Ill add some non battery saver apps

    AirDroid-Best Device Manager
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sand.airdroid
Manage your Android devices on the web, all over the air.
    - No USB cable required.
    - No driver installation required.
    - Same WiFi network or Internet

I use it for taking videos or pictures off the phone, you can also find your phone with it by gps or making it ring and also send text messages from it

    ES File Explorer File Manager
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop
I use to access a folder I share on my computer, mostly to install apps after downloading the apk file. Can also copy files from your phone to your computer(but is very slow)

    Opera Max beta-Save data
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.opera.max
If you are on a limited data package and cant find wifi you can use this to compress the data size, option in it for video quality if you want to watch youtube etc and save on data

    SofaScore LiveScore World Cup
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sofascore.android
Live football scores(used to have videos of the goals),also does the League Of Ireland which is normally hard to get

Are people still having battery troubles? I've had my N4 for 18 months now and it hasn't died on me once. I use it pretty heavily all day, stream music over 3g, browse and a bit of YouTube.

    Show your purchased apps
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.azefsw.purchasedapps
There may be a better way of doing this. If there is then let me know. I've had android phones since 2011. After installing this I saw a pile of apps that I'd purchased and forgotten about.

    Automateit
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=AutomateIt.mainPackage
Get your phone to perform certain tasks based on time / location etc. etc. It's like Tasker except simple to use.

Some rules I've put in Automateit are
    - Silence the phone (except for ringtones at 10PM) - I have a couple of mates that can text at 3AM which I don't find hilarious.
    - Turn the volume back on at 7AM
    - Turn off 3G when WiFi connects - I always forget to turn 3G off and have a crappy quota. So this turns off the 3G whenever I go home or arrive in work.
    - On my TV box. Start up XBMC automatically when the box starts up.

Open the Play Store, go to My Apps, then All.

Shows you a list of all the Apps you own, free or purchased.

Something like the app ou linked to is pointless and serves no purpose so I would be really wary of it

That's a pretty useless list if you just want to see apps you've purchased.
    • It's ordered by installation time, with no way to change the order
    • you can't filter it
    • you can't just go to the bottom - it's dynamically loaded, so you have to scroll down screen by screen
    • if you have an app installed at the moment there's no way to tell if it was purchased or free
    • you can remove uninstalled, purchased apps from that list. The apps are still purchased, but won't show up there

Boardsie Enhancement Suite - a browser extension to make using Boards on desktop a better experience (includes full-width display, keyboard shortcuts, dark mode, and more). Now available through your browser's extension store.

A list of all your apps in no particular order is useless.

I use My Paid Apps to do the same as timetogo's app.

A list of your paid apps is particularly useful if you have multiple android devices.

Absofeckinglutely. I've been using Android since 2011 I think. Every app I've ever installed, even if it was only for 2 minutes before I uninstalled it appears on this list. I've so many apps on it, it takes minutes to load the page. It's unusable. If they had a way of removing apps from the My Apps list it would be some use.

Click the X on the right side of apps that you've no longer installed and you can remove them from that list! :)

If any one fancies playing the classics:

The .emu emulators from Ex Plus Alpha are the best for consoles like the Mega Drive, SNES, NES ,Master System, Commodore 64 etc.

For arcade games then mame4droid is awesome and it's free. You can download from the playstore also.
It supports netplay (multiplayer) between android AND iOS devices, so its totally cross platform. You can play over wifi or bluetooth. Which is awesome!

A free alternative called RetroArch does every game system and more, its an all in one app.

Discussion of acquiring ROMs is prohibited on boards.ie so don't even think about it! ;)

Anyone interested in the classics should check out the The Arcade and Retro forum, a real nice community there, and we won't bite I promise! ;)

I don't think this will on play for too long so might be handy to get it while you can.

    Spoticast - Spotify to Chromecast.

Have been connecting my Nexus 4 via 3.5mm jack on my sound system but as the sound system is connected to a TV with a Chromecast, no need!

    Very handy!

FLIXTOR is surprisingly still on the Play store, works well enough, bit slow to load, not as quick as the film app I no longer mention but does a decent job.

It is up to yourself! There is alternative's listed in the above link, some of which let you download. Especially the app that can't be mentioned here.

I am surprised that this app is allowed to be mentioned at all here.

A Mod will probably get around to removing mentions of it eventually?

Time4Popcorn has recently released their own Android version, which uses the same "cloud" that the windows version used aswell. This might be dangerous regarding Android malware but then again, at this point No dangerous code was found in their app. As far as name goes, they named it Popcorn Time, which is not a nice thing to do. This could be to steal traffic from the official Popcorn time (/r/popcorntime) but could also just be because they want a name change.

Although the authors of the linked page changed the content, overnight!
It was more strongly worded against the use of Time4Popcorn.

TuneIn Radio Pro has been updated and the update is a complete balls up. Apart from the awful look they've removed the feature I use most, the alarm clock.

So, can anyone recommend an alternative radio app with alarm clock functionality or, would anyone have the apk for the older version (current is 12.0).

Go into the app settings and clear updates. It will go back to the original version.
