That wasn't me, was parked in work all day.

Saw another with xenons which is rare enough on them.

Threw an order into clean car last night so hopefully should keep me busy for the weekend.

What have you on it at present?

Took the top off the auto wheel clean to put the sprayer nozzle on and the smell would knock you out, I can still smell it in my nostrils!

can i ask(out of sheer ignorance) why that is important?

Probably out of curiosity that he asked - maybe he seen a picture of it previously and thought it looked well.

But it can have importance also - if there is a previous product on the car, and its not stripped back, the product that is layered on top, may no bond well, and as a result not be as durable or give the desired results.

thanks for that. was curious as he seemed to be questioning in the direct context of using 845, i was wondering was there something about using that with other waxes which was unique to it

What I've used since I got the C1 put on the car is a a quick detailer after a wash. This is the one I've been using:

Safe enough going with the 845 over that? Someone told me to get panel wipe out to the car first.

No, there isnt anything really unique!

The majority of product will work best on their own, and not layered with other products. That said there are products that are designed to work well together, but often there are some slight negatives that have to be considered with layering products. For example, durability might be slightly affected.

Wax or sealant will always work best on freshly prepared paint work; a clayed surface
Wax or sealant on a hand polish may not be quite as durable as the polish is the layer bonded to the paintwork and the wax is bonded to the polish layer.
And so on; the same applies for glazes, waxes layered on sealants, etc. The sealant would be more durable than a wax, and a layer wax would almost become a sacrificial layer in a way!

C1 is a chemically bonded coating, that is almost like another surface layer....so should almost like the lacquer on your regular paintwork.
Without any first hand experience of C1 I wouldnt like to say for sure, but I'd be confident that 845 would go on, without too much issue, provided it isnt starting to show signs of it starting to deteriorate. Seeing as C1 is a durable coating maybe a quick wash down of APC wouldnt do any harm before applying the 845.

    As answered above
845 works best on bare paint/lacquer.
May not bond and hold up too well over other products, though it should give it a lift and hold up for a while.
Can't see it doing any harm.

So five hours of detailing today and i have a thirst on me now :D

Here is the before pic. Which is still a hell of a lot cleaner than a fiesta i saw caked in birdshit in Tesco today

    20140530_113214_zpsvofdtwgg.jpg

    Washed, detarred, clayed

    20140530_135750_zpskatnl5al.jpg

    and deironized

    20140530_115724_zpsh58qxtnm.jpg

Found a nice little rust spot during claying. Typical. Good ol Merc and their cheap ass galvanising.

    20140530_124931_zpslzyglfgl.jpg

Washed again and dryed. Then broke out the Blacklight glaze n Pete's 53 wax. Pete smells good :pac:
The glaze n wax covered a couple of scuff marks nicely too but it needs a few good machine polishes.
Wheels washed with Orchards ph neutral cleaner from Detailing Shed and sealed with AG. No stains. This pleases me :D
Bit of trim gel, tyres dressed, glass cleaned and she's done. Gonna leave the interior till tomorrow.

    20140530_160322_zpse1kcqppr.jpg

Heres a pic of what i used. The verve bottles are empty spray bottles filled with AG's tar remover and diluted Orchards wheel cleaner

So I brought my power washer (Nilfisk C120) to DID and they changed it for a different one (same model washer, I mean, just a different physical actual unit).

I took it home and powered it up, and it sounds much meaner than my old one. My old one sounded like something out of star wars when it stopped spraying or built up it's pressure. This one sounds much more industrial or something. It also 'sprays' water when theres no connection attached. My old one just drooped it on the ground like the end of a garden hose.

But anyway, it was firing away on all cylinders.

Then I put the Snow Foam lance on and it started again. On/off half-second hisses. I quickly disconnected it.

So it would appear my choices are to either replace the lance or attempt to open it and find out whats wrong (a blockage of some sort presumably).

What would ye guys do? I don't think I'd have the head for messing with it, so I'm leaning towards just buying a new one. At the same time, rather not be forking out €55 every 6 months either.

Anyone any general advice? I can't think of any time I mistreated the lance or such.

Also, Randy, i just want to apologise (on the forum) to you. Randy sent me a very, very detailed and helpful PM and I swore I replied back saying I was going to just drop it back to DID as a first port of call, but just there as i was writing this post, I realised I never actually replied at all. Sorry about that man! Not intentional. :o

You've had more trouble with this bloody snow foam idea than I've ever seen on this forum before :pac:

TBH if you want my opinion, I'd just bring it back for a refund if possible and buy a Karcher. They are the biz.

Well in fairness it doesnt seem to be a pressure washer issue, it seems to be more a snow foam lance issue.

But I admit, that I have had my fair share of them, alright.. :o

I see. Have you tried any other lances?

No, I don't really know anyone else in the world of detailing, except Curran when I meet him to take a few bits and bobs off him here and there. Feels like there's a blockage of some sort in the lance. Not entirely sure. Might just buy a new one in a week or two and if i have the same issue again, then I'll just rule snow foaming out of my routine.

It could be the gauze actually! HERE is the replacement. I'd say it's worth a try!
