Yeah it's built into both the YouTube app on your phone and on the TV.

The only other app I know of that has the same feature is Netflix.
It works almost identically to the YouTube app.

I think the netflix and youtube app have casting abilities. As opposed to full screen mirroring.

Here is a pretty decent guide on a subject.
    http://www.tomsguide.com/us/how-to-stream-to-tv,news-18335.html

If you have a "Wireless Display" section in your settings menu you can probably use Miracast to mirror your phones screen on your TV.

Otherwise, Chromecast support is growing among Android video/TV/streaming apps

I have a screen mirroring option in the setting but it doesn't do anything when I turn it on. It just searches

Miracast - that's the thing I use. If it's a new TV with wireless capabilities it will probably have it.

You may need to enable the setting in your TV then.
If it's a decent smart TV it should have it there somewhere :)

Would one of the early Samsung smart TVs from start of 2013 have miracast because my phone has something about miracast in the settings.

If you download video files to your phone you should be able
To use direct wifi to play them
On your TV. I do it with my note 2

No not at all, on your phone goto settings click on wifi.
At the bottom of the screen
It will say direct wifi, when you click on that it scans, on your TV you have to find direct wifi too. On mine it's settings, network wifi direct. You have to scan both at the same time.

Then just click to connect on the phone and on the TV it will say accept, yes and it's done.
    Then just open samsung hub
And play the video, in the top right of the screen you will see an icon, press that and it will start playing on the telly :)

Edit: or if you have a 360 open samsung hub And play video
Hit the icon on the top of the screen and select 360 and it will play thru the xbox.

Exactly what you named. App backup and restore but it doesn't backup app data, which is good as that is what usually causes problems. If you install a custom ROM the developers usually tell you not to restore from titanium as that backs up app data and when you restore it causes problems, not always mind you but it can do.

But also why do you need to restore you apps. They should automatically download from play store after you install a new ROM. Well it does for me anyway for the last number of years. It didn't though when I first started using Android a good few years ago.

If you make Nandroid backups of your roms before you update (you should if you dont) then Nandroid Manager can browse the backup file and restore any apps and their data

With Nandroid I need busybox which I don't understand yet or used.
Guess I will need that to back up the current ROM anyway.

Anyone else playing Don't Tap The White Tile? It's pretty addicting. I've gotten 8.137 on Classic Mode (50).

Just click smart install and leave it is the most of Busybox I understand :D

I'm pretty sure you can get away with Nandroid without a Busybox, but it doesn't back it up fully

This has helped my battery life by about 20% - I have it installed for the last week or so and find it has helped conserve battery

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teqtic.leandata

    Description
LeanData is a lightweight application that automatically manages your device's battery-hungry wireless connections.
It can disable WiFi, Cellular Data (2G, 3G, LTE), and Bluetooth* after a certain time with the screen off to conserve battery power and lower data usage. Connections are only disabled if on battery, if not tethering, if there is negligible data transfer, and no Bluetooth devices are connected (with option "only turn off if inactive"). For example, streaming internet radio will not stop. If a connection is found to be in use, it will check again.

Once the screen is turned back on or unlocked (option), it will then enable any connections it had previously disabled

Thanks for the tip. Great app.

on the tv press the apps button and select "screen mirroring", then on the phone turn on "screen cast" (thats what its called on the nexus ,don't know what it called on the note)- when its found click ok on tv.
This will replicate your phone on the tv, handy for giant angry birds.

but for music/photos/video (esp video) on your phone or stored on cloud (dropbox etc) use BubbleUpnp , its a great app. Just select a file on your phone , press play and its on your Tv.

Maybe this isn't the rift place to ask but my battery life is gone terrible. I'm now at 15% at lunchtime. I've a note 3 and used to go to bed with 30% left.

Any ideas what could be causing this ?

Happened me yesterday - also google search was the culprit. I stopped it, cleared the cache, seems to be ok again.
