Really Dempsey so you go on and on about the fans taking action which I would take as boycotting Ibrox so now it may happen your going to hammer us about it. Oh the Irony

How many thousand has renewed season tickets? 17,000+ as of last month.

At absolute best, a 50% boycott, despite all ye knew.

    Oh the irony alright

Agreed but 50% still hits them in the pocket many of the ones who have renewed feel they had no choice dammed if they did dammed if the didn't

You should just set up Rang3rs FC.

Few months back: 'lol I can't believe you're not boycotting'

    Now: 'lol you're boycotting'

I'm not laughing that you're boycotting, just at the half arsed effort being painted differently on here. There is a significant number still backing these scumbags despite all that is in the public domain.

Going game by game doesn't count as a boycott!! They'll probably make more money off the fans that way in the long run.

    Nobody says it does.

There's a certain amount of people not going to games anymore and another part that pays at the gate.

The latter one also deprive the board of a vast sum of money before the season, it's the next best thing after a complete boycott to still go to games without forking over hundreds of pounds to be squandered in one go.

It will also allow people to stop going all together if they feel they need to, where as buying a season ticket means the club already have your money and don't care if you show up or not.

Thousands of people, including fans groups Union of Fans and Sons of Struth have said they are going game by game. If a season ticket worked out at €16 per game over a season, what's to stop the board from charging €25 at the gate? Making a heap of more money from the "support the team, not the regime" crowd.

tbh i've been paying little attention to rangers travails for a while so before the usual slagging starts, any chance of outlining what exact this means in simple terms? not trying to wind you up here, honest

Not a lot in terms of the club being able to do anything about it. But it just shows how the footballing authorities the press and others shafted us without foundation

Read elsewhere, perhaps someone here could confirm, that the EBTs have been found by the courts to be loans, effectively giving the liquidators the green light to chase repayments from the benefactors on behalf of the creditors of RFC. Anyone know how true that is?

I think five have been outlined

It will be interesting to see the fall out if they are pursued. Presumably the recipients will challenge any claim

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,221 ✭✭✭bobbysands81

    Does this even matter?

This decision only effects the original club and company, not the current one.

Incredible to think that these 'loans' were in effect 'loans' yet none have been paid back. It's a mockery yet Oldco Rangers fans feel hard done by how exactly?

Maybe because the club has been found innocent in the vast majority but were crucified without trial so Bobby your damn right we are angry

Oh If they are due money they deserve to get it but its a pity many more are losing out because of the actions of HMRC the SFA Whyte Green etc

Not one of the recipients of these loans offered to save Rangers by paying the loans back. That tells me everything about the status of the 'loans'

Quick, get on to HMRC, I'm sure they'll use that as an argument ;)

Rangers only have themselves to blame for what has happened to them. They went into admin and were liquidated, are you trying to blame the SFA and the media for that. The new club started again from the 3rd Division. You can't rewrite history just because of the verdict in this particular tax case. You have no legitimate grievance with the authorities or anyone else, other than the people who ran your club into the ground.

So tell me how were we supposed get a buyer for the club when everyone was spouting how we owed various figures from 85m to 126m. It really beggers belief that people think that the media, HMRC and others helped the situation. these things gave Murray the excuse to offload to Whyte and that lead to this

By calling in the 'loans' to save Rangers?

Aye because a few loans would have covered the 100m ;)

You got 2 buyers. First Craig Whyte, then Charles Green, who unfortunately couldn't save the club, but bought the stadium and training ground and set up a new club so you had someone to support.

LOL we got to buyers Whyte got us for a pound then deliberately withheld millions in tax so putting us into admin and leading us down the road we are on as I have already stated. The rest of your post is pointless it has been done to death on here and we will never agree but carry on if it means your spunking your jeans at the thought ;)

Yes, you got BUYERS, Whyte BOUGHT the club for a quid, then allegedly Charles BOUGHT it for £2. So it doubled in value under Craigyboys tenure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,340 ✭✭✭TheBuilder

The fact you call him 'craigyboy' says it all.

Anyone with any but of common sense can see what went on at the club, the reports of 134 million debts obviously put off buyers, leading Murray to sell to that shyster for a quid. And we all know what's happened since then with the current mob.

Absolute no sense debating with all but about two Celtic fans on this thread, absolute roasters.

Jelle and BBE, they're not worth it.

Pity nobody at the original rangers thought of it, could have survived going out of business!
