't arguing about the fact that the Palestinians have ****ty infrastructure and ****ty lives, I'm just arguing that it is their fault for investing everything they have in fighting Israel instead of bettering their citizen's lives.

look, just admit it, you either haven't a clue, or are so blind to israels actions, or your extremely deluded to the fact that israel do wrong themselves while whining about others doing the same things they do

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

More nonsense. More than half of Palestine (including all of the best land) was handed over to the Jews. As terrible as the Holocaust was, I have yet to hear why the Palestinians should lose their homeland due to anti-Semitism in Western Europe. Upon the creation of the state of Israel, thousands of Arabs were murdered by Jewish paramilitaries and hundreds of thousands of refugees were created.

Didn't force people away my hole.

    This is funny.

We have experienced plenty terrorism in this country, as have the English, and neither decided to engage in any collective pushnishment on the level that Israel is currently inflicting upon Gaza.

But go ahead, keep telling yourself it's grand and moral.

Common definitions of terrorism refer only to those violent acts that are intended to create fear (terror); are perpetrated for a religious, political, or ideological goal; and deliberately target or disregard the safety of non-combatants. Bombing of hospitals and kids on a beach I think come under these headings.

if the bombings are specifically targeting children and hospitals Where there is no terrorist activity you are correct. Israel does not target civilians they only target terror activity and locations but there is always collateral damage in war.
Israel does not fire on hospitals, unless they are used for terrorist activities, and even then it supplies many warnings in advance. I am yet to see a terrorist notifying his potential victims in advance that an attack is coming.

Another thing: everyone in Israel seems to know that the Hamas leadership is hiding under the biggest hospital in Gaza, but the Israelis haven't attacked it.
If they are so gung ho on killing Palestinians, how come they don't just bomb that one hospital where the Hamas leadership is hiding and finish this was in a day?

Genocide is the systematic destruction of all or part of a racial, ethnic, religious or national group via the (a) Killing members of the group; (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group. The first 3 parts seem accurate enough.

Seeing as the number of Palestinians only grows rapidly from year to year, I have to deduct that the Israelis are just really really bad at genocide.

i expect them to obey international law and stop using jewdaeism and the holicost as an excuse for slaughter

Again with this "international law" thing?
I'll repeat myself - there is no such thing.
There are agreements, contracts & treaties that are signed between sovereign nations. Thats is the entire scope of international law - agreement between nations, and I doubt Hamas is a signatory to any of these treaties.

Your talking about UN resolution 181, which was voted by the General Assembly and as such non-binding, and either way, the resolution gave no provision of removing the Palestinians already living there.

Meanwhile, Israel has ignored UN resolution 242, a binding security council resolution, since it was made.
    yortem wrote: »

Regardless of there being a country there or not, people were forcibly removed from there home via terrorism used by the various Zionist terror organization present at that point in time, who were later absorbed into the IDF.

Sorry, I thought you meant civil administrative zones.
I am against the occupation of the west bank, but I do understand Israel not hurrying to hand it over to the Palestinians after the lesson they learned when they left Gaza.

Israel supplies to the Palestinian Arabs in Judea and Samaria 46 million cubic meters (MCM) a year more water than Israel is obligated to under the Oslo Accords. Feel free to check.

If you would have bothered reading through the link you provided, you would have been able to see that the new build is in areas which, and I quote “Israel says it intends to keep in any peace deal with the Palestinians”.

The last sentence you made is just false. I’ll just comment on the fact that there is no such thing as “international law” – there are international treaties and agreements, signed by sovereign states. I doubt Hamas is a signatory on any of those.

That was the case before the wall. Not anymore. People still smuggle themselves to Israel but not in such volumes.

I’ve been to Israel many times, I’ve even been to the west bank & Gaza several times (as a child, before the first uprising).
I have family members living in Israel and I visit there frequently.
I probably know about Israel more than most of the people on this forum, from experience.
so as i suspected, blind to the actions of the israely military and government

So if a sniper sets himself up in a Hospital full of innocent Doctors, Nurses, patients and treatens to kill anyone who leaves and takes some pot shots out the window. You beleive the right action here is to give everyone a warning to leave and then bomb the building.

the zionist propaganda machine would be prowd of you, hamas exist because of israely aggression, they moved the settlements from gaza to the west bank, the minute they left gaza they implamented the blockade hence the increased rocket fire, you treat people like crap, pen them in an area with nothing, and you can't be surprised if the people react

I'm curious - do you normally justify killing civilians over land disputes?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,712 ✭✭✭✭end of the road

Exactly, It is the fault of Hamas. Finally, you are beginning to understand.
Hamas have already admitted that they want more Palestinian civilians dead as an effective way to fight the occupation (propaganda) and that's why they instructed the civilians to stay in areas about to be shelled.
nothing to understand, israel bombed the hospital, no rockets or hamas people were there, end of

i was there. i know what i saw and i know 100% that we dont kill innocent civilians if its up to us but yes. children from gaza were kept as hostages where hamas need them!
    for example:
before we bomb a house who fire rocket or has ammunition we fire "little rocket" who doesnt damage the house to warn the cilvilans to get out and run away. sometimes hamas take civilians by force and go to the roof of the house and we have to cancel the mission.

Palestine (Arabic: فلسطين‎ Filasṭīn, Falasṭīn, Filisṭīn; Greek: Παλαιστίνη, Palaistinē; Latin: Palaestina; Hebrew: פלשתינה Palestina) is a geographic region in Western Asia between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River. It is sometimes considered to include adjoining territories. The name was used by Ancient Greek writers, and was later used for the Roman province Syria Palaestina, the Byzantine Palaestina Prima and the Umayyad and Abbasid province of Jund Filastin.
