Yup to be honest for the first time in fifty five years of supporting Rangers and I mean from a very young age going home and away right up until I moved back here when circumstances made it more difficult but I still managed 15/20 games a year. Been all over Europe including Barca 72.
I am loosing heart we have been fecked always and still are I really worry for our future now

Seems the heads are slowly being removed from the sand. Progress at least.

A comment I read on the Record website regarding the stadium naming rights being sold to Ashley for £1:
I think that the new name should be the Mike Ashley Sports Stadium then all the bears can go to MASS

    Made me lol!

Heads have been removed from the sand for a good while regarding the crooks in charge. And don't start about protesting outside the stadium etc it is a pointless exercise this board and the faceless investors have to much power. The only way is not to got to games or buy any merchandise those who didn't buy season tickets had the right idea but there is a section of our support for whatever reason cannot see beyond the end of their noses and seem to believe whatever bull**** the spivs throw at them

£620,000 of the clubs assets must surely include a stake in Ibrox/carpark/Murray Park surely? Not as if the club has £620,000 in liquid assets.

In fairness they are probably still getting used to the complexities of having to pay tax on earnings like any other honest business in the country.

I think it's sad that the lesson has been lost on you. Regardless of how the Big Tax Case went/goes (as those points where Rangers were found not-guilty on are being appealed), fact of the matter is Rangers FC skived on paying millions in tax. Whether or not they exploited a loophole to do that is irrelevant to my post. Your club is now paying tax on earnings (well, you'd hope so anyway), which was the basis of my quite frankly tongue in cheek post.

Sorry for poking a fresh wound at any rate.

Nothing has been lost on me, this whole claim about how Rangers didn't pay millions in taxes is tiresome and has been proven wrong.
So yes, it was obvious it was tongue in cheek but still.

Unless you're talking about Whyte not paying PAYE and VAT, which was pretty much all his doing without much, if any knowledge from other people inside the club.

To put it in the simplest terms possible for you:

    - Were Rangers operating an EBT scheme?
    - Are the current Rangers operating an EBT scheme?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

I'm fairly certain that you know that when Rangers used the EBT scheme it was legal, it has hence been made illegal and Rangers have not used it since.

    Is that 'simple enough' ?

Nice one, we've now established that the previous incarnation of Rangers had a scheme to avoid paying millions in tax and that the new one does not. Thus, the club is now "probably still getting used to the complexities of having to pay tax on earnings".

I suspect the point you're struggling with is whether their scam was illegal or managed to exploit loopholes. Luckily you needn't worry about that as it has no bearing on what I'm saying here.

Granted, this may not be 'simple enough', but I trust you have a reasonable understanding after how many times it's been explained.

I could of course post the numerous links that this thread already contains about it all, but somehow I doubt you'd comprehend it.

Allow me not to have the same faith in your understanding.

The tax case is still ongoing and it relates to a different business

But Rangers, not the current incarnation, were found guilty during that court case.

Charles Green's name should not be spoken with any positivity in scottish football, never mind a program from the club he pillaged

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,112 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

I think it is a program from Livingston

Yep, I think the "consigned to history" bit would confirm that!

Trouble in the away end, and the sectarian songbook out again. Wonder if the authorities will do anything about it.

They're probably too busy with finding a suitable date for Griffiths' case.

Can't help but notice you've been a lot quieter about the numerous allegations surrounding your own players

Remind me, how did the Shels game go against Rangers (In Liquidation) a number of years ago?
